Is the PAC man ROM for the toroplus, maguro, toro, crespo etc etc etc?????
look in the dev section and you will see which gnex version its available for
.........
Thanks boss.....I am pretty sure I did that and usually on goo.im it will say which it is for but there is only one d/l i am seeing im going to check again.....I just wanted to ask: is there universal ROMS.....(ex. a developer only makes one rom but it is hybrid on ALL devices, it just has to be flashed, cache cleared, etc) I have read extensively about Android Rooting for a good year now, and I have NEVER seen something like that so I basically am answering my own question, but maybe I am wrong........
no there are no universal roms for the gnex.. you have to check if they are maguro or toro, and then flash the one that you have
It is for the gsm gnex I am currently in communication with the developer and I have a beta to test for the Verizon variant of the ROM. It cannot be released without testers though so if you know someone with the Verizon gnex and wouldn't mind testing the ROM just have them pm me. I have the ROM link. There will also be a toroplus version soon also.
whats going on did the the dev or devs ever port PACmann for toro plus??? I see team syence is that official or a port of a port got a topic/question for senior members and android rooting gurus..... Which ROM do you guys prefer and for what reason..... Jbsourcery4.3, paranoid android(latest builds) and for what reasons.... And would PACman ROM even compete with those two Roms.....? And those two ROMS r my preferences

Noticed there wasn't really any PAC builds for the toroplus. I just compiled one if anybody would be willing to test it as I don't have the device.

I've noticed that the repository in the Dev section doesn't really get updated very often. So, I'm making a new one that I will keep updated as new ROMs/Mods and root methods come up. If you don't see a ROM/Kernel/Guide listed, let me know and I'll get it on there.

Awesome job. I was thinking about putting an updated repo together for our section, but I decided against it, but yours is great.
Now, I have some constructive criticism and/or ideas for you which you can decide to either use, or ignore.. but here are some of my thoughts.
(I've included info, followed by a link, followed by the bb-code for simple addition to your list, excluding formatting (you can add that :highfive: )
From what I've seen, most of the best roms we have include Adreno libs and GPU Driver Update, so I suggest adding them:
I personally recommend the GPU Update if using CM10.1 (or roms based on it):
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
HTML:
Update (GPU) (KGLS) drivers
The Adreno 220 drivers should be a useful addition, even just for dev purposes if nothing else:
[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}
HTML:
[Driver] Qualcomm S3 Adreno 220 GPU ICS Flashable Update {UnSigned}

And I also suggest including some of the available p930 dev information that you've missed:
Might be obsolete, but might want to throw it in:
[DEV] LG-P930 Source Code- Let the deving begin!
HTML:
[DEV] LG-P930 Source Code- Let the deving begin!

Also seem to be missing V20e Telus Stock by HO!NO! , or it may be improperly labelled:

It may also be a good idea to include some popular themes and apps.. I love the MIUI x4 Apex/ADW/Go theme, and the Touchwiz 5.0 theme for CM10.1 and there are also several very useful threads, and information in the Android Development and Hacking sub-forum.. Might want to take a look there, and include some of the good info provided there.
As I mentioned above -- and this is just a thought -- I suggest simply copy/pasting the thread title instead of the way you have some of the roms, and such labelled; as they are somewhat misleading to a native English-speaking person (me), so I imagine people less fluent in English may have more trouble finding exactly what they're looking for via this thread. Again, as I said everything I've suggested here are simply that - suggestions. I am not trying to tell you what to include, or how to make a thread, and I hope my tips are useful to you.
Thanks again for taking the time to put up an updated repository, and taking on the responsibility of keeping a thread updated for our section of these awesome forums.
Thanks NFleck! I've added the ones you listed to the repository. I'll go through and find the popular apps and such when I have more time.

No? They're for the lg p930.. With some being ported to the korean model.
Never heard any mention of being compatible with the lg spectrum.. Although with the same processor/gpu there could be some cross-compatibility. I'd look in that sub-forum for dev...

