Try using TWRP 2.3.3.0 as your recovery system instead, it's more up to date and is reliable. Just flash it through Odin, afterwards, you should be able to install and boot the ROMs perfectly.

If you don't mind switching to TWRP as the guy above said, then I would switch. If you like CWM, then make sure you aren't using the super wipe scripts on CWM versions other than 5.0.X

Did you manage to solve it? i'm having the same issue with every rom i flash
Related
I am running AOKP JB and using CWM. Flashing updated roms of AOKP is fine but when i try to flash a different rom, (I've tried CM9 and 10, KyanRom, and paranoid android) i keep getting the same error.
i factory reset and wipe cache and dalvik but still no go.
any ideas of what i might be doing wrong or how to fix this?
Use Odin flash stock rom then boot into recovery wipe data and reboot done

That's an older version. You need the newest one, which is 5.8.4.7. Download the img file from the website and flash through android emulator.
Downloads: http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
How to install through Android Emulator on the device: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
scroll down to the "Third, alternate if unfamiliar with adb commands" option and follow directions.
Beware that once you install this version of CWM, your previous nandroid backups will not work, as they will get md5 mismatch. If you want to go back to the older version of CWM, simply use the method you used when you first flashed CWM (via Odin). I experienced the same thing, so I had to do some research before I flashed CM10. Hope that helped!

That works too. But for some reason, my device wasn't listed in the app so I had to go through the other process ):
I'm helping my friend install cyanogenmod on his sgh-i747m (telus), and we are having great difficulty. The phone is rooted, and TWRP 4.2.2 (or whatever's newest) is installed from the goomanager app. On everything he tries he gets a status 7 error. Phone is always wiped prior to flash, both internal and external memory have been tried, and the rom has been redownloaded several times. Even tried cm10 stable and PA 3.0.
Any suggestions? Could using cwm instead of twrp help? If so how do I replace twrp with cwm?
Going to sleep hoping there will be some suggestions in the morning. Thanks in advance.
Yeah try cwm. But that error usually means your on an outdated recovery. So make sure its the latest twrp

Yeah, that's sounds like an outdated recovery issue. download rom manager and install cwm if you want to give that a shot.

Yo can also get a status 7 if your phone is marked as a d2can. Some ROMs have a device check prior to flashing to prevent a brick. You have to install a recovery as a d2att and they'll flash.

Flash a d2att recovery. TWRP latest is 2.4.2.0... So what you said seems right. If he got from too it will always flash the latest. Try to to find d2 art recovery. Its linked in the android development section under latest recoveries

Yup, it's not there.
Problem with recovery being able to mount the partitions.
It won't mount anything, data, system, cache, internal or external sdcards
I've read post from a handful of people who, like myself, have gotten their phone very recently. All experiencing the same problem.
I've gotten root by flashing a stock rom thru ODIN with it already installed but I'm dying for my Vanilla Android, touchwiz is making me sick :crying:

There are some pre-rooted stock roms you can flash in Odin but that doesn't fix recovery. So if you can live with Touchwiz I'd check those out.

I believe you meant www.rwilco12.com.
I am also having a problem with all CWM versions I've tried on my two 3-day old Sprint Samsung Galaxy S3 phones. It doesn't matter which recovery (or version) I flash, nothing mounts so you cannot see the internal or external SD, cannot flash anything, cannot wipe anything, etc. This seems to be a problem with very new S3's with all custom recoveries.

I'm currently on cwm non touch recovery an want to upgrade. I'm not sure which one I should upgrade but I see a lot of devs suggest twrp touch recovery so I guess that one. Do I just download the recovery an flash it on cwm? An when I do have it installed how do I flash ROMs do I just select the ROM an the recovery will clear caches? Or do I have to flash another zip before like with cwm I flashed the super wipes?

To flash TWRP you to get Goo Manager from the play store.
Open it up and click on "flash rom"... it will ask you if you want it to find you one. Select that option.
It will then say it will DL TWRP. Once it is done with the DL it will flash TWRP to your phone.
And bam....your in the latest TWRP

Thanks!!!!! I did it already. When I'm going to flash a new ROM what do I have to do? On cwm der was the superwipe zip I had to flash before is it the same on twrp?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Dont use super wipe. Not good with TWRP.
Do a full backup first of your current rom. Do a complete wipe. When you hit the wipe option it will tell you all that it will wipe.
Next hit install from the main menu...choose you zip for your rom. Let it do its thing then reboot system.
All done
