You can flash the rom but the 'phone' features wont work.
Yes you can go back to stock rom via nandroid back up or FTF files w/ Flashtool.
Why would you want to? But yeah it will work but not as a phone.

So I am about to root my phone but first I have to flash the r800at to the older .270 update. Do I have to worry about breaking anything? Also once it is rooted what are some things I can do or add to my phone?
Bump. Can someone let me know if there is anything I need to do or be aware of?
If your bootloader is unlocked, you can flash a new kernel. Only with root you can install some custom roms
There is allways a chance to damage your phone when you flash something, but if you follow carefully the flash steps you have a high chance to root your phone without any problem

Yes I do have a locked bootloader. So instead should I flash a custon kernal then root? I was looking into doomkernel and that looks nice. Does it have some instructions for installing it safely? Also is that the best one for the AT&T version of this phone?
You MUST have a unlocked bootloader to flash a new kernel or you'll brick your phone

Oh my bad. So is really the only thing I can do is flash the .270 version and just rooting?
Yes. If you want to change the rom with a locked bootloader you need root acces

Do you recommend any good roms?

I only can talk abour my current rom, Gin2JellyBean.
Smooth, fast, perfect. I'm very happy with it but there are another roms that are pretty good

I have an att s3 and was wondering if I can flash the tmo s3 stock ROM on it and everything work ok.. I need the wifi calling feature fire where I moved.. Thought flagging might be easier than dealing with craigslist trying to find a trade

Yes and vice versa... just don't flash any tmo modems

You don't. Use CWM or TWRP to flash the rom.
Ok thank you

how to install rom when rooted the phone already
which kernel do you use if your on tmo? tmo or att?

Kernels are interchangeable.
To install rom on rooted phone, you first need a recovery. Easiest way is to download goo.im app to get twrp. Once thats done, download rom and install it in recovery

I just unlocked my boot loader and was wondering how do you install a custom kernel. I have searched for a thread about it but I wanted clear instructions. Also can you tell me what you think is the best kernel and rom combo? (For r800x CDMA)

The only cdma kernel is Doomkernel.

Before flashing a kernel i want to make sure i get everything right so i dont mess up my phone. Do i flash the kernel first or the rom and what is the baseband someone told me you need to flash this as well and if so where do you get it?
Sent from my R800x using xda app-developers app
Kernal before rom always baseband is your network. Most of the time the roms o.p will have a link to download the baseband which you will flash after you install the rom
So its flash kernal using fastboot install rom using clockwirk mod recovery then turn phone iff enter flashmode and flash baseband should be good to go
P.S FLASHTOOL is your best friend

Order doesn't matter, just phone won't boot if kernel and rom are not same android version, fixable by doing the other steps

I suggest you go back to stock firmware and then try the code. Just make a nandroid and backup your pictures and stuff.
Some say it being rooted will make a code note work. Never tried myself

Thanks however Is this a fact because I would like to avoid flashing back to stock if possible. I guess it would be the safest thing to do but definitely would prefer not to.

The code will not work unless you are on a stock TW rom

Just make a backup of your current setup and go to a stock build. It's really easy. I always leave a backup of the stock rom on my phone in case I ever have some weird issue

I want to go back to stock but not sure what the original stock rom was I know it's definitely UK but not sure if it's factory unlocked or on a specific network! I've downloaded the UK international stock rom think it's btu or something like that! What's the dangers please will it brick my phone! Have tried to ring him but his phones off and has been all week any help be much appreciated

I'd say follow dr.ketans guide that would be your safest bet.
But honestly I'd leave the phone rooted, at least, for the time being you'll be glad you did.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
Yeah it's OK rooted but quite a few apps keep shutting down!! But it is great I must say
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
Which apps fc? You could try a factory reset, flash a custom rom or of course revert back to unrooted or Flash a new stock rom. If you choose the last option ensure you run triangle away first
