LOL. The radiation from a cell phone is the phone talking to the cell towers. These accessories are just another way of separating a fool from their money. If you have an overwhelming desire to give away money, send it to your favorite developer instead.

Just buy the normal Gnex and unlock the bootloader it with ADB (many guides on this) and than flash CWM and a custom ROM.. If you are in the state and want carrier unlock than buy it online or purchase an SIM unlock code for it.
There is no need to hunt down an engineering phone. The nexus was made to be a "dev" phone so you can easily root/mod it.
The only reason to get an Engineering device would be that it potentially could have access to early versions of software updates. My opinion would be though, if you have to ask what is different about it, you should probably just buy a normal version of the device as it would be less likely that you'll ruin the phone.

As I had indicated in the linked thread quoted by Pechkin000, if the engineering bootloader on the Galaxy Nexus is similar to the engineering bootloader on the Nexus One, you have access to many more fastboot commands (although most of them would not be useful to the non-technical user). I would love to have access to an engineering bootloader.

Is Galaxy Note GT-N7000 same form factor as Galaxy Note i717?

Specifically with regards to fitting into cases - will one fit perfectly into a case made for the other and vice versa. I think I may have found the answer when I searched the forum but I want to hear it from someone who knows definitively. The threads I found were regarding battery and back covers.
Thanks! I found a decent deal on Seido Active but it's for i717.

Yes they share the same form factor, I ordered a cover which was designed for i717 and fits perfectly fine N7000.:good:
they are not exactly the same form factor... bear in mind the AT&T version has some bloatwares you need to contend with.. RAM size and chipset wise.. it's not the same as well... yeah.. i guess externally they're all the same.. internally... hmm... I got the international one over the at&t one, don't ask me.. but I could've never been happier getting the international one. Performance wise... It's wayyy too better.

My bad dude.. and don't get too ballistic on me (for my post). I was merely also pointing out the disadvantages on one versus the other. Form factors are the same.. but realistically, the phone and it's accessories are not. Minute things that is.
Yeah I made a mistake and I do apologize for that. But again let me stress out.. Not all accessories do fit in with the i717 and with the N7000 international one. There are still accessories that are specifically designed for the N7000 which you can't find one in the i717 version, e.g. accessories that maximizes the NFC on the i717 which you can't find on the international version.
Battery door clips are located a little differently which makes the battery doors non interchangable. Cases in general are fine to interchange.

The phone comes with a manual. You should probably read it.
There's also a pdf manual at Samsung's website.

That manual is kinda skimpy. It basically just says 'hey here is how you put the battery in!".

Thanks for the help guys!
Checking through all the links.
One question I'm not sure will be covered: do I need a screen protector? The iphone had gotten to the point where I really didn't need a screen protector. It was scratch resistant enough to not need one. How is the Note 4 with scratches?

Depends on if you're going to resell it or not.
I always do it because I resell on ebay and I want to tell the buyer that the screen is flawless. If you don't get one there will eventually be hairline scratches..
