File association problem with CM 10.1 Nightly - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've found a problem with CM 10.1 Nightly with my Galaxy Nexus.
It's a file association problem. When I try to open any .pdf file (or even .torrent file) it says that there is no application able to load that file. Of course this is wrong because the builtin PDF viewer and the tTorrent Pro for torrent files. It doesn't happen with stock ROM.
Is this a know issue to be fixed in the final release? Because if it's a 'wanted behavior', I'm going to return to stock...
Thanks and sorry for my not-so-elegant English.

Does cm have built in PDF viewer? Try download a different viewer and see if it persists. It's not a problem on my cm 10 galaxy nexus with 3rd party PDF viewer.

What nightly? Logcat? Dmesg? Threads where the op doesn't provide any info should be closed.

Use Download All Files to save it to your sdcard then open it via whatever PDF viewer you choose.

I was speaking about the default PDF viewer (the builtin document viewer that comes with Jelly Bean). Even if the viewer is missing, the same problem happens with torrent files (and I'm sure that torrent application is installed and works).

20130121 nightly. I'm not sure how to provider logcat or dmesg
Anyways it happens with .torrent files and tTorrent Pro is supposed to open the torrent file directly (it works in stock as I said).

I can download the file, the error happens when I try to pen it directly.

Same for me, so I moved it to the data/app section and changed the permissions and then restarted the phone and it worked fine.
Edit, scratch that, the app starts up and picks up my voice, but crashes anytime it needs to a task.
same problem here... Galaxy S2, ICS 4.0.3 says "application not installed"
Any ideas?

Flash on Dolphin Browser for JB ROMS!

In order to enable flash player in dolphin browser you need to navigate to data/data/mobi.mgeek.Tunny/Browser/shared_prefs/ using root explorer and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml.
I'm not the one who discover it. Just wanted to share to those who wants to enable flash on dolphin browser which can be downloaded on play store.
Yes, it works, Dolphin will update.
I'm using Dolphin Browser Beta on rom:I9300XXDLIB 4.1.1. and have no folder ''mobi.mgeek.Tunny" in data/data/.
Or do i not need to delete that file in Beta to enable flash player?

Use the non beta dolphine browser that can be downloaded on the play store. You need to open the browser first and go to any site before you delete the preference stated above. You must enable the root feature in root explorer

So i followed the steps exactly as posted and seemed to work for me. I now have flash player "always on"
However when i load you tube in desktop mode and other sites, i still get the flash player needs to be installed error.
Any suggestions?

Here is what I did:
- Install CleanRom 2.7 (pick option to install Flash within Aroma). There is a way to download the flash installer separate if don't want to install cleanrom but you will have to search the forums. I am using Cleanrom with Nova launcher and love it.
- Install latest Dolphin Browser from market
- Open Dolphin and visit any site
- Close Dolphin
- Use any file explorer (with root access) to goto data/data/mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser/shared_prefs/ and delete mobi.mgeek.TunnyBrowser_preferences.xml.
- I rebooted but not sure if that is needed
- Now flash will work within the latest Dolphin Browser.
Hope this helps.

Dolphin and Flash on my un-rooted S3
I somehow got Flash working with Dolphin on my UN-rooted Samsung Galaxy S3 after the JB upgrade from Verizon. It now has Flash permanently enabled. And it has stayed that way even after a couple of Dolphin updates from the Playstore. I'm not quite sure how I accomplished this. It was dumb luck.
I think the setting got changed somehow when I one by one downloaded several of the better rated incognito private browsers from the Play Store and tried them out to find the one I liked. In each of them I set the User Agent to desktop and enabled Flash. I then uninstalled them all except Frost Lite which I decided was the best.
At some point later, I noticed that Flash had started working in Dolphin. I suspect that one of these browsers shares the same tuny settings file as Dolphin and had the ability to either write to it or delete it. But I am not certain. I don't remember exactly all of the browsers I downloaded. For certain I downloaded "Free Private Browser", "InBrowser - Incognito Browsing", and "Frost Lite". I might have tried a couple of others. I suspect it might have been "Free Private Browser" that did the trick because it says in the app description it uses builtin Webkit rendering engine. But I have no way to repeat the experiment.
All I know for certain is that Flash now works in Dolphin on my un-rooted S3 .
Thanks for the info, and I will try it soon

