I debloated my note 2 and I didnt remove anything called wifi calling and the wifi calling settings is still there but when I turn it on nothing happens. I know you use to need kineto wifi calling apk and you would turn it on with that. Im assuming while deploating I removed something related to it. What apks do I need for it to work?
Well I'm not sure it's everything but my guess is you need:
ip-provider.apk
IPService.apk
WifiCall.apk
Hope that helps!

Ya same question here :good:
Wi Fi Calling
I think if you're using a T-Mobile based rom it should come installed. Maybe you're not using the right rom.
Debloating shouldn't have anything to do with anything
I reinstalled the rom and have it working. Going to be using the freeze option a little more now rather than uninstalling everything since it must have been something I uninstalled that broke it. Thanks for the help guys.

Theres foxfi but i think only bluetooth tether works on it. As for the wifi tether app. Make sure the Disable wake lock button is UNCHECKED. I recomend checking the keepalive box as well. also even tho there is a GS3 setting now Galaxy nexus tends to work better for me. Also if ur running a tw based rom delete ConnectionManager.apk from system/app. Gets in the way.
And as far as stuff in the playstore being "not compatible". Thats most likely cuz Sprint wants it that way. Never hurts to download elsewhere and give it a shot-- https://dl.dropbox.com/s/t9pqttpf4p4bp76/blackmart[1].apk?dl=1

Thanks I'll try those setting. Do you also what the MSS clamping and Routing Fix does. I don't understand most of the options in WiFi tether. And is connection manager the sprint option that automatically connects. I do have that disabled in the setting but I can also remove it as well. Thanks.

Personally I never had to use mss clamping or routing fix however I have ticked them and they didn't seem to make any difference. I would however keep the WiFi driver reload ticked. Seemed to make the successful connection rate better. Its like the equivalent of turning your WiFi off and back on for a fresh start everytime. And yes that's what connectionmanager.apk is. Even with the option disabled it still tends to come on n f*ck up tethering
This is the first time I have posted here so I do not know if I put this in the right area, sorry if I did not.
I have the ATT sgh-i467 note 8.0 and I have been trying to use wifi tethering. After doing some investigation, it turns out that ATT blocks tethering unless you pay them a tethering fee or buy the 5 GB plan, What BS that is. I have tried to find a work around and there does not seem to be one.
Has anyone found a wifi tether work around for the ATT note 8?

I have tried it and all the other adhoc wifi tethers, they will not work on the new phones and tablets and the carriers have tethering locked out in the device. I was hoping had found another way to do this without a hack.

I tried this but it did not work, one of the things I could not do was:
Step 10. Scroll down and make sure “MSS clamping” and “Routing fix” are both checked on.
I did not have mss clamping
Did you try this on a ATT note 8.0?

I just froze it using titanium back up and restarted it. I went to settings then to more settings and I did not see the native tethering show up. Did I miss something?

SUCCESS!!
The freezing of the att access app worked but it did not bring up the native tether option. I tried foxfi, I could get the computer to connect but it would not go to the internet, so then I tried tetherfy and that worked. I am sending this right now tethered to my note 8.0.
Screw ATT, it makes me so mad that these USA carriers try to screw everyone, I love it.
Thanks,

any way to auto kill allaccess?
Thanks to all on here, I was able to get my tether working. I was bummed though to find it disabled the AT&T data widget, as I used that to keep an eye on data used.
Well, I messed around and here is what I discovered...
I un-froze allaccess in Titanium and rebooted. After rebooting I was able to restore the allaccess widget (though tethering was again crippled). I then converted allaccess from a system app to a user app using Titanium, then forced closed it. I was then able to tether again, and the data widget still remained active. This works great until I reboot the unit, then I just need to force close the allaccess again to tether.
I am wondering if there is a way to automatically force close the program upon startup? This would allow use of the widget to monitor data without having to manually fc the allshare program.
Anyone know how to accomplish this?
Ok, I know I have seen a few threads about this but nothing conclusive or, dare I say, noob friendly as to how to resolve it. So I am asking here. My roommate has moved out leaving me with a few weeks of having to rely on my phone for internet. I am currently running Infamous v.8 and by using Hotspot Shield Free and Wifi Tether TrevE I can hotspot tether for a limited about of data before I have to wait about 6 hours or so. I am looking to find a way to just hotspot tether natively without using apps and without getting the T-mobile screen. I have used many roms including the Carbon KitKat rom using dalvik but still get the T-mobile screen, if the computer connects at all.
I have heard about some libs you can push to get tethering to work, but having never done that, I would need some detailed instructions.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Do this it works on the att s4 using the built in native hotspot feature
First go to settings applications /manager /all
Your tmobile s4 may not have the native hotspot feature but if does this step is critical for it to work...
Find the hotspot app disable it .
Next go to any root browser tool and go to prefer rom toolbox lite.
Go to System/app find tetheringprovsion.apk rename it to tetheringprovision.bak
Rename the tetherprovision.odex
To tetherprovision.bak2
Download the modified tether provision apk from the att s4 general forum. and copy it into sytem/app folder same folder you renamed the others.
reboot phone and then after reboot.
Go back to settings apllication manager/all
and re enable hotspot
Then you can tether .

