Hello
My phone charges from about 9% to about 5 hours. Is this normal or do I have to give it back to the warranty?
If I understand correctly, it charges only 9% in 5 hours. That is definitely not normal and you should send it in for a repair. Are you rooted? If not, let them repair it for you.

The loading was 5 hours from 9 to 100%. Soft is the original (again locked bootloader)
Sounds about right. Hox is known to be a slow charging phone.

This may sound weird or I missed something, but lately the charge on the phone drops DOWN after reaching 100 while still on charger.
Like this morning I woke up after having the phone on charge all night. The battery symbol showed it was fully charged and wasn't being charged no more, notification light was on to indicate the charger was connected, but battery status widgets all indicated 96 percent battery.
No CPU intensive program running in the bg. If I remove the charger and reconnect it,charging starts again normally. Tried it on two batteries. It's a o2 desire. Using original charger.

The Desire will charge the battery if the battery level drops below 90%. This can extend the lifetime of the battery.

is this a fact? that it will charge it back? Cuz I never was brave enough to let wifi running cuz in the morning i still need the phone and sometimes i have several giga avi files to transfare.
That's new for me,will give it a try and report back

I see the same behaviour. Using JuicePlotter, I can see that overnight the battery will drop from 100% to 90% before charging back to 100%. It does this over a few hours.
Cheers
Simon

Please don't duplicate threads, look here, there is another one about the same issue.

If we all post in the same thread it will be easier to follow its evolution...

I dont think this is true as I managed to deplete my desire in 24 hours and it was still connected to the charger.
Sorry, tried searching using my app but couldn't find one. Thanks for pointing out.

First of all, is it rooted? If yes, what rom do you have? You have custom recovery?
If not try this. Charge the phone and when the green led is on power off the device and leave it to charge for another 1 hour.
No it is not rooted. The problem is that the green light never appears because it doesn't fully charge.

Nvm
Will do. I have never let the battery drain completely. Do you think that can be a reason why it's not charging. Thanks

Yes, quite likely, kill the battery then off mode charge it over night

Same problem
I had the same problem with one week old VM One V. Charged to 80% and no more. Discharged (auto turned off at 10%) and it charged to 100 one time. Then charged only to 84%. Discharged again, went down to 6% before shutting down. After a couple more cycles, including unplugging after "full" charge to 84%, then replugging and getting to 100%, finally two days in a row woke up to a green light and 100% from a 20-30% level at bed time. Only issue now seems to be two widgets show different battery levels, e.g. 63% on battery monitor widget pro, 53% on Elixer pro battery widget. The icon at the top looks more like 60%.
Not rooted, waiting a while. Love the phone, wish it were dual core, but runs as well as my Droid X and much better battery life. Nice design and feel.
have you resolved your issue Relgozen??
Yes your advice was very helpful. Should I continue to charge my device only when the battery dies?
Thanks again

A friend of mine told me that his Note 2 GT N7100 is charging from 20% to loo % in only one hour.
the Battery usage is Normal as it withstand 10 hours with heavy usage.
He bought it a month ago.
Is this normal or he should go back to the reseller?
He is using original charger by the way.
thanks for your help.

Firstly install Galaxy Current widget and check the current that is getting transferred how much Volts, Make sure you try this with the Wall out let as well as USB from your pc and make a note of it and let XDA know here and we will suggest if there is any problem or not.
also mention if its complete Stock or Rooted and What Mods are implemented ?
Ok I'll do this first and let u know.
Thanks a lot.

i have to charge my note2 for 4 - 5 hours.
Is it normal? i want to charge faster. What should i do?ยด
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Average normal charging time from 0 to 100percent is 2hours, regardless of the rom, from an AC wall charger. And about 4hours from a USB connected to the computer. 1hour is very unusual, I would suggest doing a full system wipe and reinstall the rom. If the charger is delivering above normal current then it may damage the battery in the long run.

Hello, I'm new to this form. Okay so today I traded my galaxy note 1. For a nexus 4 and an HTC one x. I was really excited to see the one x for the first time. The one x is with AT&T. When I took it home and plugged it in the charger the red light on started to flash which I think means the battery doesn't have enough power yet, so I waited until it would be steady. But when I looked at it after about 10mins or so, there was no light at all. Unplugging and plugging back in didn't work. When plugged in for along time it just keeps flashing red for abit then stops (repeatedly). I can't power it on at all or go into bootloader.. Etc.. I've even tried doing the hold volume up and down with power button for 2 minutes, nothing.. So now I'm just thinking it's defective. But before I sent it to HTC to diagnose it, I wanted to see what you guys think it is and how I can possibly fix it. Now the person I got it from said it needed some kind of jtag fix for $50 but idk what this is at all. I'm just hoping to god it isn't the main board that is damaged. The bottom area where the soft buttons are is cracked but it's not serious. Another thing that I'm not sure is normal, is the power button, it feels very soft when I press on it and I can't feel it click at all htc told me this could be normal cause the newer one series phones had soft power buttons. I thought the power button was the issue, but the phone won't even charge. The most I've left it plugged it was about less than an hour, I also saw people saying if you plug it in a computer it can fix it, but Idk how that will solve the issue, I will be going to a friends in the morning to try that though. Anyways that's about all.. I hope that someone can help me with this, and If I can fix it I will be sooo happy! Before I go to bed I will leave it plugged in all night to see what happens. Thanks.

Seems that way, if it does not turn on after hours on charge. And all button combinations don't work either.....then yeah, nothing you can do really.

If i send it to htc they will be able to do something to figure out what's wrong right? I mean everything is fixable.
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes everything is fixable, but it might cost you money. If it's not rooted or custom rommed (locked bootloader) then you have the biggest chance on getting warranty.

Hmm. Well is it normal that the power button feels soft and no kind of clicking in it to know weather it is being pressed down or not? Also if the phone is flashing red when charger is plugged in does that mean the port is still okay?
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well mine has a little click when i press it. Can't say for other hoxes, haven't had that many in my hand.
Yeah port is fine, my guess it's a hardware fault. Maybe the battery itself is faulty or the battery circuit is not functioning the way it should

I've left it plugged in for about 40m and it's just blinking red every 7 or so mins. My power button I'm afraid is broken.. Maybe that's why I can't get any signs that it can turn on or not.
Sent from my Incredible 4G LTE using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Well the blinking should be static red after a while. Leave it on charge for many hours (8-9) and then try again some button combo's

So I plugged it in my computer and it said it was in a download mode. And the guy I got it from said it needed jtag repair. Which I think that's what it is.

Hi
I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with this phone a while back after flashing a new rom (mildwild I think) my phone started to shutdown at around 80 or 70%. I've tried charging it a few times but no luck so I tried my spare battery which I think worked at first, it lasted till about 20% but then it started to shutdown at 80 aswell. I gave up and got a new phone but I like to try and get this one working again. I've flashed it back to stock gb with the ruu but it's still the same I don't think it's charging the batteries fully as after only about a hour the led turns green.
Anyone have any idea's on what's up with it?
Thanks

The same thing has happened to me so basically you need a new battery because yours could be old and check if its bloated.

I was thinking about trying another battery but they aren't that cheap. It seems odd that the 2 batteries would stop working around the same time tho.