I'm terribly puzzled
I've have spent 16-19 hours on my computer trying to find the best Rom for my LG Nitro HD. I have explored each and every thread above read and studied the comments one by one, over and over again trying to find a good and stable Rom. probably one that works fine. fast and smooth. I'm a complete android noob, android is not common were I'm from in Africa. People here prefer Blackberry and Nokia Asha phones so all I have is you guys to help me. I know there is no perfect ROM out here, there is always one issue or the other. when i was going through the threads i got confused so confused that i cant make any decision. I have not installed and tested any Rom before. I don't want to risk and use my phone for experiment. I use LG Nitro HD AT&T Unlocked. Please guys tell me which Rom that has Good-Normal battery life, sensitive digitizer, smooth and fast, less random crashes, application compatible, Bluetooth and data working, camera and 1080p video recording working and most of all does not require unbrick process. May not be as good as what i listed above but anything close to that will be well appreciated. Please help a brother. You guys are way far better and experienced than I am. I know how to install Roms, Root ETC. dont need to teach me. Please all I need is suggestions.

I'll hit the most important point first; the need to unbrick. If you are running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread) then you will not have to unbrick; merely flash CWM once you are rooted. If you are running an official 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich, I regret to inform you that you will indeed be required to unbrick. No way around that and it's really not as hard as it looks.
My answer is going to be quite general as the important qualities are fairly static from ROM to ROM. That being said, the ICS and CM9 ROMs will likely be your best bet as far as stability and battery life go. CM10 and up seem to be fairly stable as well but go through battery much faster than ICS. For the most part, the other qualities you have listed are quite close to being equal across the board. Some may be smoother than others, but in my honest opinion, the differences between ROMs - outside of battery life and 'bells and whistles' - is negligible and tends to come down more to personal preference.

Thanks for the reply. I'm running Android 2.3.5 (Gingerbread)/ Rooted. did CM9 Roms Eliminated the the Lag that comes with LG Nitro HD. I noticed that the phone doesn't run so smooth compared to other dual core phones (Skyrocket, ETC) and the screen digitizer does not register your touch so easily. Did any of these Rom tackle the matter? I'm ok with just the normal Battery life. I'm thinking of Liquid Nitro. On your opinion Does it seem to work for you?
hi everyone i have just got myself a DHD and was wanting to start developing a rom for although i seem to be having great difficulty in finding a good working jelly bean base rom which wont piss anyone off if i use it...
if anyone has any recommendations please let me know.. it must be jellybean though as i dont wanna be developing on old stuff...

You don't need roms for that, you need kernels try Franco's kernel. Cynogen is the most stable and bug free ROM out there.

Please if you could provide me some more help in this.
Thanks a lot.

Get the latest version from here and be sure to select the correct device or you know..... Brick etc...
You can find many kernels on the development section of your device
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development this is for maguro
You can use others but I prefer using Franco kernel as it is very easy to flash (you can download it's app from play store just type Franco kernels and download it. You can use auto flash option from it)
Remember these things are very tricky,it can make your device unusable if you install it incorrectly so..... Take care
And yeah nightlies are official so you better get them from their website as they are fully tested and it is less likely to go anything wrong with them

thank that person and yeah it is for maguro

I know that people generally stick to Cyanogenmod due to it's stability, but I think it is overrated due to the fact that they support so many devices. I would prefer ROMs where the devs actually have the device, and focus on the device since they plan to have it for a while.
With that being said, here is my favorite ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/rom-omnimetal-linaro-omni-rom-t2550477
I haven't had any issues (like apps that force close) on it, and apps run fine. In fact, I have also switched to ART and it is pretty stable and blazingly fast. My test was its battery life, and it lasted me close to 7 days on standby with groove ip running on it (receiving calls, texts, etc.), and 2 days with active usage with a sim card.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for atleast reply and suggesting me some ROM which is i ever try.. but now i am little confused, for selecting ROM, I made my mind as per last reply ROM from CM11 Nightly and Kernel From Franco but now OMNI i need to learn about that too.
Can anyone have suggestion on that or give me little more light on ROM.
Thanks
Its good to have choices
If you are new to flashing ROMs, usually CM 11 is an excellent choice.
However, to me speed, low RAM consumption and good battery life matters, so here are the reasons why I chose that ROM:
1. Linaro toolchain - Here is a link to explain why it is faster than standard CM:
http://www.androidauthority.com/linaro-android-is-up-to-twice-as-fast-as-stock-android-92831/
2. Dirty_V kernel - For speed, most of us Nexus users feel it is the best. It is an improvement over Franco's kernel
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-nexus/development/kernel-dirtyv-t2613655
So, I usually choose a ROM which uses the linaro toolchain. I also got a ton of cool features like notifications, omniswitch, etc. which you can read about in the ROM link from my previous post.
In the end, I am just giving you suggestions. Why don't you try creating a nandroid backup and then flashing many ROMs to see which one you like? Using the nandroid backup, you could always come back to the tried and trusted CM 11 !
Here is a small intro to nandroid backups which may be useful even in the future in case you mess up your phone with a bad update:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/NANDroid
Hope this helps! :good:
I'm switch between 2 Roms.
Remix
Vanir
Bothe stable and fast.
CU
Litening
Thanks really ! I'll definatly read and try on of that, but first I'll take nandroid backup and learn how to restore etc.
CM11 is good but some time its response very lately specially when charging.

