[Q] Home button wake - Galaxy S III Themes and Apps

Hey guys. Is there any fix or mod for making the home button on your s3 wake the device without closing the app that was open before the screen turned off. I am really used to turning on my screen from the home button (used to work on ICS) and now (JB) everytime the screen turns off and i try to wake it with the home button, I go back to the homescreen.
Please help !! thanks
UPDATE:
So the 2 solutions that worked for me either to have s-voice enabled or #&[email protected] s-voice and install jkay framework which has a built in fix

+1

I notice that this behavior is gone on Sotmax V8 rom.

hmmm ill give it a try, ive tried omega rom and wanamlite, but both dont have this feature
is Sotmax V8 good as these roms or not in your opinion? thanks

or just go to Svoice setting and enable "launch Svoice by double pressing home button"

on 4.1.2 it do the right way.. you press homescreen, unlock and you are in the open app..

svoice introduces a bit of lag using the home button. In ICS there was a fix for that

?????? Galaxy S3 ??????

Works great! so nice! Thanks a lot!

I tried editing the Generic keyboard layout with ES note editor.
Added WAKE on key 172.
Seems to work but after a restart my menu and back keys don't work.
I just added WAKE didn't touch anything else.
Seems I'll need the Original file.
EDIT:
Fixed permissions and works great.
Thanks.

i did something little different. even after adding wake at key 172 and fixing permissions it takes me to the home screen rather than waking up the device only. i added this :
key 172 HOME WAKE_DROPPED
after doing this, re started my phone. works like a charm!

[Mod]Enable on-screen buttons like Nexus..

Based on this thread i make a zip for our I9300.
Ι do not know if anyone use it. (I don't)
I did it just to see if is working or not and i share with you.
Tested on WanamLite ICS XXBLFB V1.5
Backup your system/framework/framework-res.apk before flash.
If anything goes wrong just replace the framework-res.apk from my zip with your framework-res.apk.
I'm not responsable if any boot-Loop caused by this or anything.
Thank's.

I had a bootloop on Omega 8.1 ROM after install that mod. Just restored original framework-res.apk...
Will this work with stock touchwiz?
this works for me on stock rom
bt then im usin nova launcher
Could you put any image to see how is it?
This sounds tempting and the only way to use a bluetooth mouse properly as without having a virtual back button I found myself tapping back button tons of times.

Can you open the camera app and see if it adjusts to the changed screen size after enabling the buttons? Mine doesn't, which makes the camera unusable with soft buttons enabled.

The camera is the only reason why I return to stock ROMs. Otherwise, CM9 is better in all other aspects. Then again, stock Camera doesn't work with soft keys and I hate the physical home button. Tough choice..

key 158 back

#key 139 menu
#key 158 back

it supports gestures, expanded desktops and Pie Softkeys with long press function as in Paranoid rom and some more nice features

Is there a way to customize the "Recent" soft key to "Menu"? When I added the script while using the CM10 rom, I could change them around in the navigation settings. I recently switched back to the stock JB version, but added soft keys because my hardkeys stopped working after I dropped it in a spa
Any advice would be much appreciated!

Is there any way to make the Soft Keys smaller.. (at least 50% smaller than its original size/height)... its because my phone (the Galaxy S Advance) has a resolution of only 480x800.... I just feel like there is not enough space on my screen to be honest, that's why I'm asking this....

- I can't take Screenshots anymore, using my Home + Power Button
- My dialer app is getting covered with the Soft keys.. so I can't call anyone because I can't tap on the call button

Flashlight from lockscreen

Hi,
I am on eXistenz ultra ROM, I was wondering if there is anyway to activate the flashlight with a physical button from lock screen ?
On my S4 I can just press home button to do so but ZL don't have home button so is it possible to do with long press power button or volume or camera button?
Thanks

Yes, you can do so,you'll need :
1)Root
2) Xposed framework
3) Gravity box
When you'll have all of the above :
*open up gravity box app(after activating it from the xposed modules screen and a reboot )
*hardware key actions
*scroll down
*lockscreen torch
You can enable torch in either of the two options given there(on home button long press(only when display is on),or volume down button long press(available when display is off) )
If you feel that I've helped you in anyway, please hit the thank button

Using an app called Torchie, just press both 'volume buttons' together to turn on/off torch anytime. It runs as a background service and just works anytime, even when screen off (if enabled from Torchie Settings). It kinda make your phone feel like a conventional battery operated torch. No root required.
