Hi all,
I'm not sure if this has been posted before but here is a quick fix for those of you with data issues after flashing a custom rom. Most experts say to check your APN settings which is true. In my particular case however, the stock apn settings didnt work.
STOCK APN
Name: ATT PTA
APN: pta
MMSC: ttp://mmsc.mobile.att.net <- Supposed to have an "h" as in a "http."
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN Type: default,mms,supl
The settings I actually used that fixed all my data issues are.
Name: ATT PHONE (Doesn't matter)
APN: phone <- <- <- (THIS IS THE IMPORTANT PART!!!)
MMSC: ttp://mmsc.mobile.att.net <- Supposed to have an "h" as in a "http."
MMS Proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 310
MNC: 410
APN Type: default,mms,supl
After making the a new APN with the APN as "phone" everything was all good.
Hope this helps!!! :victory::good:

I have searched here and google and tried about everything but I cannot find a solution. I have been having a problem with my at&t gs3 not picking up a signal, it will have bars sometimes with no data, then randomly drop all signal together. Sometimes I can get 4g after initially changing APNs, but it always drops out after a few seconds. I did get it to stay on edge for a little bit, but that also dropped out. This started right after I rooted the phone. I then installed Task's ROM, first the ICS then the JB version, to see if that would help, and it didn’t. I went through several APN settings to see if that was the problem, nothing gave a solution. So I tried returning to complete stock through Odin and that didn’t fix the problem either. I was getting full 4g before I rooted it, so know the problem was caused in the rooting process. I just want to know if there’s anything I can do to fix this, or should I just try and return the phone now that it is back to stock? Here are the APNs I tried, none of which fix my problem (the x in the hxxp are t):

Funny, I'm having the same exact problem also. I came across this thread looking for a stock image to return my phone back to stock to see if that helps.
I'm on Task's latest build. I even reflashed the modem to see if that helped but no luck.
Have you found a solution to this?

Same here i cant hold a strong signal i can usually before i rooted 2-3 bars now i usually have 1-0 bars
I made the mistake of not checking those before flashing a new rom and it seems my performance is not as good now as it was. But then again, I am not testing on the same place.
I just entered this from another post:
AT&T APN Settings

If the above APN settings do not work (they should for 90% of 4G devices, then please try the below separate APNs, for Internet and MMS)

or this one seems to work for me.

I got the native Hotspot working on gsm-unlocked RAZR M with Straighttalk/ATT sim!
(Not sure if this has already been posted, but I struggled with this for awhile, so I wanted to share).
It would always fail, and tell me to activate this feature call ATT.
All I had to do was edit the APN settings to include "dun"...and boom, it worked!