I know some ROM's that have tethering and portable hotspot built in. On my old Samsung Relay had a Clockwork mod, and when I went to settings, more - there was an area for tethering and portable hotspot and it ran just like it was a normal function included with the phone. Loved it.
So check the different rom's out there some should have the same thing.
So, running Wicked V4 since it came out. Zero issues has been fine. Now, after having flashed CM, Wifi calling keeps breaking. I reflashed V4 last night, wifi calling working fine. Set everything up, still working fine. Wake up this morning, working fine. Get home from work, does not work at all.
It says I am not connected to a wifi network, but I am connected too my home network. Any ideas?

Tried that. Same issue. Says I am not connected to wifi. Just makes no sense.
Does CM screw stuff up on this phone requiring a full restore to fix or is there a way to do a complete restore with the dialer? I know when I had the GS3 for verizon CM would absolutely screw stuff up if you flashed it. You could fix it by typing a reset code into the dialer. Didn't see one though for the Note 3.

yes, last night wiped system/data/cache/dalvik cache. Flashed rom, set up. Restored apps via mybackup pro, setup wanam module. Woke up this morning to wifi calling still working fine no issues.
Got home from work and wifi calling doesn't work. I reinstalled everything that way, because the backup I restored magically had wifi calling broken after wiping everything from a flash of CM.

Does t-mobile control settings from there side that CM messes with? I am new to tmobile. Spent years with verizon. Wifi calling is something we never had.

I didn't restore that. I know better than to do that. This is really frustrating. Just going to factory reset, see what happens, if no dice, I'll full restore tomorrow back to stock and reroot and see what happens.

There is a bug in Wanam that overwrites system/csc/feature.xml - causing WIFI calling to break.
Download the update to Wanam (2.6.1?)
Then go to file manager system/csc/feature.xml and you should see a feature.xml.bak - replace feature.xml with feature.xml.bak, then apply your Wanam mods.

I had the "wifi" problem this morning. The error that I would get was something like my wifi signal was unstable and was switching over to data mode. My fix was simple. I power cycled my router and modem and BAM my note 3 connected immidiatelty to my network. I hope this helps anyone that is having this issue.

on my m8 running viper....I just changed a value in the default.xml file (there was a few versions that forgot to enable the native hotspot for free)....that did the trick....I don't see why it would be terribly different on the m9 if you are S-Off, unlocked and rooted.
You stock or running Viper?

I'm pretty sure the issue here was over debloating... .. the stock tether guard doesn't like being frozen or removed before it's disabled in the xml policy. To be honest.. even after disabling tether guard support I always leave the app remain.
We will know more when the OP gets back home from his trip.
Stock rooted here and it works fine.
Not having root, I still haven't found a way to use the built in hotspot--however--if you disable tethering guard, you will be able to use the built in Bluetooth tether. The major downsides being only being able to connect to one device at a time and download speed is right around 1 mbps.

Yeah, I was googling for a while...
So I tried Foxfi and it didn't work, said it was unable to use wifi tether on new updated system (something like that). But then I looked at other apps to try in the Play Store and saw "Free Tether Unlocker". It only had a 3.5 star rating but I figured why not try it. IT WORKED!!! Was still able to send a text and make a call too.
So anyone on a Verizon device who needs to get wifi tether working, just use Free Tether Unlocker and then Wifi Tether Router and that should do it!
