Hey everybody,
I'm new here and after some searching around on the web and on the forums here I still couldn't find an answer to my question so I decided to post it here. So here it goes:
After flashing the custom ROM of aokp from this thread, everything is working fine and I absolutely love the ROM. The only "problem" I have with this ROM is that the bass from any sound of my phone is completely gone (even tried with quality headphones - speaker or headphones doesn't make a difference - tried installing an equalizer but that didn't make a difference). I haven't installed a beats driver yet because last time I tried it broke my device (searched for beats driver on play store and installed 'beats audio installer root')...
If anybody has any idea of what I could try to get the bass back, it would be much appreciated.
Thx in advance.
Sincerely,
Sindrave

Is Beats Audio any good for Hero?
THX Habarugggggggg u r really a nice guy
EDIT: this din work for hero... can u make another signed zip form DOWNLOAD03/02/12 .zip from the forum? thx in advanced.
I think this Beats Audio is intended for Android OS 2.3+. Are you running at least GB?
tryed on wildhero v5 with Amon_RA can't install
As for me, i tryed any beats zip file, signing it and this was not possible to install it via amon ra because of a status 0 error.
I searched about it, and I read it meant that the hardware is not compatible with the zip I'm trying to install.
As an example, it's as if I was trying to install the ruu of the HTC One V(good looking, like the hero on the htc Hero
So, I've no idea of how to go trough that problem
(it's not my level anymore)

Sometimes, there are headphones that are beats like in term of specs
Thus, if the beats audio equalizer could be associated with a good headphone, the result can be good.
(personally I have a really good, really cheap headphone with a very good response in low frequencies, and I just can't wait to try it out with the beats equalizer)
The Beats!
By looking on the Wildfire S forum, I found that post :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1525759&highlight=beats
By downloading it, I tryed it at first with no change.
It gone wrong because it was not signed...
Then I signed it...
See attachment.
unfortunately for me, I did it too fast to see any difference...:'(
But, if you don't trust this file or whatever, I compared the system files from the original post and it seems to be the same... So that's it
Working fine!! Thanks lolo7291
Thx lolo !! i will try it now can giv u ppl some feedback!! =)
EDIT: The sound is somehow louder and deeper bass but i did not see much improvement.. LOL.. THX AGAIN FOR US TO TRY OUT
can someone explain what happens with this addon? I flashed it, and i don't see any difference in the interface nor the audio quality...
IMO Beats Audio is nothing special, in the end it's kinda like a equalizer preset made by monster
BEATS is just another audio booster or equaliser.. ntg massive.. this is a hack where it wont have any beats logo appearing even it is running in the background. u need decent earphone to actually listen the difference made. Not huge difference
I don't know why but I've got the feeling that it works for the first boot only after flashing it from amon-ra....
I've got to check it out....hope it's working well finally, if not, I don't know what to do to fix it...(for now)
Anyone else having this feeling?
Not much difference really.... cant really hear it with our bear ear.. haha
i'm trying to port another beats audio from wilfire S for sense roms

Nice, I like the sounds of that!!
Hello all,
I followed the guide posted by jvilla785 to install the acid audio engine 5.0 last night and it seemed to work fine as I could definitely hear the difference through my headphones. However I noticed today when listening to audio without headphones that it had cut the loudness of my speakers in half and thus the cons out weigh the benefits. I am on rooted stock. I would like to remove the acid audio engine tweak but cannot find anywhere how to do so. I did not do a backup prior to flashing the tweak (I know, dumb mistake). I would have posted this question in the other topic but it will not allow me to since I am a noob. My last phone was a lg g2x so i am behind in the current rooting tricks and techniques. Can someone please help me? Thanks in advance.
I have now re flashed the stock tar using odin since nobody gave me any other suggestions. However the speaker volume is still greatly less then it was when I first recieved the phone. My wife has a htc phone with beats on it and when I first got the gs4 I compared the sound of it to hers and. it was louder. Will someone please tell me what could be causing this as it is driving me nuts?
Thanks

I would love to remove it too. It gives me a lot of problems when I have the headphones plugged in and I switch from Google music to Pocketcast

Can any one help with this? I'm by no means a noob with rooting and adb and what not but, I somehow managed to get my M8 soft bricked yesterday and the only rom I could manage to sideload was the AOKP rom because it was under 1 gb. I'd like to hang on to this rom but the audio isn't working out of the headphone jack or out of the speakers when listening to music specifically with Google Music. Youtube and everything else seems to work..
Thanks for any help :good:
you'll probably get better answers if you post in the AOKP thread..sounds like a kernal issue though