You might want to try omnirom (google for omnirom download, you want the maguro version).
They push daily updates (I install updates every 1-3 weeks). They closely track AOSP (meaning a new AOSP will be made available ASAP). It's a very stable rom and I'm running it my nexus 4 and a modified version on my Galaxy Nexus. It's been incredibly stable and reliable so far. Oh, and its 4.4.2
No try omnimetal! No try vanir! No try liquidsmooth! No try Xenonhd!. So you need to test everything. These threads are useless and not allowed. Choose one you like. Every rom is stable unless specified otherwise..

Pick the one from the omnirom.org download page. All others are remixes - cool stuff you can get in this forum, but not the most stable experience.
Hi, I'm sorry if this is not the spot to post this but i am looking for an android 4.4 rom for my verizon galaxy nexus. I want to use AOKP but they took down the 4.4 rom for this phone and it bums me out as i also want to use franco kernal and AOKP was the only rom that supported it. I wanted to either use AOKP or and old version of Cyanogenmod and LineageOS only has version 13 of their roms and i think they are Android 6.0. I have had performance issues on anything Android 5.0 and higher and Android 4.2.2 Official release no longer supports some of the apps that i use. Any help would be nice as Android 4.4 is kinda the sweet spot for this phone and I had the same issue with my Droid Razr. Found an old Cyanogenmod android 4.4 rom for it and its perfect. Any help would be nice. Thank you!

I wish they had one for the Droid Razr but sadly they dont but i did find an old Cyanogenmod rom for it and that worked. I have also noticed that they run better on kitkat. LineageOS has BAD performance issues on these old devices. Thanks Again!

I do agree with you KitKat provides the best performance on these legacy 1GB memory phones but I would recommend that you use one of the two most recently updated ROMs (unlegacy android / omni), both from 2018 rather than these almost four-year-old ROMs...

I have heard of omni rom but I have never heard of unlegacy android. Could you provide a link to the site for it? Also the mobile app does not do well with going to other forums so I am not sure about the links above u sent for the two roms.

So whats the difference with Tune and toro? sometimes i see it called tuna and other times toro????
There were three main variants of the GNex. The US carrier-specific ones were toro and toroplus, while the rest of the world were all maguro (despite there being many different model numbers). All three are subsets of tuna. The various custom ROM communities have tried to unify their builds as much as possible, so even where final builds are still separate, a lot of what's inside them is generic tuna.

Yep. Emphasis on "should", of course (as with any custom ROM - sometimes even with stock  ).

Good to know thanks. Which room would you recommend for 4.4?

No idea, sorry. I went from stock 4.3 to LineageOS 13 (equivalent to 6.0.1) late last year because of the Krack and BlueBorne exploits. It's my only phone, and until I get another I have no wish to switch to something else. (My usage is pretty light, so I just put up with the occasional reboot.) In hindsight, I probably should have checked out the 4.4 possibilities, but LOS was the best known custom ROM, so that's what I chose.

I currently use a Droid turbo but have a Droid razr and want to have a galaxy nexus both on KitKat in case I need to use either. I have a Droid Maxx but I broke the volume buttons on it. I had them fixed but they can break again and I just don't want to take the risk. Also because I broke them I won't be selling the phone.
