htc replaced my mainboard for free with unlocked bootloader

after unlocking my one x , i installed arhd and it worked good for 2 days then when i trired to pull down notfication tray the phone hangs and showed missed graphic elements on the upper half of the screen
then i restart the phone by holding the power button but it remains the same during the boot also so i restarted into boot loader and it went fine so i choosed recovery but it stuck at the logo of the recovery
so again i restarted the phone but now it's not responding at all and the screen is black
so i tried to connect the charger but no response at all and the phone is dead
after one hour i tried to press the power again but the screen remains black but i heared the sound of booting but i can't see anything on the screen
and then i sent it to htc to repair it under warranty and after 3 days they called me and told me that they replaced the main board for free as the phone was bricked and restored it to its official state withe 1.29 ruu and the phone was locked again :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:
and i asked them for new package with the new serial and imei as both are differnet now from mine and they told me to respond to this tomorrow
all of this is free and they gave me also new screen protector
after that i checked for updates on my phone and found the new update foe middle east 2.17.415.2 ice cream 4.0.4 with sense 4.1
so i updated my phone and the phone is flying now without any lag and i checked it with quadrant and the score was 6112 on the stock rom without root and this is screen shot

Nice to hear that. when you said you sent your phone to HTC did you ment Jovi Tronix since they are represent HTC here in Egypt ?

Yes, I sent it to jovi tronix here in Alex
And they called me now to go there to fix imei and serial number problem

This is good news there is others was complain that they couldn't fix their handsets within they warranties because of custom ROM. Congratulations and have a nice day.:good:

Great news to hear. Especially when i hear about so many people who have problems with the warranty with unlock boot loader.

If the phone is bricked, are they able to check bootlader status and/or do memory scan for custom ROM?

HTC One X Screen won't turn on, touchscreen still work???

I have been using the HOX for over 2 months now but this morning my phone display suddenly doesn't turn on even the backlight key still on and touchscreen still work ( when I sweep my finger up the unlock sound still play, and I can even adjust the volume of the phone, etc... ) I have no ideas if this is a software or hardware problem and how to solve it, I'm still on Stock Rom, Stock Kernel,... Please help me

try to reboot pressing power button for 10 seconds, if it'll not work, it can be hardware problem, as i understood you haven't unlocked it, so you can send it to htc and they will repair it, or if you can, you can change it by yourself,

have you tried starting in bootloader and factory resetting?

Yeah I tried to reset the phone, ai first it worked. But when I turn the screen off and doesn't use it for a few minutes, the problem is back again, It's really odd, I have heard about lots of HOX Screen problem but I haven't seen this one before

So the screen works in bootloader?

Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Really weird, it feels like the phone has woke up but the display still "think" that it still in standby mode

Hardware fault for sure.

Hey, ive been using my international HTC One X for about two months too now and there have been no problems. ever since the update to 4.0.3 ive been facing exactly the same problem. The screen does not turn on a lot of the time but the touch is active. Have you found any solution to it?
It would be great if you could help me out.

I have the same problem now. Using it completely stock, the screen doesn't turn on. Well.... Except for the times I visit the Vodafone shop to get it fixed....
Their first reaction was a defect in the screen, so they ordered a new one. I brought it yesterday again and it is now in for repair.
I don't know if this will solve the problem. How did they fix yours?

I can't believe it...
I get my HOX fixed last week and I worked normally again. But after 2-3 days, the problem is back again. I contact HTC and they said they even replaced my MOTHERBOARD and Screen. Wtf is happening???

I had this problem a month ago, i know its frustrating.
anyway the only solution is factory rest from boot loader and flash RUU (worked for me)
the first time i had it, i did a factory reset, all my pics music were gone, phone went back to normal( stock, locked)
after a day the problem appeared again, second rest.
flashed RUU and the problem is gone. thanks god i have been using my HOX about a month science that problem and every thing is working great.
im sure its a software issue and I recommend every one to back up their files(pics,music)
just flash RUU and good luck

Lol, exactly the issue I had recently had with mine. Sent it backto htc, let's see what they would do about it.

My colleque has the same issue with his One X.
It started with suddenly everything on his screen looking "zoomed in", so everything double size, looking ugly as a mofo, and not usable. After locking the sceen and unlocking again, it was fine.
Monday suddenly also screen didn't want to turn on anymore. Did the hard reboot for him, and it worked again... Untill he locked his screen and wanted to unlock, same issue.
Also, that time when doing the hard reboot, screen didn't turn on at all. Did another one, and worked again.
He's now sent it in for repair, this definately sounds like ahrdware issue, even full reset through bootloader didn't help.

