Hox rebooting - HTC One X

Hi its my first time writting in the forums and id like some people that know something about androids to help me.Im 8 month user and dont know much about devices. So my problem is after the official jelly bean update my hox rebooted the first day for 2-3 times and after that the second day it rebooted time after time.Sometimes it was stuck at the Htc boot screen or about 20 seconds after most widgets loaded on screen. My device is on guaranty and they told me that htc needs 2 weeks to fix it.

If its a stock device , not tampered with.....keep it that way and let the customer service handle it. A friend of mine had a bootloop after the JB update, also have it back to the service centre.....

Good luck

7-8 weeks
Ok so i got reply from customer service about my phone and they told me that the prossesor of the phone needs to be changed and it will take about 7-8 weeks.Never getting an Htc again.I think that they make Htc devices at a planet near Mars thats why it takes so long!

Wrong thread, my apologies.

[Q] O2 UK Desire 2.1 rebooted its self.

Now its just stuck on the O2 logo boot screen and won't go any further!
I've tried the recovery mode and that just does the same! Is there anyway I can recover from this?!?!? Nothing new has been downloaded, its not rooted (I was going to do though!)
Can I get it working again... any help (and links needed!) would be gratefully appreciated...
Yours, a worried person!
PS if any more info is needed to help, just let me know.
I've had the same thing as this but not write as severe. My unlocked Desire reboots itself when being charged and using navigation. After about 10 minutes of use, it reboots.
I phoned HTC UK who confirmed that this was a known issue. They told me that the solution was to change the main board. They also told me that I should live with it for the time being as they only had 15 boards in stock and so, I may be without a phone for a little while.
BTW mine is running 2.2 and still reboots.

Mine was doing the same - either try an official RUU (didnt work for me) or try flashing a PB99IMG (worked for me the first time - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=747775).
Mine got past the boot screen after i did this, but after a few hours it did the same thing & this time the PB99IMG method failed for me.
Gave mine in for repair today - they told me it would take 2-4 weeks!
@scorror sorry, mine isn't on o2, its on three.co.uk. It was part of their first batch which were unlocked/ unbranded with OTA Froyo a couple of weeks ago.

How old is it? And was it on O2? I've got a feeling a lot are doing this? My friends at work (also O2) is rebooting its self at least 3 times a week for no good reason!
Did they give you a loan phone while yours is in for repaire? Mine is just over 2 months old, I'll be pissing and moaning to get it replaced and not repaired.
Have you tried contacting o2?
PS tried the PB99IMG.zip method, it went all the way through, but failed on the CID check at the end, and just asked for a reboot. Does anyone have a link to an O2 download of the zip and not the Generic HTC one?? Long shot I know...

This is the only available RUU for O2 phones:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Bra..._32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_124865.exe
There's a good chance that this won't install, as most O2 phones seem to have more recent software than this.
But if you haven't rooted or changed your ROM and the phone won't boot or go into recovery it sounds more like a hardware fault.

Well, tried that, and its now totally goosed!!! It started to go through the install of the new (well downgraded image) and then it sat on waiting for bootloader for ages, then said it had lost connection with the phone. I wont even turn on now. I dont get an orange light to say its charging from mains power like I used to do.
It has to be hardware related, as like you say, ots not rooted, it was the same ROM that shipped with the phone, its just, for want of a better word... F*****! Went into an O2 shop this arvo, but it was way too busy so didn't even get chance to see what they could do (exchange/repair) like I keep saying... Soooooo damn annoyed its untrue. 1st phone I've ever had that I couldn't recover in some way...
If you call HTC they will arrange a repair. O2 will just send it off to them anyway.

Was the same up to today, mainly rebooting when charging in the car with GPS on, but rebooted 6 times today when using tinternet at work.
Called HTC who are collecting next Monday to replace mainboard!!!!
Told in will take a few days to a week to do. Will have to use old touch diamond for these few days!!
To add to this:
I downloaded a battey temp monitor, and my Desire turned off in the car on 22oc, 26oc, 28oc & 30oc. It turned off when using normally mainly when HSDPA connection was present, but not always, and temps have been anything up tp 36oc.
More:
Unit was fine for the first month or so, and started after. Rebooting has been present on 2.1 and 2.2, but getting worse (which htc said also)
I did a hard reset earlier today but still the same, if not worse!
Running 2.2 now, phone was from mobiles.co.uk and was one of the first
It runs fine most of the time strangely enough though
well took it into O2 today, on the paper work I got back it said Repair Agent: Anovo UK Repairs. Repair or replace 7-10 working days.
Not sure if the above can't fix it will I just get a refurbished one, or will they send it to HTC to fix.. who knows at this point... who knows...

