Hi guys,
I want swap the sdcard 1,70Gb with external_sd how i do?
I've tried through cwmod6 by unmount /sdcard and mount /external_sd but with no success.
Some solution?
Best regards
easiest way is to mod ur vold.fstab , search the forum for it and how mod is applied and tell me if u need any explanation
Here you go:

Note: you need JB or ICS for this method, I will post the GB one later

Hello all,
Just rooted my Desire (finally).
I can get su just fine... cool.
Now I have been reading that to get rw on /system I need to be in recovery and use adb. Is this the only way to get this rw?
Also where does the mounting of these fs take place? I found /etc/vold.fstab but that on is just for the sdcard.
If I can change the boot mount parameters would be great.
I also created an ext4 partition. Didn't try to mount it yet. But if I add this to the vold.fstab, when does the system mount it, at the end of the boot process or at the beginning? Because I was wondering if I can mount it and move/link some stuff to this partition aka app2sd to save some internal storage.
BTW I am running the HTC Desire unbranded stock rom (still).
Thanks.

Only other way to get ro is to s-off with alpharev.
There are two scripts for apps2sd I've used. Firerat's and darktremor's. If you search the cyanogen mod nightly their links are in there.
Ok. Will read about that... thanks.

link2sd cannot mount its scripts on stock roms!! That's why you cannot view the 2nd partition!!
@leodasal2
No buddy.... I'm using link2sd on stock rom... And it's working awesome.
I think he doesn't have problem with ext partition but the fat32 partition
This happened to me once your sdcard must be failing, you better backup your data before it says format unable to read device

Ya I'm on stock kernel as in signature, and I can create link also.
No problem at all.
Im also on stock Rom& stock kernal and link2sd is working perfect for me....
but i had these problems before....
I experimented many times by relinking and recreating mount scripts...but the problem came once in a while.
But after that i've backed up the .apk s and cleaned up the second partition and cleared data(settings-applications-manage-link2sd-clear data button) and now again used link2sd, created links and now the mounting problems are over! hoo....
Try formatting your sdcard,
Backup first in your pc, or delete your ext partition using minitool partition or easeus partition, make it (your sdcard) empty , copy paste cwm to your sd, and flash it via recovery , goto Advanced n then choose Partition SD Card . Hope this help..
Also, if its not working again, try deleting "content holder" or something like that, on /system/sd . Use root explorer (recommended) .

Hi guys,
I have my clockwork mod folder on my external SanDisk 16gb sdhc...does anyone know how to be able to restore this way? Does the backup have to be on internal storage? I don't see a "mount ext sd" option in mounts...
While I'm asking this..
When you move apps to external do they no longer show up in your app drawer...? I'm using go launcher but it seems they disappear when I move them to external sd card.

I would like to know about using the external sd card for cwm instead of internal as well....
by default from what I read CWM uses the internal SD card but I believe I heard some people mentioning on the forums that you can modify something in the kernel or a config file somewhere to change this. Unfortunately I do not know how sorry.

Ive looked through every kernel thread and just about every rom thread and dont see anything about being able to switch it over to using your external sd card for backups....it sux but guess its not possible yet
There is a few posts in the CWM thread that talk about swapping the internal SD for the External SD.

Can you please mount external sdcard instead of internal one.
/etc/fstab:
Code:
#/dev/block/mmcblk0p4 /sdcard vfat rw
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard vfat rw

then he says he did it like this below:

Thanks, but not needed. I swapped my internal/external storage and this recovery now perfectly fits for me - my .android_secure is backed up by backup tool now - that's only why I asked.
How about adding
Code:
/dev/block/mmcblk1p1 /sdcard/external_sd vfat rw
/dev/block/mmcblk1p2 /sd-ext ext4 rw
to the fstab ?

Ill have to give it a try, kinda scared too cuz im a noob at that kinda stuff but i appreciate the help!
ok so im using root explorer, opened up the fstab file to edit and am stuck there, not really sure where to add those commands at...i think it would just be easier to leave it on internal storage lol
Yes it would be easier to leave it as it is. Lol. I have modified the fstab in Linux but not on my phone. If it is the same type of file you need to make sure you are opening it as root and there should already be a line with your current file system being mapped and simply replace it with the new line.
my recovery said that E:failed to mount/sdcard(no such file or directory)
E:can't mount /sdcard
unknown sources is enable
what do you think is the problem?
Maybe the zip file is corupted
I will give the link

Edit:I am now using S2E.
What is the best setting for performance?
Here is the process, hoping it can help who would like to partition your sdcard
1.Backup sdcard data
2.Reboot into recovery, advanced > partition sd card
3. 1024MB, swap 0 (You can choose your own size, I heard that this swap doesn't matter much so I choose 0)
4.wait until it finished; it may take a few minutes
5. reboot and install S2E in Google Play
6. open S2E and you can choose what you want to move to sdcard
---------Originally I was trying to use A2SD but couldn't make it work.---------
The link is dead.

where can I download the .sh for gio?..
I found one for Ace and it can't be opened in Terminal Emulator
I am using Droid GIO v3.2
Can anyone help me? Also, is A2SD the only one that can move dalvik cache to sdcard?

What is the best settings for performance? It seems that data and dalvik cache should be kept internally
