4.1.2 is being rolled out in different markets at different times. Just because it is out in one market doesn't mean it is out for the CSC of your phone.

You can flash it via ODIN using a stock 4.1.2 rom, like I did, but I have now rolled back as battery life sucked, tbh there is very little difference that I could tell between the 2.
Thanks for that.

You should get update
try this
setting - appl manager - All(you can see downloaded/running/all by swyping screen to Lt)
you will find software update (2 times)
open it and clear data for both
Check for update, you may get update. If not
simply download latest ROM from here and flash with Odin

one more thing you can try
backup your importnt data then wipe cache and data from recovery.
then you can try if update available for you
and let me know what you are getting by dialling *#1234#
Any reason you dont want Odin? its much reliable then kies.

Sure will contact you on Odin.
But i heard that Samsung had rolled back 4.2.1 bcoz of some vulnerability. Is that True.
or that can be the reason in my case that i'm not getting Update.
No,
its there already. Not 4.2.1 but its 4.1.2

And as for you who got .146, another user already uploaded rooted img, be sure to thank him.

No need to unroot, just wait for the rooted version of the ROM and flash that The rooted version of stock ROM is usually out the same day or a few days after the official realease.
If you update to L710VPLI3 using a rooted ROM do you also need to separately update the radios. Always been a bit confused with radios vs. software ROM. Does enhance LTE (which I use daily) come from software update or radio update.

You usually have to flash modems (aka radios) separatly, depends on the dev. Well, only saw one dev include it but he created a separate tool to flash modems that is linked below.
Seems that modems were not updated in this release and the LTE optimization is more a software fix. You find the latest modems here and here is the easiest way to flash without Odin.

So I gather that if I just flash any ROM that is based on new LI3 then I will have the upgrade enhancement regarding LTE. Great. I hate having to unroot or reflash stock recovery to take OTA. Thanks.

I don't see that there's even an update.zip that's been released. I wouldn't jump to conclusions just yet, might still be a modem update.

get ready to have all the bloatware re installed.
my gf has the epic 4g touch. it was stock rooted and the very last update a few days ago re installed all bloatware and went further ahead by disabling the option to disable some of the apps that previously could be uninstalled through application manager. also it took away root so i had to stock re root her phone.
if updates were just performance enhancements i would welcome them but, why do carriers always insist on pushing their crap into our phones??
So this is a update from LG8 or what ever

Sorry if this question has already been answered but I have been looking in the forums and couldn't find exactly what i want.
From what I have found, there is an international version and a carrier version of the note 2.
I got my phone from EE (uk mobile carrier) and have removed the simlock by getting the code from them and now using the phone on Three mobile (another uk mobile carrier). But the problem is that its settings are still there like their website bookmark cannot be deleted and I have their recommended apps in the google play store.
I am guessing that the firmware version is also tied to when ever EE releases it. So i was thinking if its possible to make my mobile switch to the international firmware release. Which seems to be the first to get the latest of Samsung updates.
Is such a thing possible, if so is it worth it? and can any one tell me how to do it.
thank you in advance.
Just flash a Stock ROM via Odin PC.

Flash indian firmware. They are the first to get updates.
And when updating from 4.1.2 to 4.3 or 4.4.2 you should make a factory reset in recovery because they change storage location.
For best result after a flash i recommend you make a backup of your internal memory and flash the Indian firmware then make a factory reset.
