HOW TO USE A RUU
Download the RUU (duh)
Put your One X in fastboot mode and connect to pc via USB.
Lock the bootloader by typing the following command to fastboot command prompt:
Code:
fastboot oem lock
Right click on the RUU and select run as adminstrator.
Go through the steps the RUU gives you.
Thanks to nitrous², ClydeB1, DilbertZG and Mr Hofs
Re: HTCruu.com brought down.
RUU on request ..... PM me
And please add the CID & MAIN version number !
Fastboot oem readcid
Fastboot getvar version-main
READ THIS CAREFULLY !
First option is to check this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140 -------- Please thank Matt95 for an amazing thread --------
If your MAIN VERSION is there (CID does not have to match, only the exact main version) download it and place the nandroid backup in the right folder of the sdcard
Clockworkmod backup :
Clockworkmod\backup\*date and time folder*\*backup files from the nandroid*
Flash the boot.img from that nandroid (boot.img is located in the nandroid folder)
Enter recovery and do a FULL wipe and restore the nandroid backup.
Then flash back the STOCK recovery matching your MAIN VERSION.
You are ready to update official !
Stock recovery 1.29
https://www.dropbox.com/s/i98j4bhffkzwovp/Stock recovery 1.29.img
Stock recovery 2.17
https://www.dropbox.com/s/wbav46spkbznovp/stock recovery 2.17.img
Stock recovery 3.14
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ms7vd18vb9watr8/stock recovery 3.14.img
EXAMPLE :
You updated the hboot with a firmware flash to 1.39 but you have no nandroid, your main version is 3.14.206.** now you can download the 2.17.206.** nandroid backup and restore that the way i described.
you can update now to the official 3.14 JB software, but the hboot stays at 1.39. so the update only changes the software back to the highest available stock version !
And one more advantage is that the bootloader does NOT have to be LOCKED and UNLOCKED afterwards
Greetings Mr Hofs.
The end of HTC most likely the way they're carrying on.
I'll never buy another of their phones again, what with this secure boot nonsense and walled garden platform they're intent on.

This is a good example why EVERYBODY has to take a nandroid backup of their stock rom........
This is a good example of why I have finally had right enough of HTC.
The [email protected] have evidently taken over there too.
The way they're trying to destroy their own customer base and self destruct you'd think they were a British company.

I would say the "voda-hutch au" one. Give it try it can't hurt. If it is wrong it will fail at the start and wont harm your phone. Be sure to back up any SD card contets to your PC first though as it is said some of the RUU's wipe the SD. Never happened to me, but I've seen posts where it has happened to others

Hey all,
Is there anyone out there who is on T-Mobile UK and has a stock nandroid backup for the following version (1.29.110.1), I've had no luck with the RUU's and I really need to go back to full stock asap because I'm selling the phone. I
heres the info for my phone:
Currently running a custom rom (Android Revolution HD 7.2.1)
CID: T-MOB005
HBOOT: 0.96.0000

Doesn't factory reset just wipe your data and settings? I basically just want to have the default kernel and Rom on my phone that was on there when I purchased the phone..factory reset doesn't do that.
Have you tried searching, I believe there are quite a few available in the forums. Exactly what went wrong with the RUU? I have a stock nandroid backup on my phone, unfortunaly I wont be home until Thursday, and where I'm at the internet is really crap.

I've looked all over the place but can't find a thing, the reason why the RUU's provided in the rom collection forum don't work is because they are of a lower version and my hboot version is higher than those provided in the lower versions, and because s-off hasn't been achieved on the HTC one x yet I can't downgrade my hboot version therefore I can't downgrade my firmware. I'm stuck to either getting a ruu version that's the same as the firmware version I'm running currently or a newer version which match my cid. As of now there's no such ruu available so therefore I'm stuck to going back to stock via the nandroid backup method.
Well, if it's not a hurry I can probably upload my nandroid backup by friday. Are you sure it will work with another ones backup?

