Thoughts? Would you like to see it on the LGOG? Open source built from Linux.
Meh, it doesn't look all that exciting. I'm more interested in a WebOS port to the OG, or Ubuntu mobile.
+1!! Web os.^^^

I'm interested. I don't know that it would really be something I used daily, but I would sure like to try it.
I do agree with the other poster though, WebOS and Ubuntu are exciting too.

Once we get Cyanogenmod going, firefox os, web os, and such will be alot easier. I do not know about ubuntu mobile since it is so new though.

This. I did b2g on my epic and it's just slightly modified cm device trees, so once we have those done, we will be good to go. I didn't love it but some might.

I hope I don't get flamed but I just wanna know if this is possible. There is a windows phone with the same specs as the S3 not released yet (forgot the name of it). and i would also like to know why it cannot be done if so.
Anything is possible. Is it likely someone will go through the trouble of trying to do this when you can just buy a WP8 device? Probably not.
Also, just because 2 phones use the same SoC doesn't mean they can run the same software without issue.

Thanks you for the response, definitely answered my question
One problem is that WP8 is not on open source like Android. Your phone needs a license to use it.

Hahaha I had enough with WP 7.
Hey ho!
Is it already possible to run Linux (Ubuntu maybe) on the Note 2?
I don't mean in Terminal, I mean "on the real hardware" now without Android.
Yes.

I did but only found the "Ubuntu for phone" and "Ubuntu for Android" one. I don't mean those either, I mean REAL ubuntu like you use it on the desktop, maybe in dual-boot.
BTW: It's also a forum rule to search before create so I did
Yeah Ubuntu for Android is in progress and probably next month will come to gnex and soon to us.

Saw this on the main forum board of devices. Thought it would be cool to have on our devices as we seem to be picking up steam. I haven't the slightest clue to build anything so just wondering if there are any developers willing to take on a project like this. I'll post a video from YouTube for the OS Demo.

Please look at this link. It is an article from Engadget with hands on video of this OS, and guess what??? It says the source code has been released to DEVS.

It's really cool how they expanded upon Microsoft's idea of live tiles and made it so you can interact with it! Will this be shipping on devices?
I'm not sure if it's even released yet, but the more vids I watch, the more I like it

You asked what android version does it work for, hence I said it's not android. There is no mention of it running a similar structure to android like firefoxOS, so if the hardware supports it, the android version won't matter at all.
The video says it might be premiered on Nokia first.
Looks like they opened a forum for this on XDA. Jolla Sailfish
To be totally honest with all, some will agree with and some wont, but i dont care how many ways you twist and turn it,ICS,JB and Sense is all the same, stacked side by side(i do mean the UI),all these new roms look the same but have different tweaks or a new theme,im guilty of it also,it continues to look all the same, thats why im gonna do some serious researching into this Sailfish OS and try to drop it on the EVO world,i think its time for a change, for us that have fallin behind.
It hasn't been released yet. There is actually a thread for it on XDA.

as in Chrome OS, or just Chrome the browser?
Chrome Browser can be installed from Playstore, but I think you are talking about Chrome OS, and as far as that goes...there has been no development on it.

Yeah but if you think about it the hardware on the latest phones are more then adequate for Chrome OS. If some developers could get together and make it work it would be awesome and I'd be willing to donate. Imagine a phone and a semi full os when plugging into a monitor.

I think it has no devs here yet