Yup, exactly the same problem I'm having, I sent it to HTC, they said they fixed it by replacing the motherboard, but now it is happening again, I will have to send to HTC again.

This just happened to my phone... Has anyone else solved it? Is reset and flashing RUU the solution?

I have the same problem right now.
It started last week when I was using Flipboard and suddenly everything started zooming in and stuff (same as mhulsegge above). It was resolved by locking my screen and unlocking it.
Last night, i've been getting the black screen when I try to unlock my phone. The touchscreen still works but the screen is just blank. It turns on if I keep locking and unlocking, but it's getting annoying.
My phone is an international One X (duh) bought in Hong Kong and I'm currently living in Canada so it would not be possible to send it back for repairs. Plus my phone is rooted and I am currently using the latest MIUI ROM (2.9.21). I have been using an app called "Sleep" which tracks your sleeping patterns. It requires you to place your screen face down on your bed when you sleep and the accelerometer will track your sleeping patterns and wake you up at the most optimal time. I assume that for the accelerometer to work the screen has to be on, so I am wondering if this can be a screen malfunction (overheat or overuse) problem since the screen has been on for so long (every night when i sleep for around a month).
Since sending it back is out of the question for me because of where I am living right now and I have voided my warranty, I am downloading other ROMs as we speak and seeing if it is a problem with my ROM. I will keep you guys posted.
-edit- I have tried factory reset and reinstalling my ROM (with a full wipe). Still doesn't work.

It´s probably not your rom since I use CM10 hand have the same problem and others have even been running stock and had this problem. The only one who seems to have solved this (at least in this thread) flashed RUU, so guess I´ll go try that now...
Would be great to hear if anyone else has solved it, and how!
edit: This has to be a hardware problem, if I push on the screen it starts working! Its like something is loose, and when i press on the screen it gets connected again.

Good tip, but I tried a gentle two-fingered push (zoom pinch) and the backlight turned itself on with very little pressure, certainly not enough to flex the screen. I believe that it is a state issue related to zoom, but will try again and report if the issue returns.

Screen black after replacement lcd display unit
Hi,
My HOX touchscreen was broken, the touch and everything was still working. I ordered a replacement lcd display Unit and replaced the complete display and touch. After replacement the screen is completely black but the phone still works. The touch buttons on the bottom still work and i can use the volume buttons. I replaced the lcd display unit very carefully and i am sure nothing is broken etc. So the touch is working but the screen is black. I tried 2 display units and both show me a black screen.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Did i forget to do something during the replacement?
Please, i need some help with this issue.

[Q] Screen is Frozen ,Only Stylus works ,Need Help

My 1 Month old Samsung Galaxy Note 2 is behaving strangely ,the Screen fails to respond to Hand swipes or touch ,the only possible way is to use stylus which comes along the phone .
i had this issue few 2 weeks back (approx screen was forzen for 3-4 hrs ) and after a while i was able to use it normally ,not sure why ?
but today ,the same issue and its not responding at all ,what might be the reason ? have any of you folks experienced such issues ??
please help !!!

Reboot the phone if that happens , if the problem persists do a data/factory reset or reflash the rom with Odin. Never heard of this issue before.

hi i have tried doing the following :
1-reboot
2-hard reset.
3-battery removed and re-inserted ,reboot
what could be the reason ?? could this be a water loggin issue (but my phone was never exposed to any rain/water flow /spillage ) ???

If the stylus is still working ok, I'd say the issue is likely a faulty capacitive touchscreen, and as such, a hardware issue.
The S-Pen uses a Wacom digitiser separate to the touchscreen.

I am from India using custom ROM on my HOX from last 7-8 Months without any problem..
I used almost all the famous ROMs on my HOX like Viper, Sky Dragon, Revolution HD ... etc But before 20 Days I flash CM 10.1 its also fine and running very smoothly but before 10-12 days I am facing a problem of Screen Wak Up automatically. The display turns on without touching the devices its feels very anonymous and strange problem and from last 7 days i GOOGLED and try every thing but still facing the same problem.. then I flashed stock ROM and everything is good for only one Day then after that on Stock ROM I am facing same problem, Please help me....
Now I am using PROBAM ROM...

Please please please Help me....
Two more Issues:
1. Device Switched ON automatically after Switching OFF within 10-15Sec.