Yes it will work but only if firstly were both on the same network (I.e T-Mobile UK) and you haven't changed the name of the folder which contains the backup if that folder name is changed its pretty much useless. Thanks a bunch if you do share it, you've saved me a lot of hassle

The CDMA HTC One V can be S-OFF'd. All phones can. We just need to discover how. And we're close.
THANKS TO ALL WHO DONATED! WE NO LONGER NEED ANY MORE DONATIONS!
sellers86
slzy405
This process is 100% safe. HBOOT won't let us brick using this method.
THIS METHOD IS NOT WORKING YET!! WE STILL NEED TO FIND FILES!!
We'll need to create a Goldcard for our phone. You may have heard of Whitecards or Javacards, but a Goldcard on a CDMA is better than either of those. We don't have SIM card slots where those devices really work their magic.
Create a goldcard by running the application "SimpleGoldCard" in the attachments (unzip first). BACK UP YOUR SD CARD.
Connect your SD card to your computer (Recovery in phone or MicroSD adapter).
Backup SD card
Wipe SD card.
Place SD card back in phone.
Get CID (MMC2)
Copy CID
Go to URL in application
Paste CID
Download .img
Load IMG in application
Patch MMC
You now have a Goldcard. Now you need DIAG files to clear S58. I have such DIAG files for the CDMA HTC Wildfire S (marvelc/a510c/PG76DIAG.nbh/PG76DIAG.zip), but I have no such files for the HTC One V (primoc/t320e/PK76DIAG.*). However, I think I may have found such files on a Chinese phone hacking site. You'll probably need Google Translate to read them.
http://www.52sjwx.com/read.php?tid=80081
http://www.52sjwx.com/read.php?tid=80079
http://www.52sjwx.com/read.php?tid=74089
It could be any of those files or none of them that will clean our S58 and give us S-OFF. I contacted the site admin. It costs $30 for an unlimited number of downloads on their site. Many XDA users already have access to that site, so if we can raise money to download from that site or find a user with access we can get those three files and I can check them to see if they clean S58 data or not.
Our S-OFF process would go like this:
Use Goldcard method above
Put a PK76DIAG.nbh and PK76DIAG.zip file on SD Card root
Reboot into HBOOT
Clean S58
Reboot
Have S-OFF
This is the process that the HTC Wildfire S and many other devices use. HTC devices still recognize Goldcards and there are still DIAG file leaks, so it is possible that we can get S-OFF. Also, if any of you know anyone who owns or works at an HTC repair shop, we can work out a way to get the DIAG file that we need.
we still need to have the DIAG file

I apologize for not being clear enough. This is method is not yet working. OP updated.

Unless you have a way to help with this, asking "Is it done? Does it work?" will NOT get us any closer. If that can't be handled, then I will request the closing & deletion of this thread.
Would people that received S off devices via HTC have any access to the files needed? I'm sorry if this is a dumb question
Sentfromybrain
No they would not. However people who released the files on xda before would. A lot of people here have the 30 dollar account and can get the file for us. However we cannot download until we find such person!

I know it's logical that the versions have to match and you will find it in the settings tab, however i wanted to know it correctly, as it isn't mentioned so far as it will only work with the matching version.

Stock RUU ICS for CID Vodap_102
Hi there,
Since starting this thread I have a question/suggestion:
Could somebody please place a good working link to the stock RUU and the needed boot.img when coming from Custum ROM.
Before flashing Jelly Bean and coming from this thread it is more easy then looking and searching around with still doubting about the correct RUU and boot.img. This will also reduce a lot of questions in this thread I believe.
As you guess I am one of the persons who can not find the correct files on a good link .
Thank you all.
Regards,

Hi there.
I'm really, really new on this subject, but this weekend i tried booting my HTC One X into Cyanogenmod. Unfortunately i was not satisfied as my Internet Browsers (Built-in and Chrome) kept crashing.
I now want to get back to the Stock ROM, but i'm uncertain what to do. I browsed this page for way too long last night, but there was no help to find.
Upon installation of Cyanogenmod, i createda back-up which i tried restoring from, but after that it could not boot, and this very moment i'm scared i bricked my phone or something.
While my phone was working i downloaded the correct Stock ROM and placed it on my SD-card. I tried installing it via recovery mode, but the installation aborted.
Any help would be fantastic, but please keep in mind that i'm new on the subject, and english isn't my primary language.
Cheers.

My initial problem was solved now by following THIS LINK, and my phone Booted. Unfortunately it's stuck on the screenlock, and it appears as if the touch-screen and buttons doesn't work.
Think you need a newer nandroid or a newer sense rom.
The nandroid must match :
Fastboot getvar version-main
The outcome of that command. Newer hboots have updated touch panel drivers which causes older nands and roms not to respond anymore on touch.

That was my concern, but this was the only one i could find that matched my CID, HTC__Y13
4.18.401.2 is the outcome of the command.
Then you can use any of the 4.18.401 nands from the collection thread. It's wwe interchangeable. Or flash any custom rom you like

In the general section - collection of stock backups you can find many 4.18.401 nands....even mine is there. Stop looking for the cid and use any of them !

Jesus christ. Something's got to bother me all the time.
Tried about 50 times to get into Bootloader, but it simply won't!
