I've installed the doom kernal and arconium 7.1 rom. Previously was using arconium 6.0 and random boot loop occurs especially when i was charging my phone, still occurs when i'm not charging.
I tried flashing with arconium 7.1 instead and thought it might fix the issue but sadly it didn't help.
any solution for this? really need help regarding this issue.
Have you Undervolted? Unlocked/locked bootloader? Did you try doing a complete fresh start? So not only wipe user data, but a compete ftf flash or wotanserver flash.

I installed the stable cm9..flashed the fxp133 kernel..the installation went smooth but my screen touch function is lost..Any ideas??
Eventually restoring to the stock kernel with JJ hybrid..and yeah the touch is working with this one. So is the problem cos of the kernel or the ROM??
I ll tell the sequence which i followed..let me know where i went wrong..i downloaded the ROM, extracted the boot.img, copied the original cm9 zip into the root of SD..used fastboot mode of flashtools to flash the kernel boot.img..then went into CWM..wiped out SD data..then cache..and then dalvik..and then proceeded to install zip from sd..it installed fine..and then i rebooted..it showed d FXP kernel logo and then CM9 bootscreen and then it loaded like it should..BUT the touchscreen isnt working at all..the hardware keys-power and back i checked were working but not the touchscreen..
Where did I go wrong..i am on baseband -72..bootloader unlocked..
You've installed correctly. Possibly a corrupt download, try re-downloading the zip.

I downloaded both official stable CM9 as well as the FXP one on uploaded.to...tried with each of them but with the same result..both cant be corrupt n it wouldnt have extracted if it was a corrupt download anyways..m still wondering whats wrong..
Also I flashed doomkernel and tried installing..again the same..touchscreen still doesnt work..aarghh..
Flash the kernel, wipe data, system, cache, dalvik, battery stats and flash cm9.
It should work...

I did all that but the stupid touch screen issue still persists..wait..i didn't clear battery stats..but do u think that actually might create such an issue?

Wiping battery stats does nothing to your phone. It doesn't change anything, it doesn't affect anything. It cannot be the problem.
Then what do u think the problem is..infact the installation works fine so i think i m not messing up anything on that front..

Probably best to use flashtool to flash stock ics rom and kernel, then cm9 kernel/rom.
I would try another Kernel ... do you have an Arc or Arc S ... does someone know if it makes a difference ?

Hey everyone!
I'm having this issue with FXP kernels.. When I enter the CWM, with key pressing the screen moves! some graphic problem, I dunno what is it
Any idea what is the reason for this? I've tried couple of FXP kernels, I wiped and formatted and did everything and still same
I have Arc S
It's a known bug bro. Just use it anyway.

This can happen when u flash custom kernel with CWM pre-install (CWM latest). Don't worry. It is OK.

thnx man i will look for them i appreciate it .. also would u mind telling if the cwm from xparts app all i need to install the rom? can i keep the stock kernel from my 2.3.3?
Use version 5 or below... The newest version doesn't work correctly.
"We are the fire that will consume them, belly and bowel, head and heart, many flames of us, but one fire."
Root GB 2.3.3. Use CWM Installer v5 to install CWM. Flash NXT Lite rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2067356&highlight=cdma. It work with stock kernel, which is why you don't need to unlock bootloader. But remember its free to unlock it from Sony site. Personally I recommend using Flashtool to update to kernel 2.3.4, when you flash the ftf you can uncheck everything, but the kernel.

Hey guys I stumble on. Installin nxt rom I get a error saying md5 Mismatch u guys know nthing bout this? Thnx

It mean the checksum didn't match up which mean the rom file is corrupt. Do a disk check on your sdcard.

Also make sure if you are downloading a flashable rom or a Nandroid backup. If it's a nandroid you have to put it in /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup and Restore it.

If you changed or removed a system file on your stock rom, whether it was a browser or one of the gapps, you'll get an md5 mismatch. This has happened to me on one of my tablets, I flashed a stock factory rom to put everything back into order, then flashed the custom rom after, and all was well.
Thnx guys I will try the scan disk on card see if it work when I get home ... N I never removed anything from previous stock rom so I dnt know ... also so a terminal emulator fix but dnt know how to do it I'll keep u guys posted
thnx

Follow the instruction from the rom thread, it's a nandroid, you have to restore it, not flash.

Alright so after trying all kinds of stuff I found a fix for md5 Miss match .. I simply just took all the spaces of the folder name .. example: rom super 1 I just renamed romsuper1. OK so I followed the rom tutorial and all went good but after I rebooted it started with Sony Ericson logo then a Expedia logo the went back to Sony logo then Expedia logo n so so it wouldn't boot ... so i did the same process again ass tutorial but this time didn't clean dalvik cache like tutor said too before reboot. And it started fine .. my question is .. is my from now messed up maybe cuz I sent clean dalvik? Should I do all over again? I appreciate all patience and help

So did you restore the nandroid backup and booted into the new NXt rom successfully? Then you should just do a factory reset.
Before you flash a rom or restore you should always do a factory reset or the phone might not boot, in CWM this is equivalent to choosing "wipe data/cache", this will encompass the wiping of dalvik cache which is contained within /data partition. Doing this will clean off personal data.
Sometimes you have to "wipe /system partition" as well, this is equivalent to wiping C:/Windows, as in the entire OS is gone. Then you have to restore a nandroid or flash the rom otherwise the phone has no OS to boot into.
You can choose to wipe only cache and dalvik cache, these are just temporarily files. I do it before making a nandroid backup.

Yes I got it to work successfully.. but I did not do a factory reset after.. wouldn't that wipe the from I just recovered? Thnxs for all ur help man.

Hi guys, so I flashed the PAC rom but don't really like the feel behind it and miss my old ROM.
I'm just trying to downgrade, but I found that flashing my old ICS ROMs in recovery won't work. I really don't want to use the flashtool, but if I have to, I will. Flashtool has just given me problems before and I don't want to brick my S.
Any ideas on how to downgrade from PAC (Jellybean) to ICS again using recovery mode?
P.S. Tried searching, not much came up related to the Xperia S so I wanted to ask.
Sv: [Q] Downgrade from Jellybean to ICS
Recovery... As of you have a backup? If not then flash ics kernel and install ics rom...
In this order..
Flash ics kernel
Wipe all.. System, data,cache, dalvik
Install ics rom
Reboot
Works for me

I do have a NANDroid backup (I think that's what they're called, anyway) but of course that gives me an error when flashing (something about the boot image.)
But I skipped the first step that you mentioned when flashing the ICS ROMs, which is to Flash the ICS Kernel.
Thanks! Worked.
I agree. Flashtool just gives problems.

Which backup you have cwm or twrp.?
U want to use ICS than try cm9.1.that's better.

Flashtool just works better on Linux... It will produce lots of redundant files on Windows. So if you only have Windows, try using a virtual machine. It works fine with VMware workstation.
Just use Flashtool to install official ICS first, and then install your custom ROM.
