Any help for that? I think it drains battery faster than the stock ROM

Placebo here...
Battery life on cm10.1 seemed just as good as stock to me.

To me it drains the battery very fast. Hmm
Batt drains fast
I've noticed a quicker drain on the batt as well. When I looked at the batt info it had Messaging using 67% of the battery. This is with the first release of CM 10.1
I am loading the latest nightly now. Lets see if that fixes it.
Battery on 10.1 cm with stock cm kernel was definitely worse than stock. With Trinity it wasn't so bad but was not stable. Aosp ROM with Trinity seems to be the best battery life right now.
I'm using rasbean jelly. And it's a beast man. Great in every aspect!

Not sure what the problem was but after loading a new nightly the batt life improved. Messaging doesn't even show up on batt statistics.

Hey guys
I'm experimenting with the Franco kernel (r89 currently) and I'm wondering if anyone has any info on whether one ROM or another is any more processor intensive than another and, if one is better, if anyone has any suggestions for battery friendly ROMs to run with Franco.
Cheers, Paul
GSM Galaxy Nexus
ROM - Cyanogen 9-20120312-NIGHTLY-maguro
Kernel - 3.0.8-franco.Kernel-nightly 89
Liquid gives me the most battery life.
And which AOKP? more details

Yeah, sorry, milestone 4, have you used it?

i cant comment on cm9, never tired it. im currently running milestone 4 and get great battery life. usually about 20 hours idle and 3 hours of screen to kill the stock battery. i dont have anything syncing except weather every 4 hours. No problems with kernel wakelocks.
Awesome, may try Milestone shortly. Is a kernel wakelock exactly what it sounds like, not waking from sleep?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
a wakelock keeps your phone from going to sleep properly when you turn off the screen, ie still using your cpu and battery. check out this thread about wakelocks. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1462020
Will do, thanks for the info, learning more every day

For battery life check the 4.0.4 roms or liquidsmooth. better battery and performance too.

OP uses the GSM variant of the Galaxy Nexus. There are no 4.0.4 roms for the GSM Galaxy Nexus.

i m using gsm version too and i m running 4.0.4. There are 2 4.0.4 roms currently modaco and foxhound with aokp modifications.
i have no issues with cyanogenmod (4.0.3) and battery life, though i do run a custom kernel (fugumod's)
I use CM9/Franco-kernel and have better batterylife then stock (4.0.1) but I have also heard thet 4.0.4 should be better. I'm hoping we soon get the source for 4.0.4
I recently flashed AOKP with Franco's kernel and my battery life dropped significantly. Before I was running MoDaCo 4.0.4 and it was really good, now its borderline unacceptable. Which ROMs are the best for battery life?

Rascream sandwich rom + trinity Fw3 kernel in my personal experience.
Now im testing slim + og's 3.1 pure kernel....n its getting similar performance in battery life

Personally up till a couple of days ago I was running stock 4.0.4 with Franco's Kernel AND his Kernel Updater app. He has this mod called HotPlug that turns off a CPU when the screen's off, very cool.
However with IMM76I I'm getting similar battery life stock, unrooted. I got better battery life with 4.0.4 and Franco's than AOKP and Franco's.
So my battery life is just not good, I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong or not doing.... but even when the phone is off it loses battery life really quick.
Is there maybe something I'm missing or need to do?

Happens to me too...I tried calibrator apps and still no luck i actually left cm9 last night and to rujelus22 it was good but ended up running into problems but maybe you should try flashing a different rom or charge your phone fully then reflash cm9 let the battery drain all the way then charge it again fully...

Yeah I wasn't sure if there is some setting I can change, might just end up getting the bigger battery like I did my Evo and call it a day! Other then that I love my cm9

Hey, I would try to flash an updated kernel for the cm9 alpha 3. Alpha3 comes with FD10 and I found that it made the Android OS drain my battery faster than it should. With FD26 the Android OS drain on my battery has been much lower. However, from what I hear which kernel works best varies on the phone, so I would try a couple others.
Hey there!
I've been reading for a long time in this forum- mostly about increasing battery life!
I always thought my battery life is average but today I just have to share my battery stats with you and ask for advice- many people getting 3-4h screen on time, I roughly get 2h!!
I'm using xylon 011 custom rom with latest franco kernel (r344). Baseband is XXLH1 with corresponding RIL. I'm using no live wallpaper and just hd widgets (syncing weather every hour) and google play music widget. I have two mail accounts syncing every 3h, facebook off and maps no location service what so ever! I also uninstalled lightflow! Gps always disabled, wifi on as much as possible- rest of the time 3G.
Brightness on auto-default values!
Thanks for your help!
Check these battery stats!!

Bump- is it possible that I have to buy a new battery after one year?
Last franco's nightly(r344) as some problems, including huge idle battery drain. The only thing you can do is downgrade to r342 or change kernel or patiently wait for a fix. Me too using r344,in 5 hours my battery was expired! I'm waiting for a fix
Regards
Try using 007 kernel. I found I want to be the most effective for battery life

Thanks for this input but I recently bought franco's app for just too much to just switch kernels now ^^
I hope it is really the kernel that is the problem! This drain is so annoying- reverting to r342 now, posting back!
I have Franco's app too but I don't like the newer revisions and I really like the 007 kernel performance and battery life. Worth a shot no harm done

Faux123 kernel is by far the best and everyone neglects it. Try the mainline smartreflex version and use his app to tweak it for even better battery life.
Thanks I hope franco will fix the drain soon! If not I'll try 007 or so!

Zen is by far the smoothest and most battery friendly kernel I have tried in my Toroplus. With every other kernel, the battery drain graph would drop like a stone - it merely dips in small increments with Zen v14.1 (screen is on throughout the duration of the attached graph).

My battery is Draining in CyanogenMod 10/10.1 . I have tried calibrating my battery, done battery cycles, used tons of different kernel with usage of different governors, but the battery doesn't last for even a day. Deep sleeps come about 96%-85%. I have even turned off WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS etc.
In Gingerbread the battery is very good and does not drain like in CyanogenMod. I have tried battery saving apps such as Juice Defender and noticed that battery drains more faster than usual. Is there any FiX?!
I just wiped my phone and started from scratch and decided to not add any tweaks at all. I am using Cm9 RC8 with Hursky kernel 2.6 and I've noticed a huge jump in my battery life. Before I was using RAM Manager with Cross breeder with XBurst on RC 6 with Chronos and I find my phone is actually faster without them. Before, with limited use, I was getting 16 hours maximum and now I was able to get a day and a half under the same conditions!
I wonder which change would make the biggest difference, but maybe give it a try. My phone feels more stable too.

So Cm has very good battery life....I see. But I dint install any tweaks but battery still drains..well I will give it a try.
Probably because CM 10/10.1 is still at its early stages? Cm9 is quite stable thus the battery is good.

I wanted a solution on how to get good battery life in Jelly Bean...but I will try Cm9 with fresh apps.
If you want a even better battery life than tebor8 is having, use CM9 RC2 or RC3 with 2.6.35 kernel, or the older Slimbeam ROM with 2.6.35 kernel. The old 2.6.35 kernel is draining much less than the new 3.x kernel in CM9 and CM10.

I want to use the latest CyanogenMod, but still if the battery lasts for at least 1 and a half day, its somewhat enough.
