I cant find it on samfirmware 2 guys have sime free note 2 on twitter I speak to and they both have it.. I tried flashing btu 4.1 and letting kies update but no joy.. ive had to flash a three uk branded rom to get 4.1.2.

How can someone have it if I cant find it in the wild.

Not out yet as far as I know, which is odd since voda and 3 i think have released theirs in the UK? I'm sure it wont be long, I was going to flash another one but I think ill just wait
Yeah I noticed Voda had it also.. but theres are sim free so its flashed some version of 4.1.2 on yheres..very confusing indeed

probably not the BTU version tho?
U guys know if it will be alright if I flash this version on my phone? I'm in the UK but mine is the german unlocked version (DBT)
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
I flashed the swedish, but unbranded, version on my N7105 and it worked perfectly, it was trivial to change the default language to English.
so I would look at other country firmwares for your N7100 as there is likely to one for another European country which is unbranded and works fine in the UK.
Ok thanks

I was surprised too that BTU has not been released as of yet. I always thought from past experience that unbranded phones get the updates faster than carriers.Come on Samsung UK Unbranded, we all paid top price for this device !!!!!!!!
jellybean updaye for the s3 was also the same. voda and h3g got the update first before the btu version. we might be seeing the same trend from now eh?

I'm guessing if we flash our BTU with another 4.1.2 firmware via odin we won't have an issue flashing at a later date with the BTU one?
Why don't you just flash DLL7, which contains many CSCs including BTU?
It's an official firmware, you just need odin and 3 minutes, it will upgrade nicely from your 4.1.1. You can flash the BTU 4.1.2 if/when it comes out...

I hope not, defeats the object of having a UK Unbranded phone. Easy to flash H3G and wait until BTU but we should not have to do this. Bloatware comes to mind.

Should not be a problem but it will only update via ODIN not Kies. I dont like flashing stuff like that, i am a bit picky. Want everything to be in place. Samsung should move on with this update as its their fault that there is a exploit in 4.1.1 which makes it unsecure.
Sorry to sound like a complete and utter n00b, or n0b (you decide), but am I correct in thinking that BTU is just an unbranded (non- carrier) version of the device? I.e. you bought the phone outright new, not from a network?
What does BTU actually stand for?
Cheers

I've read some where down the line that 4.1.2 has been scrapped from Samsung for Note 2 and they are focusing on 4.2 instead, something to do with problems the S3 has had on 4.1.2.... Though don't quote me on it

I have N7100XXALJ2 Baseband version in my phone and even if I connect to Kies then also it says its the latest OS whereas its only 4.1.1
Im sorry if I am asking a very stupid question here.
You have to wait - the update is only pushed out to few countries. You can follow the update periodically at samfirmware site - type 7100 into search and look for 4.1.2 update in your country.
N7105zhalj4
yeah, mine's an N7105ZHALJ4 and I too am waiting.
Mine came from Hong Kong via Kogan.com.au, and if I factory wipe it then it comes up in Chinese. I really want it to come up in English by default.
If I flashed a European ROM, would that fix it, or do I have to do some magic with the CSC?
thanks

If your phone is a brand one, it may take a long time for the carrier to make an update. I'm with Orange/Sosh in France, and my device is always with 4.1.1, no available update. But it's not that important, i use Exynos abuse to pach the infamous exynos memory exploit, phone works very well and is root, so i don't really need a new firmware.
Of course I'm talking about Samsung Stock not this shi,tty Cyanogen AOSP bugROMs...

What is it about 4.2.1 that makes you want it so much?
Photosphere? You can have it on your 4.1.1 and 4.1.2 roms.
Toggles? You have them already since the first Galaxy S.
The 4.2 launcher? You can get apex with a jelly bean that will be a lot better than the stock aosp version.
Bugfixes? There aren't many bugs in 4.1.2 as opposed to jumping from 4.0.4 to 4.1.1
Enjoy your phone..or edit build.prop to 4.2.2

If you change your device name and android version number in the build.prop you can install the 4.2.1 camera.
If you want updates so quick, you should've purchased a Nexus device...
Wait for the developers of Samsung to test their builds well so that they can release it to you.
You don't like 'buggy' CyanogenMod, AOKP right? Then WAIT for fully perfect ROMs... they need to test it to the core so that the end user has no problems.

I doubt we'll see 4.2.1 ever, it's buggier than any "crappy Cyanogen" out there and Samsung (and Google) knows it. IF Google issues a fix (and I'm not talking 4.2.2), add 6 months to that date and BINGO! This thread is answered

Just to be clear, the Odin-able ROM will contain Knox, thus flashing it will result in the installation of the e-fuse? Hence if folks attempt to revert, the Knox counter will then trip?