Maybe that might be a issue with your POWER button or power button's cable :/ did u drop your phone or got a bit of water in it ?

Yes Before some day.. Some water Drops are drops on it... But I clean it from Mobile Repairer.. and he found no water inside..
Also Now I am on Stock ROM and there is noe Wake Up problem... but only a problem I am facing that Display turned off during a use...
Also if I upgrade it to 4.1 which is official release, the wake up problem started....

i think its an issue with the power button and the cable ..try replacing it with a new one or the one which is working or clean it with a contact cleaner

HTC ONE X screen wake up problem
:crying: I recently bought a HTC ONE X mobile and it has issue regarding screen wake up problem.Scree wakes up from time to time.I have installed a custom rom VIper latest version..The problem happens when i charge my phone or sometime just keep on the surface..Am also not able to turn off completely .It turns off on fast turn off mode only...I have used wake lock detector and moslty keyguard is waking up the phone ..PLz help

Brand New Device, Its just been a Week...
I Rooted and Installed CM 11 Yesterday.... So Today,After watching some Anime Video's on it..I Left it for almost 1 Hour... Came back and tried to unlock it...Touch wasnt Responding well.And Phone's Screen was hot indeed.. So Even Shut down wasnt possible ...
So i used Power Button for 10 Seconds and Restarted... Phone Restarted...But again Phone was very Laggy,So Tried Restarting again...This time.... No Display nor any Touch Buttons were lighting up... Instead what i got were random Vibrations.... I tried to get into Download Mode,Recovery....... Yet no Response from Screen but only a Vibration from Device itself...
Any one faced this issue? Any Known Solution...? I wont get free Warranty as Device is from UK

Have you tried to reinstall cm11?

Try removing your battery for a minute then put it back without your sdcard or sim inserted. Then try getting into download or recovery mode

I tried both of that plenty of times...
For a Surprise...Phone booted up today,,,But touch on right part not working.... Then i resetted...Then total touch not working....After 2 Mintes... Screen acting like Old CRT Monitor..Bluish Green Color Lines.... When on recovery and download mode...No Such Color issues

That means you CAN enter recovery? Try going in recovery and adb pushing a fresh CM image to your phone and then flashing it after doing a good wipe of your phone

I did install Pacman now.... But Screen issue is back....Multiple color's :crying: I think Hardware Issue, I googled about similar issue... No one tried to solve it..instead Replaced it...I'm Really Stuck...Cant even download STock ROM due to its size

I had these screen issues too... But for me removing the battery and reflash the Rom did it...

Seems like your new phone has over heated and caused some serious damage to screen and maybe gpu\cpu.
Seen this happen recently with a ROM I installed also. But pulled battery out in time. And installed another.
I always watch out for over heating when installing a new ROM. Usually a sign somebody messing with CPU clocks.
For your sake though I hope you got it in time and can flash another ROM.

I dont think its ROM issue...But Right part of Touch not working... and display gone off... Works without screen... And whenever i give a blow on that right side of the screen....Display Flashes and goes off... I have given it to be checked in a local store

UPDATE : At a Local Shop,they said display is damaged because of water ... [ i never kept or used it with water]
Samsung Store said ...Display was burnt from inside and they will replace it for 6k Indian Rs.... :crying: :crying:

Tell them phone over heated when charging and using WiFi at same time!

They wont because my Phone is GT-I9195 and was bought from Outside...No Warranty available for me in India...

I use original USB Cable to charge from PC

Hey I've seen this issue too, one of my friends has a GT I9192 and I updated his phone to the latest stock ROM first it worked very good, but one day he was recording something with his camera, and then played the recording after that the phone shut down, and didn't want to restart after taking the battery out and trying again and again, it reboots and after 3 or 4 min turns off again. I flashed some other stock roms but nothing, when I get in recovery mode, after some minutes the screen goes all blue.
And sometimes when restarting it shows colored lines in screen.
Went to Samsung Costumer Care (Saudi Arabia) they say that the phone has been rooted (which is not true) cause the KNOX Warranty bit shows 0x1
I don't know what to do.
The phone was bought in Saudi Arabia. And I live in Europe
Could I send it somewhere in Samsung CS in Europe cause i heard that here in Europe the KNOX warranty bit doesn't affect hardware damages (which I think that this issue is a hardware damage)

Yeah, Its was simple... But device's inside got burned out for no reason... Display board isnt working.... Take it to SVC .. only way :crying:
