Hey people.
I'm completely noob into all this, I'm currently using the myONEv_RC5.0.fx for my HTC One V. But It has gone so slow.
I flashed Titanium kernel which allowed me to overclock upto 2.16 GHz. But its not helping me thought.
I wanted to flash cyanogenmod on my device. What should i do? From where do i get the Cyanogenmod 10 for my One V?
Plus how to flash CM10 compatible kernel? Somebody please help me with this, my phone has gone so slow. :crying: :crying:

Thanks dude.. this is what i did,
I made a nandroid backup..
Copied the cm_primou-ota-eng.Lloir.zip onto the SD card
Booted the device in recovery, wiped the cache and did a factory reset and selected INSTALL .zip FROM SD CARD.. Its just showing cyanogemod animation and nothing happened for atleast 4-5 hours!
Am i doing anything wrong? Please help..
IIRC, you need the Hellboy kernel for cm10.
Do a nandroid backup FIRST.
1.put ROM is sdcard's root.
2. Put boot.img in fastboot folder.
3. Boot into bootloader, from there select fastboot and flash kernel in fastboot.
4. Then go into recovery and do full wipe and then install ROM.
5. Boot into ROM and then again boot into recovery and then flash gapps.
Download this kernel and flash it-
http://www.mediafire.com/?lo2ctaplonbdh
Select this kernel from the list-
boot-HELLBOY-201212251747.img
Flash the kernel using this command-
fastboot flash boot boot.img.
Refer this guide-

hi, im currently in leedroid's v2.0 rom and v2.0.2 kernel. i want to download and install the newer kernel. how do i do it? do i install the zip in recovery mode? need help again guys =) thank you so much =)
Just download it, put it to your SD, go to recovery and "select install zip from SD card". Then you can select the kernel, and when it finishes, reboot system.
wont i have bootloops? cause i read some people are getting boot loops when flashing kernel in recovery
That is of course one possibility. You just have to take the risk, my Kernel Update Utility does not support LeeDroid kernels yet. You can fix the bootloop by flashing your ROM again.
An easier way would be to do a nandroid, if it goes wrong, just use the advanced restore, to restore /system. But i have been flashing kernels from recovery since i got my hero and have never had any issues......

I'm on CM7 actually and I have flashed a modded kernel, if I go with an update of CM7 does this overwrite the custom kernel and I have to flash it again?
Sorry for bad english.

if you flash a new rom, you will get whatever kernel comes with the rom, so yes maybe you will
So,I tried installing CM10 following instructions from lloirs thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1835285).
I flashed the boot.img in the first step because he says it is a better option.
After that I proceeded to flash the CM10 zip file, but the install failed.
After that my phone wouldn't boot, so I did a restore from CWM and now my phone is stuck on the HTC One screen for a good half an hour.
Please help. Really need the phone tomorrow.

Hello this is my first post and I come to request some help.
I have a htc one v and was trying to update to jelly bean through steps from Android Authorty's guide
After completing this set of instructions I booted up my phone and sadly all I got was a htc screen with the red writing which then turned black and nothing happened after that.
Im pretty worried right now, I dont have much knowledge about androids and I have but a clue as to what I have just done.
Is it permanently damaged? How do i fix this or atlest restore it to the factory state.
Please help!

as for the OP: make sure you also flash the KERNEL for the respective rom. it is not enough to install only the ROM. You need also the kernel because we currently have S-ON devices.

OK so i figured out that i am truly a noob.
I was attempting to install the CDMA version when i needed GSM.
Proud of myself for solving this i went to install the gsm version but sadly now i only get the htc screen with red writing.
It dosent change from there.
Have i done permanent damage because i installed the CDMA version!?
now im getting something really weird my phone goes to the htc screen with red writing then shuts off by itself and then turns on again by itself in a endless cycle of this red writing htc screen.

Alright... let's get your phone fixed!
I assume you have:
1. Unlocked bootloader
2. Installed a recovery
3. Installed a custom CDMA ROM
4. Then installed a GSM ROM
5. Now phone keeps rebooting?
Is that correct?
hi..i have been trying out different ROMS and have been successfull at doing it.
when i first rooted my phone i flashed PACman v15, used it for a while and then kept flashing different ROMs
I then flashed [ROM-PrimoU|GSM] [18.3.13] myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Sense 4.1 Lite), which also booted correctly..
i then decided to flash another jelly bean ROM. however none of the ROMs available are able to boot.
I also flashed the appropriate kernel, wiped everything, nothing works.. kept getting boot loops.
so nw m back to [ROM-PrimoU|GSM] [18.3.13] myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Sense 4.1 Lite) this ROM.
could anyboody tell me what i could be doing wrong?

I don't know if it will create any problem or not. But i had once issue like that.
I installed PimpMyRom and did some tweaks. After that i rebooted my phone and at that time my device gets soft bricked.
So i just thought it might be that issue.
Just try reflashing rescue package if u have downloaded it.
And if you are sure that u have not done any tweaks then its ok.
But the thing is that you are having a strange problem, so its worth a try.

well for 4.2.2 roms u need a 4.2.2 kernel
and Paranoid Android 4.2.2 is not stable(doesnt boot even with kernel)
so if u want a working phone, flash A sense ROM since you're already on Titanium KISS kernel
and for jelly bean, u can try Shpongle
but remember to flash the correct kernel
