In a word...yes.....
If you're supplying a ROM that you've tweaked, that ROM has still been developed by somebody else....it's still their work, you've just tweaked it. So yes, you need to give credit/thanks where it's due...and ask permission to change then upload the changed ROM before you start......

Must be GB based

ROMs being ported
---------------------------

[ROM] Blackberry OS6 v1

Bump :/
As you can read in the first post I couldn't port the blackberry rom
As VoetbalRemco already said,
Its better to do ports YOU want and share them with us.
otherwise ports will get sloppy cuz you just want to get them done, and well, i like to be surprised
BTW, I see you havent port any ROM yet (or is that part just to keep track of completed REQUEST roms?)
But, make sure you are able to port a rom before you take requests, makes requests faster

[Q] Voodoo kernel implementation

I wanted to ask if we can already enjoy Voodoo kernel on our Captivate Glide. I have read that Inception mod implements it "partially", although I cannot post there yet to ask what's meant by "partialy"... I just don't want to spam to reach 10 posts threshold.
Does Osimood implement the Voodoo kernel (partially, or all?)
Hope you can tell me
Cheers
Tony
AFAIK osimood uses the latest dman's kernel. so it has the same kernel functions as inception ROM.
Yup, I am suspecting that too. Maybe dman or CarpeNoctem can chime in at some point, and tell us which features of Voodoo are currently enabled. I take Voodoo improvements are already enabled by default when playing music with my app of choice... Right? Or should I install a separate apk? (like Voodoo sounds plus, from the market)
Cheers
Tony
Is it possible to get dman's kernel separate from either rom?
I would like that too. So people who'd like to keep close to the stock esthetics, could still enjoy dman's wonderful kernel without having to work on Inc3ption rom to undo some of his work.
i already asked that in the inception thread and dman said that you can use the kernel without the dependency of any rom.
Awesome. Where can the link to the kernel be found?
And if there's no link, is it possible to pull the kernel from one if the roms?
So any news as to separately impement the kernel? What further development is there to make?

which rom do you keep going back to?

helo all rom testers
I am a 2 year old user of android
I come from Optimus one P509
I flash rom back and forth constantly with that old phone and there is always one rom I keep coming back to (if you want to know I keep coming back to oxygen rom for P509)

What he said. As far as touchwiz goes, TDJ's Darkside Evolution blows the others away and CM10 is what it is. Super stable and Jelly Bean.

I would have to say, the stock Koodo 4.0.4 ROM. It's the only ROM that I'm able to flash on my phone through Odin that is completely clean of anything custom.
Helps when trying to troubleshoot installing custom ROMs with pretty much a clean slate on the phone. Cheers!
Hehe nice to meet a fellow O1 owner. I came from the Optimus One P500.
Oh, this phone can run on Skyrocket ROMs. Just flash a rotation fix and bam.
On topic, I think I prefer the CM10 nightlies as I keep going back to them over and over. However, I'm starting to use the Touchwiz 4.1.2 UCLL3 leak for the skyrocket. And also the stock Koodo ROM mentioned above was alwaysy previous choice. I still want to go back to it because its clean, no bloat at all.
Enjoy your stay!

wow good news. I didn't know we can run skyrocket rom
what is d2tmo? I thought that is for galaxy SIII ? as I am reading in liquidsmooth dev thread
I like vanilla aosp experience but I will not disregard stock samsung touchwiz rom either
I consider stock samsung rom as vanilla experience in it's own world
now that you mention 4.1.2 leak from skyrocket I may try that if it stable.
on second thought maybe I stay with koodo rom
I still got a lot to read in this whole new phone...

You are correct about 'd2tmo' being a GS3 ROM. Whatever you do, DO NOT FLASH IT! There are already enough posts on here with a person saying they 'bricked' their phone.
If you are still planning to flash a custom ROM, my recommendation would be trying one of the All-Star Devs ROMs. There are too many ROMs to link, but if you search up for threads created by Tmogalaxys2 or android88 in the 'Development Section' you will find any of the Team's ROMs.
Hitting the image on the right of my signature will also lead you to one of the ROMs. Good luck!

D2tmo is s3
Make sure you read and flash for Hercules aka s2
so the different between liquidsmooth and liquidsmooth all star is:
-Android 4.2 themed
-Android 4.2 launcher
-4.2 clock
-4.2 fonts
-4.2 keyboard
-4.2 boot animation
-Many build.prop tweaks for better performance
-Pimp my ROM tweaks
-Seeder Script
-Velocity Tweaks
-AC!D Audio
-Xloud
-Bravia Engine
-Nibbles Kernel
-A lot more!
is it possible to mount internal SD card in CWM? if so which version of CWM?
I don't have micro SD card

Correct, the All-Star version is basically the same as the official Liquid Smooth ROM with extra features. If you are asking your question in regards to flashing the ROM through internal memory, yes, it is possible. Just place the ROM files on the root of your phone.
Also, rather than using CWM recover it is recommended to install and use TWRP 2.3.3.0 on your phone as it is a more up to date recovery system.
How has no one mentioned AOKP? I've tried a few others, but it's always back to AOKP.

If I understand you correctly, you want access to settings through the 'notification bar'? Almost all custom ROMs now should have an option to add "Power Widgets" in the notification for quick access to certain settings if that's what you're looking for.

AOKP is pretty good but I feel CM is a little smoother and stable. Could be wrong as I haven't tried aokp in awhile

@corwest: Oops! Didn't mean to hit "thanks", so have a free one on me!
To the OP, I keep going back to PACman rom. In my opinion it is the best of cm10, AOKP and ParanoidAndroid, though going through the settings can be a little confusing to a newbie since AOKP's Rom Control and CM10 seem to redouble some of each others settings including toggles in the notification drawer (you will notice two sets of toggles active when you first boot the rom). That's the only problem I have with it. (Isn't it great when you can complain about having too many options?)
Kooodo stock rom that I have customized a tiny bit (deodexed with a couple simple mods). Its fast, stable, and has great battery

I always go back to darthstalker version 4. Favorite rom so far, only feature i really wanna keep that no other rom(touchwiz roms) has (maybe i'm wrong) is the ability to record phone calls, and the crt effect. I love touchwiz from the s3.

[ROM Request] SlimROM for A100

I use a SlimROM (see http://slimroms.net/ for more info) version for my phone and was wondering if someone would be interested in building a version for the A100/A101. It is very fast and includes a lot of feature, 4.1.2 or 4.2.2 w/3.0.xx kernel. Please let me know, Thank you.

You should get their permission before even asking someone to kang it for you. A100 runs a 2.6 kernel btw.

There is a contact form for "Customized Projects" here: http://slimroms.net/index.php/contact/11-customized-projects but I don't believe that they are actively taking new projects, though I doubt that they would have issues with it since many other Kangs running their sources. I really wish that I had the time, patience and experience to try to build it myself. If it doesn't happen, oh well, I tried.

[Q] Need help on a new kernel for Gingerbread v2.3.7

Alright I need help compiling a new kernel for my new ROM called
Ginger OS v2.3.7 CM7 for the galaxy s4
Can I use a stock boot.IMG on it or do I have to build one t make it support gingerbread, sdk 10 v2.3.7
If yes disregard this or let me know
If you can help I need you to make a kernel for me I don't mind if you add your name to the kernel but you'll be credited for the development of my new ROM?
There's nobody here. -- Crickets chirping in the distance -- Tumbleweeds blowing by --
It'll probably be easier to get yourself a Samsung Captivate and throw the S4 away. (Or donate it.)
