help-which region is cid j_15? - HTC One X

i want to know which which region is cid j_15?
which ruu should i download?
is it middle east or Europe

If you mean HTC__J15, this is the Middle-East unbranded CID.
According to this page, you have to flash this RUU:
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_HTC_ARA_1.28.415.9_Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_25679_signed.exe
You'll easily find a download link on Google.

Yes but if he's on software 2.17 (ics 4.04) then this ruu is not going to work !
Do fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main
It will give the software number that has to match the ruu number !

thats all the data of the phone i that there is a custom rom installed
but how the cid is j-15 and the rom is 3.14.401 which is the Europe rom
any help?

I also have the htc__j15 .. not rooted and want to update it. How ?

HTC__J15 is for MEA (Middle-East and Africa)
If you want to update to JB sense, you will have to manually flash hboot 1.31 which is a test version (causes sensor problem in some phones)
you will have to void your warranty to install the software from a custom recovery.
My suggestion is wait a couple more weeks before getting the official update.

Any j15 got his update ? It has been a while.... :crying:

S-OFF/SuperCID = Flash any RUU?

Does s-off and supercid guarantee that i can run the 3.14.707.24 RUU or any other RUU even if I am coming from a 2.17.401.2 RUU?

You can flash anything on a super CID device.
As long as the CID matches the RUU your installing.
But on superCID devices, you can change your CID. So change your CID to match the RUU and your away.

Updating to Stock JB

I want to know if is it possible to update my device which doesn't have JB update yet, with CID HTC__J15, to JellyBean without rooting my device or unlocking my bootloader using RUUs?
Is it possible for example to update my hboot and then download the leaked JB Europe RUU and install it on my HOX?
If your hboot isn't supported yet, you have to wait for the official update.

No your cid is not in the list of supported cids of that ruu. You can not install it !
In the 2.17 ruu your cid actually was supported in the RUU, but in the JB ruu your cid is not listed so you will end up with an error !

Hboot update

Hboot is the boot loader, the one you go into by holding vol down and power hboot update can only be provided by HTC, and there's none so far. I figure you're asking for sense jellybean?
Ruu is ROM update utility, if you want to go to stock rom use this.
Cid is related to your region. You can use a ruu only with a specific cid

Just a brief of the question asked:
hboot
is the bootloader - sort of the bios for PC.
what it do - basically when device is switched ON, it checks the hardware, initializes the hardware and starts the Operating System i.e Android or Recovery when you select Recovery
For newer hTC device since the One series, the radio comes with the hboot.
For Jellybean update, the hboot rework the partitions.
How to check - reboot to bootloader you should see the hboot version written there. The latest hboot for One V is 1.18.0000
How to update - running a RUU or the OTA update released by hTC or manually fastboot flash the firmware.zip (with a proper method).
RUU and OTA
RUU - Rom Update Utility - a file released by hTC according to the CID.
OTA - Over The Air update released by hTC with patches to update the earlier software version according to CID
CID
Carrier ID also now is more known as Country ID. hTC released software version based on the country/region they sell the device to the distributors(not from where you buy the device). You may buy a CID for Asia in USA because the distributor sell them not hTC.
How to know your CID - download the CID Getter from PlayStore and runs it.

thx for info,
mine is 1.17.0000
- I wonder how to update that to latest version.
- is that significant or any different ?
BTW, already unlock, with s-on and CM10.
Mine is 1.17.0000 too,and I would want to know how I can update it as I'm not running official rom
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
You can update it only with the official ROM, the steps already explained above
1. CID Getter - to check your CID
2. Find the RUU to revert to official ROM or your stock Nand backup
3. If there is a newer RUU then your hboot.. running the RUU will update the hboot
4. If there is only RUU for your hboot - you need the OTA update after installing the official ROM

Relock the bootloader and keep the phone in the relocked bootloader and then run this ruu with admin rights
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...52-radio-2120413520-release-275980-signedexe/
After the ruu you update with the official ota's from within the phone (update menu)

Then just run the ruu

Something fishy going on ! The 415 ruu didn't work i assume. You could try the 2.17.401 ruu !
You tried the 3.14 ruu and that failed because of the low hboot you have now. It can't jump from that low to that high one.

Back again
Unfortunately the 2.17.401 ruu did not work as well.
Here is what I'm going to do and would like your guidance..
1- flash firmware package for JB htc__102 from here
2- unlock bootoader from htc dev
3- flash custom recovery
4- flash stock jelly bean rom (odexed) and boot.img provided by mike1986.from here
5- flash stock recovery back again and relock bootloader to be able to receive ota updates
Will this work?
You can try. If the firmware is wrong it won't be flashed anyway. But yeah it is an option to try. But i think it will fail because the 2.17 ruu should have updated the hboot too. A ruu or ota file contains the firmware package that you will try to flash seperatly with command.
Give it a shot. But the info your phone is giving by the cid and main commands are not in line with what they should be !