[APP][MOD][addon.d] Stock Gallery w/ Picasa Sync

A lot of people running Cyanogenmod, and other custom AOSP-based ROMs would like to have the gallery that ships with the Nexus devices. This zip will replace your gallery (Gallery2.apk) with the stock Google gallery (GalleryGoogle.apk). This will give you Picasa sync and the ability to view Photospheres on Nexus 7 devices, and take Photospheres on devices with a rear camera! This mod also includes an addon.d script.
What is addon.d?
On some ROMs, like Cyanogenmod, there are scripts in /system/addon.d that run during a ROM update or flash. They can backup and restore system apps (like Gapps), or perform many other functions. This mod includes an addon.d script, so the mod is not lost during a ROM update! If your ROM doesn't support addon.d, this mod should still flash properly, but you won't benefit from addon.d.
Tested and Confirmed to work on:
CyanogenMod 10.2
Install Instructions:
- Boot into recovery
- Flash Install zip
- Reboot
Downloads:
Install-GoogleGallery-1.6.zip
Changelog:
Code:
1.6 - 11/8/13
- Added some missing libs
1.5 - 11/8/13
- Updated, based on 4.4
1.4 - 9/15/13
- Removed device checks (so it will work on virtually any device), added missing libs, and renamed mod from Install-Nexus7Gallery to Install-GoogleGallery
1.3 - 7/25/13
- Updated, based on 4.3 (JWR66V)
1.2 - 3/3/13
- Updated liblightcycle.so from 20130301 gapps (since Nexus 7 can't take photospheres, this file probably doesn't matter but I updated it anyway)
1.1 - 2/20/13
- Added tilapia (Nexus 7 3G) support
1.0 - 2/20/13
- Initial release, based on 4.2.2 (JDQ39)
DISCLAIMER:
This mod involves editing system files. Use at your own risk! Also please don't forget, before you report ROM related bugs in the ROM developer thread, you should remove this mod to make sure the issue is not caused by this mod!

Borrowing your scripts, please
I was considering trying to make something like this (an addon.d script) for the Camera and Gallery for Samsung Galaxy S3. I hate having to reflash the a patched camera zip after every CyanogenMod Nightly build.
I'm not terribly worried about device checks because I'd only be trying it for myself on one specific device initially, so I imagine it is the 77-gapps-tilapia.sh script that I'd need to look at to make edits for my purposes. It appears that there are two apks (GalleryGoogle.apk and GmsCore.apk) and three libs (libjni_filtershow_filters.so, libjni_mosaic.so, and liblightcycle.so) necessary to make the camera/galler work on the Galaxy S3.
Your script begins with:
list_files() {
cat <<EOF
app/GalleryGoogle.apk app/Gallery2.apk
lib/liblightcycle.so
EOF
}
Would it be as simple as changing this to:
list_files() {
cat <<EOF
app/GalleryGoogle.apk app/GmsCore.apk
lib/libjni_filtershow_filters.so lib/libjni_mosaic.so lib/liblightcycle.so
EOF
}
This is my first time trying to do something like this but I could see it being useful for a lot of people--the galaxy S3 is a popular phone on many carriers. Anyone willing to give me a hand?

I'm not 100% familiar with the extra files required on the GS3, but I think you want this:
Code:
list_files() {
cat <<EOF
app/GalleryGoogle.apk app/Gallery2.apk
app/GmsCore.apk
lib/liblightcycle.so
lib/libjni_filtershow_filters.so
lib/libjni_mosaic.so
EOF
}
Each line handles one file. If only one file is listed on a line, it will carry it through. If two files are listed with a space between them, it will replace the second file with the first file. For example, in my script, we want GalleryGoogle.apk to replace Gallery2.apk. The files must be the entire path within /system with no leading forward slash. Make sense?

AOSP browser without root (yes you read that right) 4.3

I have a method to install the aosp browser without any root privileges at all and no modifications of the system partition. Just involves installing 2 or 3 apks (depending if you want bookmark syncing). This should work on any of the other nexus devices that came without stock browser. This is also an improvement over the root method as it does not break OTA updates even on rooted devices.
Please don't repost this yet. I want to add in the other languages to browser.apk for the "find on page" button in the menu. I fixed English. The stock nexus roms don't have the string in framework-res for this one button.
Download zip (this is not a cwm package/just extract it or open the files from inside)
http://www.mediafire.com/download/sp3778itcps5iq1/aospbrowser-noroot-blackhand1001.zip
Steps:
1. Use es file manager to browse to system/app and install browserproviderproxy (it will say app not installed, don't worry it worked)
2. Reboot (it will not work without rebooting first)
3. Install Browser4.3_blackhand1001.apk
4. Install ChromeBookmarksSyncAdapter_blackhand1001.apk (this will give you bookmark syncing)

Updated it so the autocomplete dropdown no longer has the blue line glitch. The style definition for the dropdown is missing on the stock nexus 7 rom so I copied it and put it in the browser itself and pointed to it there.
Added User agent selection in advanced preferences.

when u say install browserproviderproxy in system/app, do you mean install the one found in the nexus7 directory, or the one in your zip file?
