Firstly install Galaxy Current widget and check the current that is getting transferred how much Volts, Make sure you try this with the Wall out let as well as USB from your pc and make a note of it and let XDA know here and we will suggest if there is any problem or not.
also mention if its complete Stock or Rooted and What Mods are implemented ?

Ok I'll do this first and let u know.
Thanks a lot.

i have to charge my note2 for 4 - 5 hours.
Is it normal? i want to charge faster. What should i do?´
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium

Average normal charging time from 0 to 100percent is 2hours, regardless of the rom, from an AC wall charger. And about 4hours from a USB connected to the computer. 1hour is very unusual, I would suggest doing a full system wipe and reinstall the rom. If the charger is delivering above normal current then it may damage the battery in the long run.

(Q)How long does it take you to charge phone?

How long does it usually take to charge your s3 fully? I ask because mine has always charged very fast but lately its taking sooo long to charge and I dont know why..what do you guys think?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
with the standard charger came with S3, usually took around 2h30 to fully charge.
Mine used to charge super fast but now its taking soooo long.. its takin me an unusually long amount of time.. any body know what could be up ?

I can't really tell you a time exact but not that long. Last night I was at 50% plugged it in and charged completely in bout 45 - 1hr. I usually don't touch it tho.

Takes me a about 2hrs. With the charging accessories that came with my phone. Are you using the original charging accessories?

Rogue app.
Yes everything I use is official samsung came outta the box.. I had been flashin quite a few roms then went back to complete stock lj4 and it just seems like its taking way too long to charge.. ive never noticed this problem infact I was always alarmed at how fast it would charge

With the phone turned off, it takes mine about 2 hours to charge.
When you flashed this last rom did you wipe data/factory reset?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I have a Q: My rom (SlimRom2.9.0) has an option for Quick Charge mode, where it will charge faster but you loose USB connectivity functionality (for connecting to a computer).
Will the SGS3 also take advantage of a higher output (2.1a) USB charger, ala iPad chargers? Does the circuitry inside detect and is smart enough to adapt?
Look at the battery stats and see if something is hogging it. Get something like battery drain analyzer to see the percentage you're charging at.
You guys think it has anything to do with the stock lj4 kernel? My battery life kicks ass 4 hours screen on with 17 + hours of battery life.. still charging is slower than usual. Hmmmm

I would try to drain the battery all the way down, then with the phone off, recharge it back to 100%.
After that see if there's any improvement.

Could it be a faulty battery?

Like most others on this post, my GS3 will take roughly 2 hours to charge.
Depends where I am charging from, usually I end my day with around 20-30% battery life still.

It could be. But to be sure id do the full cycle I mentioned before, and even consider flashing back to stock! Just for testing. You can always nandroid and go back if you like. Though a fresh rom flash may be better.

I use the charger from my 10.1 tab. I believe it runs at 5 amps. Definitely charges faster although I've never timed it by how much. If I charge it on the wall charger that came with my chinese batteries, it takes over 9 hours sometimes. Yet the chinese batteries only ever charge up to 91% on it's own charger, I have to charge the rest once I put it in the phone. Weird.

How long does it take for a full charge? [Culprit: Bad USB cable]

Well I need to know from you guys, it's not that I don't know, but need to reconfirm. I think mine is taking much lower now than it was. A full charge, say from 5% to 100%, with Stock charger?
Thanks in adv.

Charging from 0 to 90% happens in no more that 2 hours I would say. from 90% to 100% the charging rate gets slowed a lot. So basically shouldn't take more than 2:30 hours from 0 to 100%.
Thanks guys. Now I remember it was 2 hours 45 mins for me too at first.
Today it took 4 hrs 30 mins. Reason? I'll say tomorrow, after confirming.

