Volume wake?

I'm running a stock deodexed 2.54 rom. Is there anyway to get the volume rocker to wake the phone? My power button is a lil wore out lol. Also a way for the volume button to be the shutter button for the camera?

[Q] How to wake my Nexus by Volume keys ?

Hello, How can I make my phone wakes up by the volume keys ? I'm nooby so if anyone explain in amore simple way would be great !

I don't think the stock Rom supports volume key wake. You will have to look into flashing a custom rom , like CM10 or any of the other alternatives, to get that feature.

If you rooted, we can make it... check in app and theme forum, you will get mod

How to take screenshot without using hardware button?

Is there any app that can take screenshot using for example a small button overlay on screen?
My phone is unrooted for some apps to work.
I searched and the only way is to connect to computer via USB.
I wonder if I can flash some package via recovery to enable me to take screenshot for unrooted phones.

There are a few custom ROMs that you can set a a Nav bar button long press to take screen shots. For example, I have my recent apps button set to take screen shots on long press.

Not that I know of especially without taking code and merging/compiling code which is what people that ROMs do. It would be easier to flash aokp ROM or team eos (my daily driver) which you can do this. You can customize the colors too and also assign the nav buttons to launch apps.

Just flashed this mod, after 5 hours playing around, still no FC's comin up...Can see a bit improvements in lagness reduction...Fast system...
About volume increase thing, thats not true...This mod just adding extra stepping in volume leveler...No gain in vol at all, just that more vol level step is there....
Btw thanks for this mod, its stable i can say

Can i use for odexed Rom?
Im using Xperia Ion and XZX2_v2 ROM and i want to test but im affraid get soft brick (stuck at Xperia logo)!! And must wait to battery over!!
Can any one help me??

Gtalk and sms app crash when trying to select text from input field, could anyone confirm that?

what the OP mean in not increasing the maximum volume
What he/she mean is a smoother volume increase.

Fix found (maybe) by my method
If you try to fix it by using the person method that I quoted,and noticed that the more smooth mod is gone,simply reflash the mod back...

As long as it's set in settings swiping the screen with the edge of your hand should take a screen shot

There should be some buttons combination, like power button + home button for android 4.3 (stock one), and the older combination was power button + vol.down.
I've checked on CM-REMIX (android 4.4.2) and the 2nd combination of buttons works.
There's always a button combination for a screen shot (since android 4.0+ I think).

As you didn't mention what ROM you are running I assume you are running the stock firmware, Samsung's TouchWiz video player got a built-in button to take video shots.

The method mentioned above should work, me personally I use a module for Xposed Installer called Xposed Gesture Navigation and from the settings choose the gestures you want, and their action.
