I flased to cm10 last week and I used the gapps pack that Chad suggested (20121130). Now goo.im is telling me that there is an update to a pack that is before Chad's release (20121212).
Should I update or is there a reason that Chad linked to an older gapps pack?

I am not one of the developers. But I have tried to flashed the newest gapps updates on OG running CM10.1. It kept force close after I flash it. Then I flash back and it is fine again.
You can try flashing it but better do a backup first.

Once installed, you dont need to flash a newer version, the gapps will update automatically via Play Store.

No, you need to manually update to Cm 10.1. This is because you need to do a full wipe when upgrading (System/Data/Cache/Dalvik). You will also need the newest version of GApps (12/12/12). Also consider what happens to your InternalSD when upgrading to a 4.2 ROM in regards to the /0 mutiuser partitions.

If you wanna make the jump, be sure to backup first. A full wipe will be needed.
You're currently on 4.1.2 so it's quite a big jump to 4.2.1 (a lot of new features, different UI, etc.) - Anyway, after a full backup, you should be good to update if that's what you want to do.
PS.: 4.2.1 has a borked BT audio streaming. If you use it a lot, there's a flashable zip called 'revert my alsa' in the CM10.1 thread to fix it.
Hi guys,
I'm trying to install CARBON-ROM on my LG Optimus G (E975 TELUS). So, my cellphone are rooted, I've install ClockworkMOD and Carbon-ROM on it.
When I'm booting up, I see the Carbon Rom bootlogo and after short time, I receive this error message:"Unfortunately, Setup Wizard has stopped"
I'm sure it's a gapps probleme... Unfortunally, i'm not able to get the good gapps version!!
Any link or suggestion?
Do you have the E975 (international) or E973 (Bell/Telus)? They're quite different.

TELUS version...
God... E973 and I've try with the E975 ROM
I'll try to find the E973 ROM and I post back my test here
Also, i've found online this Gapps: gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip
Suppose to be the one I need with my CarbonROM verson!
Test #2
Test #2
Once again, i'm really pissed off by my LG... I've own lot of phone; Blackberry, iPhone and Android but this Optimus give me lot of headhache
So, I've decide to do this swap with all the step possible, maybe too much!
1. Factory Reset/Wipe Data
2. Wipe Cache
3. Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Install CARBON-JB-UNOFFICIAL-20130911-0632-geeb
5. gapps-jb-20121212-signed
6.a Reboot
So, the CarbonRom load, Android setup work #1! But I've 2 issues (after only 10 minutes of testing)
a) Android Keyboard are not showing, so I can't use the keyboard!
b) The return button (Arrow on the phone) are not working!
Any idea?
I think You are using wrong gapps version.
For JB 4.3 based rom - gapps-jb-20130813-signed[, for JB 4.2 based ROM -gapps-jb-20130813-signed.zip.

So, I have been running 10.1.3 for a while, and now that 4.4 is out, I want to flash a 10.2 nightly (4.3) so I am not too far behind.
However, When I try the usual way of updating the ROM through the CM Updater, my google apps dont work... (like play store, messaging, dialer, etc.).
I will be flashing GApps to see if it fixes it, but does anyone know if it will?
Thanks!

It might work, but my best recommendation is to clean install CM 10.2 since updating from CM 10.1 could cause a lot of errors.
Thanks for the reply!
So flashing the gapps package seemed to work! However, the Google Apps (drive, hangouts, music) would force close.. But a simple uninstall and reinstall fixed that issue.
Running 10.2 snapshot m1 now with no issues! Can't wait for cm 10.3!

I've been looking for the thread for the latest stable version (3.99?) of PA, but can't find it. When I go in from the AT&T ROM section it goes straight to the 4.0 beta. I also went on their website, but the ROMS are different names and I don't know which one I would choose. It would be better if I could get a link to instructions too, so I don't run into problems since I have never installed PA before. Thanks!
The paranoid android team doesn't officially support your device. You need to find a port for your device

Go here;
http://goo.im/devs/paranoidandroid/roms/d2att
The latest version is pa_d2att-BETA-3.99-RC2-20130921 and it's pretty stable. You'll have to flash it using TWRP instead of CWM. Make sure your bootloader/modem is I747UCDLK3, otherwise it won't flash. It works with the latest 4.3 GApps as well. Hope this helps.

Yeah, thanks! Flashed it and works perfectly.
When it comes to gapps is there any reason to go with anything besides PA's version of them for non tw roms?
I am trying to save space by not having the cm version then the pa version and then whatever other version some rom says I need.
What I would like to do is keep a set of the different packages of the pa gapps and the pa ota update app so I can just install the gapps and the app and if an update is available then the ota app will just take care of it.
No one has an opinion?
