Guys my touch screen quit working only 2 days after i unlocked the bootloader Everything is stock except for the bootloader. What can i do to fix my issue and whats causing it?
I'm having trouble with mine having a mind of its own it will zoom in and out on its own and things will open and close on their own as well. I suspect it's hardware issues.

I had the same problem. I know its a hardware issue but would changing the screen fix the issue or is it the main board?

Seems to be a grounding issue on the digitizer, my vote would be screen.

If you buy one, the digitizer is what picks up your touches,so I would start there.

Hey it's pio. Hey funny seeing you in here and not the thrive forum. So you think a new digitizer and not a plug or connection issue?

I was saying in terms of replacing I would replace the digitizer first, pretty cheap for a100s vs the thrive lol

Just found out that despite paying insurance every month, I have to pay a $99 "deductible " which I at first thought was a Halloween joke.

I watched one as well. Does look a little involved to say the least. I'd give it a try though, but I've always liked taking stuff apart and putting it back together. Biggest thing that looks like a pain, would be heating the glass to remove it
I have a heat gun, and I know how hot it gets, I can imagine that peeling the glass off may not be real fun. Gloves come to mind
Taking all that stuff apart though is my worry. I'm software savy not hardware and I just know il break something. A cracked phone is better than no phone

I had mine replaced. It was great for the 20 mins I got to use it. And then SDS hit it lol. If you get an official one it fits nicely.
We have a phone tech at work who did it for me and he said it was easy to do.
You think if I paid to have samsung replace it that would be best?

Well, you'd still have an intact warranty, at least.
My mrs had a note 1 and last December smashed the screen, it was approx £200 to get it replaced, which was almost the value of the device at the time. So I bought her a note 2 for xmas. She's either very clumsy or very cleaver

I smashed my Australian GN2 - but a couple of months after buying. I don't think the glass is as Gorilla as they claim. The official ways to get it fixed all seem fairly expensive but there are some diy videos on youtube and there seems to be a difference between replacing just the glass and replacing the whole screen.
I sent mine in to SquareTrade a few weeks ago. They charged me $99 (deductible) but replaced the screen and the chrome edges. Phone looks like brand new.

Is it possible to replace only the digitizer?
I've broken only the digitizer but don't know about gluing and so...
Thanks
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I need to change the digitizer, too, but I found that you can't change only that. You need to change lcd+digitizer assembly, because it's impossible to split them because of the hard glue. You might brake the lcd. Also, if you do split them, then you'll have to clean the remained glue. If you do clean that, then you need to apply some sort of glue uniform between the parts, without bubbles. That's what I found.
Now I have a problem with yellow flex cable and green flex cable for the lcd
What problem?

Sorry for double posting, but I found something.

With that, I found that my panel_id is 0x944701. After searching for that on google, I found that some users have that panel_id after their screen was replaced in HTC Service. But it's an unknown brand. So my display might have been changed before...but I still can't find if I can buy one from ebay. This one for example: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LCD-Displ...X-/251199108419?ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123
Maybe you can dig more. I'll do more research tomorrow. I'm tired now!
There's a company on eBay that sells used att screens. I got one that had a "scratch" bout 1/2 inch and it looks like a smudge... Most people can't even see it it's that in noticable.. they have a b and c stock as well as the one I got.. name is repair bowl. And they buy your busted screen

I bought an LG G2 coming Monday, and if it works out I can part out my SGH-i317. Capactive touch buttons, ribbon cables, etc. I even have the full AMOLED+Digitizer albeit with a few minor scratches (better than paying $200 I think).
It's all free if my new phone works out. The one thing I won't have is replacement front glass.

I could use the front facing camera and/or the entire phone motherboard :good::good: my wifi/blue tooth chip took a Moderator edit ...masked profanity removed. I know the actual mobo might be too much to ask, but I'd really appreciate it if you can make it happen. The front facing camera is appreciated just as much. Goodluck on your g2 buddy. You could maybe try for a screen damaged one and swap the boards out? Or strip yours down for parts and sell them off? Its not the best scenario I know but the wildfire is considered quite old now and parts will probably cost more than a new one :/ sorry pal.

well yeah it is old.but you see i am emotionally connected to my willy. it was the first android phone of mine. i wana to stick to it until it is working condition. but i never had thought about dropping it into water at any cost.
Well if you are hoping to keep willy alive I would recommended a motherboard transplant see if you can get your hands OK a cheap wildfire with a damaged screen and perform the swap, will probably work out cheaper than a new motherboard like.