I sorted it out. It was Google Music maxed out with devices (max is 10) Of course I didn't get a warning or any of that.. I just happened to guess that might be it. Google needs to make that more clear.
I was going to ask the question in the ROM thread but even though I've been a member of XDA for 3+ years I have less than 10 posts and can only use the Q&A section
First off I'd like to say thanks for this great forum. I've used it many times over the years but just recently registered. I've never really had anything substantial to add (still don't). In the past I've had a Photon and HTC One M7, both from Sprint. I never really had the urge to mess with them at all. I recently bought a Note 4 and I decided to root it. I'm more of a computer person, building and customizing but never got into messing with phones.
With that said I'm in need of some help so I decided to register. Not sure if I have much to add at this point to become a contributing member so if anybody is hesitant to help I completely understand. I've been a noob on many other forums, and have also seen noobs come and go. So if anybody can help, that's great and I thank you ahead of time. If not, that's OK too.
I was completely torn between the new LG, an HTC One M9 and the Note 4........ I even considered the Nexus. The audio quality of the M7 that I had was and still is better than any other non-HTC phone on the market and it was really tough to convince myself to get something different. I wanted a big screen with great hardware. The Note 4 had all that except for the audio. The audio, speakers and headphone quality absolutely suck. I am terribly disappointed. I was going to see if HTC was going to release a version with a bigger display, I saw that it is a toned down version. If HTC made a 5.5-5.7" maxed out version like the smaller M9 I would have gotten it.
Now, I've rooted this phone and I've gone through all the steps of installing V4A and no matter what I do it does not function at all. The problem I see is that my phone upgraded to Lollipop. In order to properly install V4A the SELinux mode needs to be set to permissive. There was an app (I forget the name of it offhand) that could change the mode, unfortunately it is not compatible with Lollipop. Without changing the mode to permissive I cannot properly install V4A.
I've searched through this forum a couple times over and can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Is there another way to change this mode? What about recommendations for one of the custom ROM's that has V4A in it? I'm really open to any suggestions. I'm really fed up with this phone telling me what volume level is enough. I use this phone for music all the time and the stock equalizer automatically cuts the volume down to the highest equalizer setting. I can hear the difference, when using Spotify if I skip to the next song the stock equalizer (SoundAlive) takes a split second to kick in and you can hear how it should sound without SoundAlive. For all this Note 4 has, I'm really starting to regret getting this over the M9. It would be a great phone if I can get some volume back as well as some decent sound quality.

You need custom kernel to set mode from enforced to permissive... or google there is away to enable V4A to work with stock kernel that involve romtool.
This phone imo is top notch in all areas but I agree with you on the audio quality, stock music player that is. I use PowerAmp and all of that changes, even through the phones tiny speaker. My suggestion is to revert to stock and simply install the app if you're just looking to improve audio quality. Just my 2 cents.

I've heard many good things about PowerAmp but as far as I know that's only applicable to downloaded songs. It doesn't work with Spotify.

Yeah that's true. Sorry
I'd suggest using the Emotion r14 kernel. That will get you permissive and a much snappier phone as well as having tweaks specific to sound. It supports Faux 123 sound on top of everything else. You should find a link to the kernel in the original android development area.

Sorry the Emotion kernel can be found here.

Thank you for the recommendation. I'll check it out. If I can get the permissive setting I shouldn't have any issues getting V4A installed. Everything else that comes with that kernel is an added bonus.
OK, that kernel worked great! I was able to install V4A almost flawlessly. No disrespect to any of the equalizer apps out there but V4A is by far the best audio control I've used. I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this installed. That kernel did make the phone a little "snappier" as you put it. I haven't had a chance to mess with Synapse, I might just leave well enough alone as it's now working he way I want. Thanks again.
im just curious do you still have data after flashing that kernal?
Do I still have data? Not sure what you mean.
Hello to all.
Can someone help me with the tunein radio not working with viper audio?
I changed my phone to permissive, and added the 2 zips somebody uploaded that changed the build prop. But i still cannot get viper and tunein to work together. Maven Pro audio works great as does iheart with viper.
Thank you in advance.
Blessings
I'm not a subscriber of Tunein, I wish I could help ya. Does V4A work with other audio services?

According to this it's an issue with Tunein. It is a little old so not sure if there is a different issue since then, so take it for what it's worth.

Hello guys!
This is actually my first time flashing and using V4A and it took me hours to install it successfully. I don't actually know what I'm gonna do and I hope I'll find something useful in the web and figure each options. I just want to use V4A because I have cheap wireless mi earbuds and I want to enhance the audio experience.
Please share your configuration for the speakers thank you!
It is impossible to share the configuration except with someone who has the same headphones. Each headset is different in its own way. I have four different headphones and four different configurations. It's best to experiment and find the best sound for you.
