[Q] wpa_supplicant doesn't work well on my Galaxy - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hi
I installed wpa_supplicant v0.6.10 on my Galaxy S GT-I9000 with Android 2.3.6 Version XXJW4, for using my wifi as AdHoc shared by my PC.
I noted my phone lost the wifi connection after that, and I've the the same component on the other wide WIFI connection.
I know for solving that, I've to restore my wpa_supplicant back up losting my AdHOc connection. Before that I would like to know if there is a new release than I have of wpa_supplicant.
Thanks for your help

[Q]Problem with WiFi

So, ever since I upgraded to 2.2.1 (yes the official one, because I didn't check >-<), I've been experiencing problems with my WiFi.
I can't seem to connect to it. It says it's connected, but nothing.
A sorta fix was using WeFi, but even then there's like a 60% chance it won't connect.
Any help?
Try wifi fixer, it helped me while i have problems with wifi

Actualy, I already fixed it by using a static IP adress, but thanks for your effort
Wifi n
I beg your pardon but I have a problem with wifi which could be answered in http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301
but I can't post there, cause I have no permission. I'm a newbie that does't post too much. That's my first one.
I rooted my wildfire to overclock cpu, I didn't want to change stock rom, so flashed nfinity kernel mc4. Usually I link to 4 wifi servers. After nfinity installation I can't link one of the 4 servers anymore. Is a free access server (named netgear, this factory produces advanced wifi routers I saw). I think the problem could be a question of wifi mode disabled after kernel flashing. Could someone confirm me wildfire uses all b/g/n wifi modes and nfinity kernel disables the n mode? Very pleased if you can give me another explaination of the problem.
Thanks.
Edit: anyway I flashed HDCR v4.1 kernel and now wifi server is accessible again.

Can't connect to wifi networks using EAP (Enterprise Auth)

Hi !
I'm new to Android, and I just bought a Galaxy Y...
I'm a fairly happy user for now, but I encounter a problem trying to connect Enterprise type Wifi (all using EAP).
When trying to connect to either PEAP-MSCHAPv2 or WPA-EAP-TTLS-PAP (eduroam) at work, or WPA-EAP-TLS (certificates) at home, the phone does not connect.
It doesn't even try to authenticate :
- Radius doesn't receive EAP frames.
- I monitored wifi with wireshark on my laptop : Galaxy Y does not respond to EAP request of Access Point.
I tryed :
-Wifi ACE.
-Manual editting of wpa_supplicant.conf.
-Changing home network configuration (WPA1 and 2)
-Manually apply fix for Galaxy S2 (wifi does not connect at all after)
-Password for creditentials ...
It seems the same issue appeared on S2 after 2.3.5 to 2.3.6 update. Maybe should I use wpa_supplicant from a Galaxy Y 2.3.5 ROM (if someone can provide it to me) ?
For the moment, nothing seem to work. However, WPA-PSK works like a charm.
I did not flash any custom ROM. Automatic Update via phone or Kies reports that phone is up to date.
The phone reports Android 2.3.6, kernel 2.6.35.7
(PDA S5360XXKK6 , PHONE S5360XXKK5, CSC S5360OXXKK2).
Can someone help me to get EAP working ? Am I the only one with this issue ?
Is there a patch somewhere ?
Should I manually update ? I'd like to keep a french UI.
that happened to me..what i did is update my firmware using kies ;-)
Sent from my GT-S5360 using XDA App

That's the first thing I thought of. But Kies says I got latest firmware :
PDA:KK6 / PHONE:KK5 / CSC:KK2 (XEF)
Which one do you have ?
Solved :
As KIES did not want to update, I did it manually using Odin and firmware found here :

Thanks anyway.

[Q] IPSEC VPN (tun.ko)

I'm trying to connect my phone up to my works Cisco VPN.
I've read online that I need a compiled version of tun.ko kernel module in order for it to work. I've checked in /system/lib/modules/ and can't see it in there.
There are instructions online for compiling it which I wouldn't mind doing but I'm guessing this will have to wait until HTC release the kernel sources for the One X(?)
Can I use the module from another phone running the same kernel version?
EDIT: Sorry just done some more reading and found out tun.ko is baked into ICS so this can't be the problem I'm having
Did you manage to get this working? I am trying to connect to a L2TP/IPsec PSK VPN and I keep getting a timeout.
This has been working for the past 2 years on my gingerbread Desire HD.
I think it's to do with this issue:
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=23124
but if anyone knows of a fix that would be great?
i need this tooo ,, but without root please >>>

I'm not sure which ROM has it but did find something that might help you: http://shaer.me/blog/2012/08/how-to-enable-ad-hoc-connection-on-your-android/
I tried enabling adhoc through various methods as you mentioned above but was unsuccessful.

[Q] Connecting to ad-hoc network

Hello,
I'm trying to connect my Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 wifi to an ad-hoc network for internet. I understand this is disabled by default and a file needs to be replaced for it to work.
I searched around but could not find an up to date file for 4.2.2 version of android which runs the tab. If anyone has the file or another method please share it.
My device is already rooted on stock ROM.
Thanks
the same question.
