I am proud to present you my collection of Lockrings for the Google LG Nexus 4
I will add more Lockrings soon
I'd be grateful if you want to press the Thanks button if you're going to use these Lockrings!
Read this before you apply these Lockrings!
- You need a rooted phone otherwise none of these methods will work! Stock rooted combined with ZipThemer works for most people, MetaMorph not always so preferably use ZipThemer!
- It's always recommended to do a Nandroid backup before flashing, just in case!
- Instead of a Nandroid, you can also pull framework-res.apk from /system/framework/ to your PC and in case of a bootloop or other issues use adb to push it back.
My Lockrings

Installation Methods
*** ZipThemer (Recommended, Failsafe) ***
Download one of the Lockrings (the file on Dropbox that starts with MMZT_)
Open ZipThemer. If this is the first time using ZipThemer then you have to select "Update Edify", "Browse", and select the .zip of the ROM you're currently using (this identifies the update script and needed files, if you're using a flashed theme on top of your ROM then please select the theme instead of the ROM) and press "Configure"
Go back to the main menu and press "+Theme", select the downloaded MMZT_ file and press "Build It!". Select "Always" on the popup prompt to make a backup in case it doesn't work or you want to undo
Boot into recovery, and flash the zip on the root of your /sdcard/ like any other flashable ROM/Theme
Wipe your Cache and Dalvik Cache just to be sure nothing weird happens on reboot
Reboot your phone after this and you're done!
If it somehow still fails just flash the "undo-zip" using steps 4-6
*** MetaMorph (Easier but riskier than ZipThemer) ***
Download and install MetaMorph from the Market
Launch MetaMorph at least once so that the folder AndroidThemes will be created on /sdcard/. (You can also create the folder manually if it doesn't)
Download a Lockring Style using the Dropbox MMZT_ link and move this .zip file to /sdcard/AndroidThemes using your favorite file explorer
Open MetaMorph, choose "Unzip/Extract new theme" and select the .zip file you downloaded. A popup screen will appear, meaning it has been extracted. Press the "Close" button. If it gives an error about a missing Control File, please fire up MetaMorph again, press "Existing Theme" and it's probably there dispite the error.
Hit the "Apply all!" button and wait +/- 5 seconds (nothing will happen)
Reboot your phone immediately after this and you're done!

It's icon download manager...i have to download the app then when in the app select the pack i want and it Comes down and asks if want to extract so say yes then it creates a folder fill of pgn files and when i want to switch icons i had to install nova launcher then long press which icon am changing then it pulls up a menu for me to choose what to open with (es file) then i browse sd card to the folder it made and scroll thru to the icon i want. Kinda sucks when have to do individually.
CORRECTION: Icon pack manager

Can someone tell me the names of his livewallpapers he used at the end of the video?
CRT off effect was introduced in the Android 2.3 branch and is one of the most loved feature of Android.
The effect is very smooth in 4.1.2 (Jellybean). The 4.2.x update screws the effect making it very fast to be enjoyable and takes a second or near about to respond.
Fortunately, after searching previous Nexus devices threads and testing various .prop additions, the one below works wonders.
Makes it smooth as the 4.1.x effect.
Before instructions, please make a backup of your current ROM and the build.prop file
Instructions :
Root required to do this.

Does editing the build.prop disqualify me from ota updates?
Orr.Penn.18 said:
CRT off effect was introduced in the Android 2.3 branch and is one of the most loved feature of Android.
The effect is very smooth in 4.1.2 (Jellybean). The 4.2.x update screws the effect making it very fast to be enjoyable and takes a second or near about to respond.
Fortunately, after searching previous Nexus devices threads and testing various .prop additions, the one below works wonders.
Makes it smooth as the 4.1.x effect.
Before instructions, please make a backup of your current ROM and the build.prop file

Yes, the update will fail due to the file not being original.

What I would actually like it's a way to turn off CRT. Guess I'm one of the oddballs. I can't find a setting in PA v3.10 to turn it off. Anyone got a tip on this.

If you change your transition speeds then o believe it goes away...not sure though

You need to change your Animation Transition to "Off". Its in the developer settings.

Lol no, this fix is about making it smooth and reproducing actual CRT off effect like in previous Android builds.
Unfortunately, setting animations to off worked in 4.1.x builds. It no longer works in 4.2.x builds.
Still, i'll look into policy.jar file to completely shut it off.

So just to confirm, since the FAQ isnt totally clear, this will work on stock ROMs if you use the edify method correct?
However, it links to a GNex page, so I was wondering if it is compatible with all devices.

It is compatible with all aosp roms for lockrings and etc... Lol (my bad)
When u edify on stock u with zip themer u must use a gapps zip or something of that nature ... Since there is no Rom zip.

When it comes to aosp stock or custom the folders are the same. And yes the edify process is universal. Make sure to use your devices zip and not the gnexs
