Hi
I saw this method on how to enable soft-keys mod .
Here we go.
navigate to system/build.prop
go to the bottom of the page ( document )
add this line
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
save
reboot
check
Peace
That's great, now, how can I disable the samsung buttons? Not the home one, but the menu and back one...

Oh man
you are lucky
I found a method to do it
navigate to /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl
put a hash tag in front of the lines
key 139 menu
key 158 back
so they will look like
#key 139 menu
#key 158 back
save and reboot
Cheers
Thanks man worked great.

Hey guys. Is there any fix or mod for making the home button on your s3 wake the device without closing the app that was open before the screen turned off. I am really used to turning on my screen from the home button (used to work on ICS) and now (JB) everytime the screen turns off and i try to wake it with the home button, I go back to the homescreen.
Please help !! thanks
UPDATE:
So the 2 solutions that worked for me either to have s-voice enabled or #&[email protected] s-voice and install jkay framework which has a built in fix
+1
I notice that this behavior is gone on Sotmax V8 rom.

Works great! so nice! Thanks a lot!
I tried editing the Generic keyboard layout with ES note editor.
Added WAKE on key 172.
Seems to work but after a restart my menu and back keys don't work.
I just added WAKE didn't touch anything else.
Seems I'll need the Original file.
EDIT:
Fixed permissions and works great.
Thanks.

i did something little different. even after adding wake at key 172 and fixing permissions it takes me to the home screen rather than waking up the device only. i added this :
key 172 HOME WAKE_DROPPED
after doing this, re started my phone. works like a charm!

Bread crumbs.
Download S4 rom in zip format onto desktop extract sounds you seek: Path - System/Media/Audio/UI .
From there place ogg files on SD then copy/past using Root Explorer following same path for drop off.
I found the lock sound but not the lock sound

Hey guys just wondering if there's a fix/work around for increasing the volume via volume up bottom without turning the screen on. I have root and I'm on stock jb 1.96 Rom with volume wake mod.
Is there a way to easily disable/enable this mod? Thanks!

Yep. You'll need a computer and ADB installed though.

I love you, man! Been wanting this since I got my Pixel 2 XL.
Works a treat for me.
Now all I need is to re-orient the volume buttons when in landscape mode. Makes no-sense in landscape mode to have the L volume button make sound louder.

I believe the Pro version of Button Mapper can do that.

There is a thread here on XDA about it. You could ask around in that thread if you want to make sure before you buy.