Motorola Fire XT (XT530) does not power on

Hello,
I have been using this phone for the past 3 months and I haven't had any problems. I recently upgraded to version 2.3.5 and everything was ok with noticeable improvements to battery backup also.
The problem started yesterday when the phone restarted twice on its own and I thought there must be a problem with some running processes and I decided to switch off and on the phone. After switching off, I haven't been able to turn on the phone back again. There is no display when I press the power key, and initially it used to vibrate briefly when I power ON and now it has stopped doing that also.
I have tried different recovery methods from the internet by removing the battery, sim and memory card and even trying to get into recovery mode. The phone seems to be completely dead now with the key back lights illuminating when connected to the charger being the only response in the phone.
Please help me in identifying the problem and recovering the phone.
Have you rooted your phone ?
Rooted and installed ClockworkMod ROM manager
Yes, I have rooted the phone and this problem started after installing ClockworkMod ROM manager. I have currently given the phone for service.
Since the phone is currently not powering ON, can the service personnel find out if I have rooted the phone thereby making the warranty void? If the warranty is void what options do I have?
Mostly they will not notice ..... Have they got back to you ?
The reason why it crashed is because no one has made a CWM Recovery for the XT530 ... .. This phone really has poor development support its soo sad ...

Plz tell what can be done??
Motherboard replacement for dead motorola fire xt
Motorola service hasn't been able to flash the device with proper firmware and now they have decided to change the motherboard. They say it will take a few more days to get the motherboard possibly from their office from Bangalore. Keeping my fingers crossed till I get back the phone and hopefully there aren't any new problems with the new motherboard.

if your phone is within its warranty period, you can take it over to the nearest service centre for motorola. You can find the details for the service centres across India from their website. Do not mention that you have rooted the phone and tried installing cynogenmod.

I am still waiting for the service center to replace the motherboard and I hope to get it this week.
Since the phone is completely dead, they haven't been able to establish a connection via USB and hence they haven't found out that the phone was rooted earlier.
Yeah....my phone is fine now and it is working. I sent the phone to motorola service center to repair it. First they changed the motherboard but still the phone did not work. i sent the phone again and then they said that the battery had been locked and then they unlocked the battery and my phone got working!!......

Great to hear that you have got your phone back in working condition. Mine is still in the service center and they say it will take a few more days to get the replacement motherboard. I do have the following questions regarding your serviced phone.
- What do you mean by "battery has been locked"? What happens and how to detect the same.
- Did you get your replacement motherboard with the updated 2.3.5 software?

That is really really bad service from Motorola. What reasons were they giving you for the delay over a period of a month? It has already been frustrating without the phone for the last 2 weeks and thinking of waiting for few more weeks and not days is making me literally mad ...
Is there anyway we can escalate the issue to get a better and faster response from them?

Its really very difficult to contact the service center over the phone as they rarely answer calls. I have now tried registering a complaint with Motorola customer care in order to escalate the issue. The problem is they are very vague about the time it would take to get the phone serviced. In this day and age if you cannot give a definitive commitment then it is very difficult to sustain.

Got back the phone but GPS not working
I finally got back my phone from the service center and have upgraded to version 2.3.5. I have restored all my settings and applications and everything seems to be fine except for GPS.
GPS does not work now and it does not detect any satellites. I have tried various GPS specific applications and also tried some SW fixes and still there is no improvement. I think there is no other alternative other than to take it back to the Motorola service center to get this problem fixed. The GPS was working fine before they replaced the motherboard. Is there any HW fix possible for the GPS radio?
My phone is still in service center now from past 12 days ..

HTC: Your One X needs motherboard and battery replacement

Hello guys,
I'm a first time Android user. I was an iPhone guy. Only last August that I decided to go Android since it gives more freedom to its users. So I bought an HTC One X and I extremely enjoyed using it for the last 2 months. But not until now.
Before I state the problem, let me clear things first: I'm not a heavy user. I didn't root my phone because I don't know how to.
So, here's the problem:
I was just playing Subway Surfers when my phone suddenly turned off. It booted up again but when it shows the HTC logo, it says "this build is for development purposes only..." all in red color (which looks really scary - well, atleast for me)
After that, It showed the bootloader (as my friend says), and it shows: "Security warning" and "locked" words above. My friend got it work again by doing Factory Reset in HBoot. My OneX went back to normal but suddenly turned off again and booted in bootloader. Again, my friend got it working again by doing the first thing he did. After that, all things seems good (except I lost all my data). But there's a popping error message all the time. What I did was I decided to do a Factory Reset again, but this time, through the Settings. After that, the error message is not showing up, and I started installing all my apps again. But after a day, while playing Subway Surfers, my OneX suddenly turned off again, but this time, won't turn on anymore.
I tried to read tutorials and articles about One X not turning on. But I really don't understand many terms that are included in troubleshooting the handset. So, I decided to take it to HTC Philippines service center for repair since I know they know what should be done. After 3 days, I called them and said that my device needed a replacement for the mainboard/mother board and the battery.
I don't have a warranty and didn't do anything on the phone. I did dropped it once but that was a month ago and approximately 2-3 feet only. I didn't root my phone or any other kind of software tweaking.
Mainboard and battery costs too much, and I can't afford that. I'm sorry for posting all these here, but I don't have any other choice. I don't know where to seek help.
i had the same problem wiht my desire
an had no warranty paper
what i didt was i called htc an they said that if the phone wasnt reg stolen or lost an it still was reg under warranty they woult fix it wihtout papers an my friend they didt that
they can see under the imie if u have warranty so they shut fix it according to htc them self
Uh... why don't you have a warranty? You know that comes with the phone right? It hasn't even been out one year.

