When I did this, I had to ODIN the stock .tar file back on to fix it. I could still get into download mode, but not CWM
Go here and get ODIN(if you don't already have it)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1722686
Go here for your stock ROM(I hope you remember which you were on)
EDIT - you're on a Canadian model, not sure if the stock file is the same as the AT&T version but if it is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848
When I did it, all my apps and everything was still there, but I had to redo the root and reinstall CWM again.

I just switched over from iOS and found the guides on here were easy to follow and didn't have any issues . Getting the right downloads is probably the key
And what do you mean by "Phone will not fully boot after flashing a rom" How far does it go when booting and what happens?
Just boot screen doesn't fully boot

It is worth the trouble if...
A. You know what you are doing.
B. You read and research.
C. You know how to recover in the event something goes wrong.
Flashing isn't for everyone. Even if you follow directions things can still go wrong in rare situations. That's just the nature of flashing.

Every time i install any of the custom rom on my Hong Kong GT-N7105; the screen flickers on the Samsung intro screen and then it goes dark. If I press the buttons a few times it'll finally come on, but it does it every reboot. It also doesn't recognize the SD card and corrupts it. I'll finally get aggravated & go back to stock. What can I do different?
Another question. Why do I have to wipe & reset settings every time before it will reboot on stock after I install it with Odin?
I got an answer 4 u bro. Dont root it again and stop doing it, ok. If u don't know what you doing, then don't do it. It's 4 your own good peace-out

Well, that's about what I decided to do. I don't like stock 4.1.1 looking like Gingerbread. I sure had a lot better luck doing my Note 1 that is when i stayed away from the D2att Roms.
Make sure you are installing a custom rom for the N7105 because the roms for the N7100 don't work on the N7105.

I try to use ones that have t0lte in the file name.
I have the same issue like yours few days ago but i manage to solve it. The problem lies with the root file. May i know what file did you use to root your phone? I use cf-auto-note2 on my N7100 but after changing it to CWM.... it works like charm. Do try it out.
Previously... after root or flash custom rom, my screen flickered. After changing to the right root file.... it is solved 100%

Well, I tried to install the Paranoid JB again and it flickered on the boot again and goes black. I couldn't wake it up til I reinstalled stock again. I may just have to bite the bullet and run stock.
I had a backup of stock before root but when i tried to back up to it today it gave me a md5 mismatch so i couldnt back up to it. From what I seen in beaups thread that I need to be on a stock rom and stock kernal for his s-off method to work. Is there a stock rom that I could flash to use the s-off method?
I'd like this answered as well. I think andy's stock rom near the bottom of the page works, but I haven't had a confirmation yet. Also wondering if odex versus deodexed versions matter.
Same boat im in just waiting for somebody to say which one we can use when we are already rooted and unlocked. I dont know how my md5's mismatched on my stock before root backup but I can't go back to it so Im kinda stuck here until we get a answer.

SUPER MEGA ULTIMATE DISCLAIMER: IIRC = IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE IF THIS DOESN'T WORK/SCREWS UP YOUR DEVICE/BRICKS/ETC. YOU ARE WARNED. THIS WORKED FOR ME IN THE PAST WITH MY GALAXY NEXUS BACKUPS USING CWMTOUCH 6.0.3.6 AND 6.0.4.3.

I HAVE NEVER USED TWRP FOR BACKUPS. IT IS A MERE SUGGESTION THAT THIS METHOD WILL WORK WITH SIMILAR RESULTS. I HAVE NEVER BROWSED A BACKUP FOR TWRP. ANY ATTEMPT YOU MAKE USING A TWRP BACKUP IS OF YOUR OWN COGNIZANCE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

IIRC: If you have an md5 mismatch while trying to restore in a recovery, try this process:
IF YOU HAVE A BACKUP I HIGHLY SUGGEST STORING THE BACKUP FILE ON YOUR DESKTOP JUST IN CASE!!!!
Boot into whatever ROM you're on ATM.
Browse to your ClockworkMod (or TWRP backup must have an accessible folder for it's backups) using a Root file explorer, which I happen to use "Root Explorer" and open the backup file you just made.
Inside of that will be a nandroid.md5.
Delete that file and reboot into recovery, and try restoring again.

Hi!
I've been trying to root the LG P930 from Bell for the last couple of days, and I've tried essentially all the guides and nothing works
It's running 4.0.4 and s/w version is LG-P930-V20e-Jul-22-2012.
I'm at wits end now, trying to root it!
I tried the latest Framaroot, it didn't work, I also tried the "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v33" method, and that kept getting an error along the lines as "couldn't find ric" folder. Another common one I tried, where I had to copy "LG_SystemBackupTest.apk" and then reboot, etc kept getting an error where it was permission denied copying superuser and busybox.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what else I can try??
Thanks!
Did you try Matman's unbricking guide? I don't think there is any way to root unless you go through the unbrick process.

I believe you need to revert back to GB in order to unlock the bootloader and get root access which the unbrick process requires.
I highly recommend using a WinXP x86 machine if possible. I didn't have much luck with x64 machines.

This is the one I used on 3 different Bell P930 phones: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1784709
Is your phone unlocked? If not, it might be best to unlock it first, then install a custom rom. With a custom rom, you may not always get the prompt to enter a network unlock code.

Try uninstalling the LG drivers. Reboot the computer then reinstall, then reboot. After that use the LG mobile support tool to update the phone back to v20e. Then try the root method again. Just remember to follow the steps precisely.

Try running the CMD as administrator, I have done 3 times the hereric method and it worked.
So in the end, I managed to root, yay!!
It ended up being because of my computer it seems. I was using a macbook pro with windows on it, and it seemed to just not work. The minute I tried another PC, the hereric method worked on the first try basically
The only issue im having now is, finding a proper ROM. The Avatar ROM works, but it keeps crashing randomly for some reason, no matter the version I try
I've rooted my Bell P930 using this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044645 ... i was failing using windows 7, but succeeded using WINDOWS XP.
EDIT: nevermind, i just read your above post, bleeeeh =) as for you crashes, i dont really know avatar, but FULL WIPE before flashing a ROM is recommended in my experience.
FULL WIPE:
Factory reset, wipe system, wipe dache, wipe dalvik.
Flash ROM, flash gapps, reboot .... if that doesnt work you might want to try another ROM, CM10.1.3 is pretty much to more stable of all, personnaly im using CM11, not having any issues other than my phone slows down when battery is running out, still in developement.

Congrats mate I suggest you flash one of the most popular roms the Cyanogenmod 10.1.3 (stable) which is equivalent to the stock android version 4.2.2
Unless you want to try the nightly (not stable) version of cyanogenmod 11 which refers to android kitkat.
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=p930
And I recommend flashing also the WIND kernel, very friendly kernel for the battery and for the CPU.

Don't forget to wipe your phone before flashing the custom ROM

Also when i try to reboot it says Set Warranty Bit: kernel on the top right. What can i do? everytime i try to reboot it gets stuck there. Also on a possibly unrelated note the backup was compressed when i made it, do i need to decompress the file?

Should be good to go. Just put in download mode (as looneytunes said earlier), connect device as well as inserting tar file in correct slot. Should work just fine. Please post back with results. Just want to make sure your good.
Did you check MD5? I find habit of doing so now to ensure its a good download.

It's kinda really hard to permanently brick these phones. As long as you can get to download mode you can usually get back with odin.
