I don't know if you guys have the problem. Sometimes when I hit the back button, it hits twice for me, resulting in unwanted exit of apps or two pages of backward on web browser. I encounter this everyday, not very often but annoying enough. Any one has the same problem or solution?

I get that feeling too, sometimes I dont even feel like I touched it when it goes back lol You'll get better at not touching it I guess. ^_^
I have just looked for a solutuon to this issue and decided to use on screen keys.

My evo is acting up, hasn't been activated for 30 days yet so I can't file an insurance claim on it, wondering if there is something I can do to try and make it work. My touchscreen goes through spurts where it acts funky. The V G and Y keys don't respond to any touch and the whole area around the keys seems dead. when I hit either of the keys the screen picks up the key to the left of it. Now it doesn't always do this, just sometimes. I can rub the screen on my shirt and the keys will almost always go back to working. When this happens sense also acts up. Swiping to change screens doesn't work. Sometimes the screen hangs halfway between screens and stays there. Also with the browser when I try to scroll the browser will zoom almost like there is another finger on the screen doing pinch to zoom. It seems like a software problem because also at this time all of my sense widgets get messed up.
Is there a way to re-flash the stock rom back to the evo and start over? Hard reset doesn't do anything to alleviate the problem.
Don't chance it. File a claim.

After having a week with the Note 2, I have found a rather annoying problem with the screen and was wondering if anyone else has the same issue.
The problem involves the portion of the screen where the "L" key is. Sometimes it triggers on touch but most of the time it doesn't. To test, all you have to do is mash on the "L" key repeatedly. Mash all over the region of the key and if your key doesn't respond at time, then you have the same issue as me. The funny part is, the region to the right of the key works fine. I can mash all I want and the key registers.
I have attached an image that highlights in green of the area I have having issues with. I also tested this by turning the phone to landscape and mashing the key that falls into the green area. I do have a screen protector but I removed it and the problem is still there.
I am currently using SwiftKey 3 but this issue happens on the Samsung and Swype keyboards as well.
I'm going to call ATT and ask for an exchange.
im not getting that

I had that issue...but it was because I had button savior installed...and I think it was looking for that edge swipe gesture. anyhow I uninstalled button savior and all is well.
Its really annoy. Menu and Search keep pressed for no reason. I left on desk and look, and menu and search keep pop and look like phone caught virus and play itself. I see my friend got phone with no button but button was on Screen UI. I want on my phone and disable damn annoy button. Sometime my phone "back button" keep pause on game or exit some app. My phone got bricked and tjagged because I was tried on Trinagle away then it sudden Home key hit when I click process.
There any way to disable button and use button UI?
Thanks, Sam
It sounds like you're dealing with the Phantom menu popup issue. It has been talked about here before. It appears to be a hardware defect that usually manifests when signal strength is low. Try turning off data.

You can follow my tutorial. Read the OP a few times to fully understand how to do it before you try it.

When the phone is awakened via the home button (with no slide to unlock/password set), the "recent apps" menu opens (as if the home button was being held down)
Seems to mostly happen only when the phone is awakened. Anyone seen/heard of the issue?
Common issue. It was discussed a lot a while back, not so much lately. Either way it's not sticking it's a software bug the easiest fix is to use a lockscreen, but dwitherell posted a fix in the jedi thread a while ago. I think I have a link to the post (it involves decompiling files) if you want it

Mine sometimes does it too. But it only happens when the phone goes off after the screen timeout is triggered (a minute for me). And when I'll wake it again it brings up my recent apps, that's the only time it'll happen though. But that's still not supposed to happen is it?

hi guys, does any one else experience this problem..
i usually wake the phone up with the home button, but sometimes i press it, the image will pop up and then close and it will be asleep again, it will keep doing this for a while, but then a couple of hours later it will be fine..
ive experience this a number of times, abit annoying but the power button is there so not a major issue
Using: stock lockscreen with picture. Happened here as well, triggering the home button works for me.
I also have same problem sometime. Not a big deal, just an annoyance.

glad im not the only one..haha
quite the same
This really bothers me, so does the absence of the amazon feedback or technical support.
I donĀ“t think this is a problem caused by the home button.
I guess this comes from the proximity sensor under the front camera.
Cover it and it will be the same.
Sometimes i had the same problem in an dark environment with an screen protector at the phone.
Changing the screen protection worked for me.
I have the same problem. My phone is still in the clear plastic to protect as I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the device. My home button has never worked to awake the device.
The plastic protective cover is causing this.