I went to HTC Philippines and if my phone has warranty, they should have said it already to me and won't ask for any charges.
Is there any possible solution here? I am thinking that this could just be a software problem since I've read that HTC requires devices to change the mainboard if the phone is rooted/or stuck in bootloader. As I said earlier, I got a security warning message before my phone completely shuts down.
Phone HTC and demand a replacement/repair. Its under warranty.
Does it say locked or relocked on the top of the bootloader screen?(out of interest).
You could also run an ruu.

Did u play subway surfer while charging? Playing game while charging could be the cause of ur blown up motherboard and battery. It happens to my notebook.

[q] [urgent help] hox restarting motherboard problem

Guys,
I am just a person like you keep watching the post, but my situtation turned out to be the worst.
I brought my HOX 6 months ago, I unlocked before 2 months and installed CFW CM10 and others. I was playing acutally with different CFW. When I got really board and wanted to go to orginal Firmware (sense) I wanted to reinstall. I did that by formatting relocking. And then one day I installed what's up and then the problem started. They phone started to restart 1 or 2 a day and it started to become more often. That time there was no JB. So I thought I will have JB and I tried many FW and nothing worked. Everything keeps restarting.
But I remember just after What's up its all happened. Now recently 20 Days before JB OFW came I updated the same by going back to the nandroid 2.17 and installed JB. But still the issue was going on. It never stopped it started to restart every 30 min - 45 min.
Now a week before I gave the phone to Customer Care (service center) today I called them to ask for an update and they r saying " please get your phone back, we cannot do anything, the unoffical sofware has damaged your mother board we need 16 K Rs for replacing the same"
Now what should I say when I go to collect the phone ?
Is there a way that we can fix this ? As I can see how can a software could damage a phone ?
NOTE: While charging the phone ever restarts !!!
This isn't going to help but I thinkthey are using that as a cop out. I'm no expert but the only way I can see that happening its out the Ron caused overhearing to the extrey. I hope I don't have go get mine repairedfor whatever reason.

My HTC One X's story (APX)

I bought my phone from second hand without guarantee documents!
A day, me and my OneX went to a restaurant and waiting for food.
I want to check my e-mails and turned on WiFi but the WiFi is can't turn on :S
Ok, restart... bootloop.... factory reset...
After factory reset, i had the menu of languages. I chose my language and the phone can't respond... ok i lock my screen and reunlock my screen. I locked but i can't unlock :S
Ok. I "drop" my phone to another gsm service. I waited 3 month for my phone and he "drop me back" with this message: You phone is unrepairable.
I said What the f***!?
1 month later....
_______
I contact with HTC support. He gave me a Service adress. I send the phone to this service 2013.02.26. ... Today the service sent me a message to my old phone "Your phone repaired, you can take it on our customer service. Have a nice day!".
My phone is fully repaired without documents for 0 price!
Thank you HTC!

i sended last friday also my phone in because of the faulty wifi and bad battery life, really bad battery life...ok and because of another repair center my screen wasn't really original anymore and what do i reading on their letter today as i got my phone back ....lcd screen changed ...now it's again new like it is a new phone ...wifi repaired and battery was changed because of overheating and poor battery life ...WITHOUT paying something i think htc was reading that this all was f*cking us up with the repair centers due to sh*t support and now ....i'm sooooo happy *_*
Well both of you are very lucky indeed. Mine broke over xmas, basically loads of system apps started to force close like android.com and so on. This went on for a week and I got really annoyed and installed ARHD then freeze...nothing. I force restart and it never turned on again, I plugged it into the pc and I got a message saying driver could not be installed and there was an exclamation mark over where the htc driver was. So basically I think it was in some low power state such as APX but I don't know. I think there is confusion over what APX mode is around here.
To OP what made you think you had APX as you claim in the title.
In the end my carrier charged me £ 76.00 because they said I voided my warranty due to me installing what they said was Illegal Software on it. You are so lucky mate.