I rarely charge it to 100%, usually to 70 or 80%. much better for the battery in the long term
Any research or refrence for this longevity ? I heard its always better to charge 100% ?

you are welcome. the general rule is to try to 1) avoid charging to 100%, really diminishing return the higher it goes; and 2) avoid deep discharge cycle. I usually use 40% of the capacity at work everyday, so charge to ~70% in the morning, use down to ~30% and then charge again. charging time in this range is rather linear, about 1 percent a minute

Yeah, it happened to mine too few days back. My Note2 went crazy, taking around 7-8 hrs to fully charge from 15%. So, i tried searching about the problem on google but to no avail. Did a factory reset with cache wipe and problem solved :good:. Now it takes about 2.5 hrs to fully charge from say 10% (using the samsung wall charger with phone switched on). I can only say that the slow charging was caused due to some software but don't know exactly which one? You may as well try the hard reset if anything else doesn't work out .
P.S : Btw i'm on stock fw with no root or mod! Only did some OTA updates couple of weeks ago.
Guys, we have a changeable battery and is already writed Inside to android that it won't charge to 100%, it just shows at 100% but really it is at 95%-98% that feature came with 2.2.1 update 2yrs ago.
And we can change the battery after 2yrs for 20-30$, unlike Nokia lumia users or HTC one x or iPhone users.

Yeah, thanks. But if you've Watchdog installed then you can see which app is going over threshold and keep running on background. And yes, this time, again, the culprit was PowerAMP! Uninstalled it and voila. The same app created problem for me when I had my S2, charging was pathetically slow, even I had to go to SC and they said battery is gone. But I didn't believe and asked a techy friend and he said it might be some app, and damn right he was.
Anyway, if anyone having the same issue like mine, that is, charging duration has increased with Stock charger, then install Watchdog (the lite version will do) and see who is the culprit.
I have no idea how a top app like PowerAMP could cause this! Jeez!

How long does it take you to charge fully?

Hey just trying to see how long using the stock ac wall charger does it take to charge from 0-100. I used to think it charge super fast but latley I feel likes its taking an eternity. I flashed few roms and stuff amd never noticed this. I did use another cord a few times before I noticed this.. could another non stock cord mess something up? Anyways. Any suggestions and info will be appreciated. Its charging at about 15% per hour.. not good at all.

Welly phone still takes an eternity to charge left it on the charger for 4 hours stock ac charger and it was at 87 percent only. Do u think its a battery or phone problem? Im biying a new oem battery but would this help me? I just need charging speeds back to normal its very frustrating takes about 5 min just to go up 1%

Kernels can affect charging rates, but I don't understand how they could make it "slower". Cables are also not created equally. Put your phone back on a stock Samsung ROM, either 4.1.1 or a n7105 4.1.2 with a stock kernel and stock ac charger with cable should get you from zero to hero in right around 3 hrs.
When you plug in your charger, check battery settings, make sure it says "AC Charging" not "USB charging". Every once in a while when I plug mine in it says USB. One night, when I plugged it in, it didn't even register any charge! I restarted my phone, and all was working again. I get a full charge in about 3 hours.

Thats the thing im stockd out even unrooted odind back to 4.1.1 tmobile stock using original charger that came with the phone still nothing. Takes forver to charge! And when I have the phone on it takes like 5 min per percent. And when I first got this thing no matter if I was using it or not it would charge so fast. I wouldnt be surprised if this thing is takin 5 hours from zero to 100. Ordering a new battery hopefully this helps

What to do?is dangerous for my note?must stop recharge? I used about 2 times every day for full recharge and in this time i use internet.

Is it Chinese?
Is it from a trusted company?
Did you noticed any battery drain or lesser battery life or longer charging time with normal charger?
Possibilities are the car charger isn't optimal for your phone.
Buy from a known store or a Samsung dealer or some other trusted or reputed store.

Try the charger with some other phone.
You really need to charge it with a wall charger or pc to property diagnose the cause.

Install "Battery widget Reborn!" or any other app that has such feature - and tell us how many degrees does the battery heat up to. If it's over 40-50 celsius, there's definitely something wrong with it.
