Hi guys
I've used sabsa prime and now cm (whichever one is 4.2) and my battery drains to 1 percent within half an hour and it stays on 1 for hours of use

Try to calibrate you battery using better battery stats app. Or wipe your battery stats in recovery.
try betterbatterystats, make sure there isnt an app draining your battery and making wakelocks to keep yourcpu running

If our suggestions doesnt work, i think you should replace your battery.
I'm not quite sure how to use better battery stats... It can't be my battery because before on the stock rom the battery was great

Try battery calibration from app store or clean battery stats from recovery.

Agreed, calibrate the battery. If not try CM7 with a fresh calibrated battery.

Oh god its unusable now, its on kangbang but its unbearably slow, the battery jumps from 4% to 99% and when I unplig it the phone shuts down randomly. Most apps make the phone freeze up and I have to take the battery out. Could this have anything to do with I used HTCDev and flashed a custom boot.img and the rom in CWM?

Install BetterBatteryStats to figure out which apps are eating your battery. And I'm assuming you full wiped (system, data, cache)?
More to report.
I've moved to my 5th and hopefully final rom (viperhd) and I still get the random reboot I got on every other Rom. The battery is still horrid but speed has improved. I have no idea how to use better battery stats. And I tried battery calibration from the market and wiping battery stats, both did nothing

In BBS, take screenshots of kernel wakelocks, partial wakelocks and alarms after the phone has been on battery for awhile. Post them here.

Have you tried installing current widget to see what is exactly happening, or how much voltage is going through your phone, even though it's sleeping? (ie, screen off)
I have not tried yet

This happened to me a few times (with almost no apps running) on RC7. Updating to 2.01 seems to have fixed that for me.
If that doesn't help, try using a different kernel and/or a different radio version and see if that works for you (we're reduced to experimentation as nobody has ben able to determine what exactly causes this issue).
I'm well impressed with mine. I went to bed with it fully charged, used it a bit in bed, always play a game and check the forums. Not plugged in at all and woke up this morning and its still fully charged!!
Amazing, since I have yahoo messenger running always. Been using it a lot since I woke up and now on 96% but I know its mainly the screen that uses a lot.
Brilliant ROM tbh
See if this helps:

Is it in your status bar that it shows the incorrect value?
Try going to Settings > About Phone > Status
It should tell you the correct value there. If it still shows up as the incorrect value i believe it could be a problem with your actual battery.

In your case, you don't need an app for calibration. Since you can't get your phone to show correct status, reboot into Recovery, go to Advanced and Wipe Battery Stats. Reboot phone, Run Wifi, Bluetooth, Torch, Music and anything that could drain battery faster altogether until the battery runs down and switches itsef off. Try recharging and see the result.
Hope it helps.
Cheers.
Thank u so much to all of u..

Its happened to quite a few people since I've been around this forum, dont think anyone has pinned down a particular reason for it happening and the only explanation from HTC is that its a mobo fault........

i have been experiencing the same problem with the battery .. doesn't seem to get past the 70% mark. I started noticing this few weeks into using CM7 ( currently using CM7.2 RC3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1698029 the issue still remains) At first i found out that if i reboot my phone after putting it to charge , it would charge all the way to 100 %. But slowly that too started fading and now nothing i do gets it above 70%. even got a new battery to no avail, and i cant get more than 5 to 6 hrs with the battery .. the battery drain is incredible
am i using an incorrect kernel or something ?? any help is appreciated .. thanks in advance !
My opinion is its something to do with your phone itself, if it was software/kernel related we would all most likely get the same problem as we are all using the same piece of software.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
I too have this problem mine does not charge beyond 79% sometimes 75%. With my experience this is too do with the kernel that CM7 uses. If I restart the device it will show 100%.
If I go back to the stock kernel the charging goes all the way to 100%.
Either my charger has broken or its the overclock-able kernel.
I have tried every other method out there.
The battery performance is good BTW.
I really like this rom and everything it has to offer in terms of ics and all. But can someone explain why the battery drain is so ridiculous.

I have never used Miui Roms, so i can talk about it with certainty, but roms take a while to settle...at least a week after flashing it to assess the battery life. Make sure that the screen brightness is set to automatic and also make sure that u disable all the animations that usually come as default. but again, just give time for the rom to settle....
OK I'll wait I guess. But its been killing my battery like crazy. Even in sleep mode. The battery will drop like 9% and even gets the whole phone hot. Its not even being over locked either. Is there a way I can monitor the usage?

Phone getting hot is not normal with any rom. I would say download the rom again, full wipe, install a few basic apps and check what happens.
If it still gets hot try a different rom.
If it still gets hot after that, it could be a hardware problem.

This will not solve the problem of battery, only will correct battery status .. drain will continue
I had that battery drain too.I was getting like 7 hours top with mild use.Im using 4ext recovery and i flashed jellytime like this :
Do a nandroid backup
go to wipe options from 4ext recovery and select "wipe everything except sdcard" option
then flash jellytime r30 (i recommend this or PipelinerArd's cyanogen 10.1.Im using it atm and its perfect not a single bug that ive came across and no battery drain at all.But you can flash sabsa if you want.If you want it to flash jellytime you need to flash original GB sense 3.0 and boot then flash jelly and the gapps.Damn thats a long parenthese)
then gapps
and reboot
after that if you still having drain issues then you better get a new battery.
If all won't work, you must do a Full Wipe and Flash the ROM again
Install Better Battery Stats. Look at your wakelocks and alarms to figure out what apps are draining your battery.
Thanks guys! Will try all of these and get back to you ASAP

No. It's weird to hear this. I found Sabsa ROM best suited for DHD, esp the battery performance. Try reflashing the same Rom 3-4 times and use ARHD superwipe.zip before flashing. I have used this Rom till the last minute of use. I miss it on my Sensation XL.

Whenever this happens to me I just start from scratch. Back up any of the stuff I really want to keep (pictures, and themes usually) and then do a factory reset/full wipe, battery stats and cache etc. I then reinstall the rom, or install a different one.
This has always fixed it for me, infact it has fixed most problems for me. Overheating and lag as well as battery drain!

Task manager is what you need. I know it was discussed many times and classified as redundant, but I had same issue like you. Fully charged battery was dropping faster than petrol from my bmw 540i. Within 4 hours down to 54%. Now, installed Clean Master from play store, and using built in task killer and can tell you its a HUGE improvement. With this app now battery show 82% in same period with same settings. Try it out and you'll see...
