Seeder App worth it? - Sprint LG Optimus G

Everything is supposed to load much faster. It's getting rave reviews in the playstore. Is it really that noticeable or placebo effect?
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lcis.seeder
Here's the article i found it from: http://phandroid.com/2013/01/03/see...lag-from-rooted-android-devices-does-it-work/

I have it loaded. It really does make difference.

Sometimes when I exit an app and go back to home (stock) it takes a moment to load up. Does that help with that? And the app drawer lol

I haven't noticed much of a difference, but I attribute that to the performance and capabilities of this phone. It probably works great with lower end or old phones.

At first I noticed no difference but I ran a few test like turning animations off and running apps with and without seeder then did the same with animations on and I do notice a slight speed up when opening apps. Not a huge difference because like someone said this phone is already a speed demon, but there is a slight increase, but then again could be placebo lol.

I posted this on another topic as well that was discussing the seeder app. This is straight from a CM Dev on G+.
" The entropy pool stuff is bull****. The only users of /dev/random are libcrypto (used for cryptographic operations like SSL connections, ssh key generation, and so on), wpa_supplicant/hostapd (to generate WEP/WPA keys while in AP mode), and the libraries that generate random partition IDs when you do an ext2/3/4 format. None of those 3 users are in the path of app execution, so feeding random from urandom does nothing except make random... well... less random"
A lot of tech talk but he goes on "The only reason devices feel faster is because by constantly polling the PRNG, it keeps the device's I/O in constant use (which in turn, depending on device, will make the CPU stick to higher clock frequencies to keep up)"[/QUOTE]

How is this useful? To anyone wondering if it will work or is curious: install the free apk on xda. Try it out. If it helps: great keep using it. If you want, buy the play store version to support the dev. If it doesn't work, good you didn't waste your money now you can go spend your buck and some change on a pack of gum or a soda.

What are you gonna do with your next phone? Transfer over all your contacts? LOL.
And then rinse and repeat.
Seriously, what more do you need/want? T989 is super fast, super good GPU, strong battery, dual core GPS, one of the few devices with SAMOLED+, better than the nexus in nearly every way except screen res (and the GNex takes a performance hit because of that).
Ok good luck whatever you decide

In my experience this generally hapoens either after a new rom flash or just at random (seemingly). But it has always eventually calmed down and stays cool after that.
I suspect it is searching for mor something....like updating libraries of songs and whatnot. Seems like it occasionally gets stuck and when you add additional load it easilyy heats up. Try using Show CPU Use in dev options and keep an eye on the top few processes while it heats up. May give you an idea as to the real cause.

I don't worry much about battery because you can always get another one but I'm just saying most of the high end phones are really bad with drainage. Maybe in the future we can go for a whole a day without having to charge at least once. Those days with flip phones it could go for a whole week without charging lol.

Tried it. It's pretty much worthless. Turns off wifi when away from your access points, which is cool. Otherwise, all it does is prevent your major apps from updating to a varying degree. It's better to just control this yourself in app settings and "Accounts and Sync" settings. I think the app was designed with people who don't have a clue about Android sync settings in mind. For the type of person who spends time reading Android forums, it's a waste of time. Sorry
If you do choose to use it, be aware that depending on the setting you or it chooses for Gmail, push notifications may not work.

Incorrect. This app has nothing to do with CPU. It automates turning on/off wifi, and blocks or reduces syncing for various major apps.

Snapdragon 800

I'm a huge gaming nut, I game on my pc, xbox360, ps3 and on my android phones. I've noticed that it doesn't take much time for the note 3 and it's gpu/cpu to heat up to the point where it's almost to hot to hold. This wasn't a problem on the note2 and it's exnyos cpu, I'm loving the slimness of the phone but thinking that's also why it gets hot soo fast.
I generally don't play too long, mostly 15-20 minute sessions of dead trigger 2, Asphalt 8 or Riptide 2. Anyone else notice this? I'm thinking maybe when the ZL battery comes thru and the extra bulkiness it will take a bit longer to heat up. That or maybe it's time for companies like Seidio,Otterbox etc to make some liquid cooled phone cases lol

Sent from my SM-N900T

Sent from my SM-N900T using xda app-developers app
I'm not playing with the phone charging, matter of fact I just played about 4 missions on dead trigger 2 and it's already starting to get too hot. It's gotta be the snapdragon chip, none of my other phones have ever gotten this hot in soo little time.
Again I haven't overclocked or play while charging ever. This phone needs a water cooling case for reals lol

Remove mpdecision from /system/bin (but just rename it.. Add "00" to the beginning or something) and run with all 4 cores online. You will find you get better battery life and your device will not ramp as much.
This is what I do personally...
Ondemand
Deadline
io_is_busy - 1
up_threshold - 95
sampling_rate - 20000
Stock has up_threshold at 85 or 90 if I'm not mistaken, way too aggressive for a processor of this caliber.
And mpdecision is way too aggressive. I don't need all 4 CPUs spinning up to max when I open my messages app.
Also, edit your /system/etc/init.qcom.post_boot.sh file to have this line it (see picture)

Wow!
Did everything you said in your earlier post and I'm noticing it running way cooler now. Normally after 3-4 missions on dead trigger 2 it's getting pretty hot near the camera when holding it in landscape mode, now it just seems to idle normally.
So before I tweaked my system root and set cpu settings was it only utilizing 1 or 2 cores thus stressing more and making the snapdragon soc run hotter? These games are very graphic intensive and could use extra cores running to keep everything running more smoothly and cooler (which you have now achieved developmrntbro!!)
I advise anyone experiencing what I was dealing with to do the same and be amazed how much better it runs now, thanks again for the knowledge :good:

My Note 3 doesn't get hot like yours, unless I play a game such as Madden 25 over a 40 minute period, then it's moderately hot, nothing compared to my previous phones, and that list includes the Note 2. I love everything about this Note 3 except the camera, it has a hard time focusing on some things close up, and sometimes at a distance too, I resent the camera, I did see in another thread that I am not the only one with this problem, only problem is I did not wait for the root de la vega or else I would've ordered a replacement already.........