Won't contain the boot loader. So no Knox flag and should be revert able. Shouldn't trip anything since it's official firmware

Cool thanks. I know it wouldn't trip anything if installed, I was just concerned about reverting out of it. My understanding is that once Knox is on, the Knox counter is active. However, whay you're saying is thay the e fuse/Knox counter is boot loader dependent, therefore problem solved by removing the official Leak's boot loader... Correct?
Do you sub the boot loader with a previous version's boot loader? And if that's the case, would we expect the same kind of problems that were encountered with the 4.3 builds (sound, connectivity) until the hybrid modem solution was applied?

No just don't add a bootloader at all.
And evidently people are able to revert according to the i9505 thread.
I'm on mk2 everything including bootloader. Once I have flashed it I'll provide full info if it trips anything.
Dunno yet. I'd imagine you'd at least need the mk2 modem. The modems will be removed too. They'll fail in Odin and if flashed will cause no service.

Hahaha no. Odex and Deodexing has absolutely nothing to do with it. Nor the kitchen.
Do things need removed? Yes. Bootloader and modem's would be one. They fail in odin. You can even flash the recovery if you wanted.

Yeah mines have been tripped for a while so it doesn't bother me at all either lol..... Weird that the wifi isn't working tho ??? Are you getting any signal lost or is the 4.3 radio working good ??
I've recently got my replacement S4 back from t-mobile. I hadn't used an S4 since November so this issue is new to me. I did search around on these forums and Google for a while and couldn't find a solution.
I rooted and flashed 4.3 GPE rom and I can't get WiFi to activate. I tried several other roms including another 4.3 GPE, 4.3 STOCK and 4.3 custom rom and I just can't get WiFi to work. This is what I currently have on my phone right now. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Nexus ONE
You could just bite the bullet and do a full MK2 stock update without having to mess with flashing several things. If you don't care about warranty it's worth a shot. And if WiFi still doesn't work, request T-Mobile to send you another replacement with 4.2.
If I remember correctly some people have had WiFi issues when coming from ported 4.4 ROM's to 4.3/4.2. Since you're still on the MDL bootloader just do a full odin flash of MDL and start all over. Flashing the full MDL firmware again might even fix the problem.

Thanks for the advice.
so i did a stock 4.2.2 ODIN restore and the wifi worked, connected to my router, then it just stopped working again.
i then used ODIN to go to 4.3 and the same thing happened.
so what im doing right now is using ODIN to do a fresh 4.3, once it connects to wifi, try and do the 4.4 update asap. and pray that it works. i'll report back in an hour and see how it goes.

Definitely sounds like a hardware issue then. What did you send your phone into T-Mobile for originally? If you contacted them explaining that your replacement device is faulty they might give you a new one.

Well the 4.4 update didn't fix the problem. I had the phone replaced because it stopped reading the SD card. Looks like I have to call t-mobile and see what they can do

The KitKat update brings improved stability, and major features include white status bar icons, improved performance, reduced memory usage, improvements to Samsung’s onscreen keyboard in landscape mode, inbuilt wireless printing support, ability to select the default launcher and messaging app from the settings menu, a camera shortcut and full-screen album art on the lock screen, and new emojis. You might also find that most apps are lesser access to the external storage than before, which is by Google’s design and hence something you’ll have to live with.

Knox could be triggered it doesn't matter..... My device has knox triggered since a long time ago and upgraded to 4.4 just fine WIFI calling is working you just need to flash a costum kernel after to make WIFI work "I USED ADAM KERNEL" I'm sure any other tw 4.4 kernel will work just fine also..... for some reason this package doesn't update the baseband leaves it on the mk2
http://wanamlite.com/2014/03/06/adam-kernel-galaxys4-lte-v2-1-android-kitkat/ <~~~ ADAM KERNEL
I just got done with the OTA and I'm still have the MK2 baseband. How can I get the newer one?

Is weird that the OTA update is not upgrading us to the newer baseband...... I guess we have to wait till the complete firmware is out that will deff upgrade us to the new Baseband ???? is ur WIFI working after the OTA update ?? with stock kernel ?
THE ACTUAL FIRMWARE hasn't been released to download so we'll have to wait till is uploaded
I actually see that some people got updated to the newer BASEBAND with the OTA update and some DIDN'T that's just weird..... I guess the unlucky ones have to wait till the full firmware is released
@gdmlaz did you odin the update?

I actually updated it by going into the FACTORY RECOVERY and flashing it from an external sd card...... maybe that's why my baseband didn't get updated ????
@gdmlaz thanks. Did you need to restore your data?

The only reason I updated was for the newer baseband. I guess I'll just wait for it. I didn't really try out the stock at all. I just finished the update and after Rooting and custom recovery, I'm restoring my GPE rom. I can't take TW.

Well I was but odined the stock unrooted firmware and took ota because tmobile somehow knows if you're rooted I even moved supersu, the only modified system file I had to data/app and still couldn't take the ota. Kept getting a message my device was modified. So I was unrooted when I took the ota
