Her phone will not stay connected on a call for more than 5 minutes at a time. It constantly goes into Airplane mode, and she randomly has data drops.
I've put her on AOKP 4, Liquid smooth & Android Rev HD 3.0, with Stock & Franco #2 milestone. NOTHING WORKS.
It sucks because I have no problems with mine, other than a bit of lag here and there (which may have been fixed with the Trinity Kernel).
So shes done. Already up and purchased an HTC one S. I really want her to stay in the GN but I think its just left a bad taste in her mouth.
I'm just really trying to figure out what the heck is wrong with her phone.
I haven't tried the newest 4.0.4 that was released a few days ago, but I honestly doubt its gonna do anything. Suggestions???
Stock anybody? All the way stock with ugla4 or uglc1 radio? Trying to force roms perpetually in progress is a bad idea and your desire to force customization on her left her with a bad phone.

It's probably defective, especially if you've tried the plethora of software options that people are likely to suggest. Careful buying things out of frustration, though, especially things that are brand new to the market. The One S is not immune to QC defects and such. For instace:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...phones-one-day-does-htc-have-qc-problems.html
Get her GNex replaced. Or let her just go with the One S, I'm sure it's a solid phone. There are tradeoffs that she may or may not care about when one decides to use a non-Nexus phone. Just make sure she knows.
Why would you buy your wife a Galaxy Nexus and unlock it? I'm going to assume she's not Android savy or knows what you're doing, but seriously a bad idea just asking for trouble.
Just saying.
Also, that's a hard issue.
Let her keep the One S and keep it Stock. Its a good UX and won't break on her. Personally, I wouldn't recommend a Nexus phone to someone such as your wife.

He may have unlocked it just to try some different solutions to fix or alleviate the problems they were having.
But yeah, I think the more appropriate thing to have done is just take it back and get a new one. You paid for a working phone, don't ever hesitate to keep taking it back until you get one that works as it should!
I have heard that several people with that problem have had their GN replaced and fixed the problem. When I got mine, the verizon rep specifically told
me that if I had that problem to bring it back to get replaced. I think they had a bad batch of phones....

I am using [ROM] [AOSP] MMuzzy's Jelly Bean 4.2 - JOP40C on my Gnex and I am having a problem. I, 3 or 4 times during the day, have to pull my battery because my screen goes to time out and won't come back. I can feel the phones vibrations like when I hold the power to power off but all sounds are null and the screen is blank and I can go nowhere. If anyone else is having this problem I would like to know and if anyone else can fix it same applies. Thank you.
Yes, thank god I'm not the only one. Same exact problem. I wonder if it's an auto brightness issue?
Same here, happened one time.

I was questionable where I should put it because it wasn't going to be a question more of a comment to see if anyone else had the problem. Not having it as bad now since the latest update but it has still happened. I have tried to mess with settings and everything but still same issue. Anyone figure it out?
It happened to me twice today with no way out except pulling battery or rebooting via adb shell. I just turned off auto brightness to see if it helps.

wy dont you try to reflash the rom again and see if it happens again , as if it was not happening on stock , i might be a bug , try to reflash your rom
I have kept the ROM updated and it is still doing it to me every now and then. Not sure if it is just the way it was set up or maybe it is something I am doing. Maybe we should post what we were doing the last time it froze for me I was playing music with play and went to change the song and when I pressed my power button to unlock it wouldn't do it.
It happened to me again today at the worst moment. I was trying to get a pic of my newborn niece and the phone wouldn't come back. Pulled the battery and it did it again.
Again while playing a game on my phone. Screen went blank and wouldn't come back could still hear the game playing.
This is a 4.2 thing. People have been seeing this on the stock Rom also. Don't worry it'll all be figured out soon

Well, sleep of death is when the phone doesn't wake. We're talking about the screen just turning itself off and not coming back on.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I had to re flash the 4.2.1 stock yakju google image to my phone because my bluetooth refused to turn on ever since the 4.2 and then 4.2.1 ota. But I also had this screen problem before and after the re flash. Happens a lot less if I turn off auto brightness which is how I usually had it before with 4.1.2 because auto brightness in jelly bean is generally awful. At best it would randomly change even when there was no change in room light or proximity. Then the other day I was just changing the setting manually from the quick setting and the screen went bright then completely dark. But I followed a suggestion to enable the accessibility service hotkey which helped me power it off without needing a battery pull or adb. I wish google would step up and admit these annoyingly bad 4.2 problems. I never had issues with ICS.
I didn't either. I had no issues with 4.1 but 4.2 and 4.2.1 I have had issues with. Maybe CyanogenMod will be able to fix the problems I always had good luck with it.

You're missing several "somethings". How did you find the answer last time?
maybe i meant to say is there an su.zip or superuser.apk for it...
it's up to you if you want to answer it or keep being anything but helpful. either way, i'll find my answer sooner or later. i know it's a little hard to believe but not everyone eats, sleeps and breathes android dude. the last thing i loaded on my phone was the 4.0.2 OTA update. it's definitely been a while so i really don't remember where i looked.
So I downloaded the factory image and used the flash-all.sh script as instructed by Google. I was running a custom-build 4.2.2 that had some issues, plus I wanted the new radios. Everything worked fine and dandy as expected, but just giving everyone a heads up: upon first boot, when I was setting up my WiFi and inputting my G-Mail credentials, I heard some low-faint music coming from my ear piece. Turning the volume up, I could tell that the phone had auto-dialed that Verizon "activate" number, I guess to refresh what it needed to refresh. It took all of 20-30 seconds and was finished before I was done with the setup. I was worried because I remember people saying not to do this with an LTE device, but it seems to be OK.
This is the first time I can remember or noticed the phone doing this upon returning to a stock state. Don't know if it's new behavior or what.

What battery issues are you referring to? The battery life will be determined by your use. If you have abnormally bad battery life it could be an app with a wake lock or you could just have a bad battery.
