I noticed on footballs onemaximus the CID list has been removed,
Does this mean you can now flash to JB independent of your CID?
Currently on Hboot 12.1000 so I'm guessing I'd have to update it. If I do update the hboot will my old ISC rom still work or will I have to flash to JB then?
Do you mean 1.12?
No, not all CIDs have it yet.

Hi.
I have a One X that I have rooted and I am testing ICS rom's, but none give me what I want.
I want to try the JB rom's, and my phone support this.
But if I upgrade to hboot 1.23 will I be able to go back to stock JB and lock the bootloader when the JB RUU is released? This for selling the phone with stock software.

You might not be able to flash it directly(version check, im guessing) but you can still flash its contents, and yes you can always RELOCK your bootloader.

Hi.
Not directly? How will this mean in practice? What would I need to do?

Probably have to extract the rom.zip from the ruu, but I cant see why the ruu wouldn't just flash considering the hboot inside the ruu is just gonna be the same as the one you've flashed... But I could be wrong, I never use ruus anyway.

I got my One X when they first came out, rooted it straight away and have been very happy. I'm running a JB AOKP ROM.
I've noticed a lot of talk about hboot versions, 1.23/1.28. My hboot is still 0.43. Am I missing anything? Does updating the hboot actually matter?
Thanks for any information

I have almost the same question : I would like to install the "Android Revolution HD 11.1" ROM and spent few days parsing the various post in the corresponding section of the forum.
The installation procedure states that to go to JB we need to have HBOOT v1.23. In addition it is indicated that :
{Do the following only if you have hboot version 0.43.
Download this ROM. You need to flash this RUU after you relock but before you flash firmware. Your hboot version will say 1.12}

Now my question :
My HOX indicates HBOOT v1.12 without any upgrade, do I need to upgrade it or not ?
Thanks in advance for your help

If you have 1.12, there is no need to upgrade to 1.12 before upgrading to 1.28.
To upgrade to 1.28, keep following the instructions.

Yes you do. But first check if you have the right CID.

Thanks Marc199 and BenPope for you help and QUICK answers !!! :good:
Also, make sure you really do want to upgrade to 1.28 because without S-OFF you can't go back to an hboot with a lower version number.

Thanks for the warning. BTW, how do you check whether if your are S-ON or S-OFF ?
I have been able to define my HBOOT version and my CID but this info...
Is there any thread summarizing hot to get all details about the HOX ?
Thanks again.
At the top of the bootloader it says either S-OFF or S-ON
why ?
Hi,

Yes(for both questions) and if anything goes wrong you can EASILY revert with a backup from your custom recovery (and flashing your old boot.img)
ok

So the hboot version only affects sense roms?
ifsow what does hboot represend ?
because i dont get why would it be good for sense roms but not for non sense roms on the same device.
they have to update or fix some things in those different version right ?
at the start of last year a fix whas published for the bad battery life.
The fix whas supposed to add 10 to 20 % to battery life.
just now i saw a post from somebody asking how to do this fix and they told him it whas fixed in version 1.28 / 1.29
it whas not clear to me if they where refering to hboot version but i think they did.
i'm pretty confused about this, could you help me clarrify a bit ?
Hi, I am going to sell my HTC One X soon, so I'd like to restore it to stock - or as close to stock as possible.
I have the new HBOOT (1.28) from those Jelly Bean leaks, so apparently I can't flash a RUU.
Is there a way to return to stock Android from HTC - or at least the stock version of a Jelly Bean leak?

No, it hasn't been released yet.
If you took a backup before flashing a custom ROM, you can restore that, its boot.img and recovery.
There is also a thread on how to use an RUU with an older hboot to extract the useful bits and flash them manually.
What? But then how were all those JB ROMs made? Can you at least point me to the one that's closest to stock, then?

I thought by untouched you meant signed. There is no signed version (well, unless an Elevate member leaked it since I last checked).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1966371 use that guide there. It worked for me and I now have stock ICS
hello guys, I want to know if the risk brick by flashing the firmware.zip JB on my HOX with cid VODAP102: Vodafone UK
so the risk of bricking your hox is not really big if you follow the instrutions. if your CID is supported it just takes some commands in the terminal and youre ready to go! on wich hboot is your phone now and to wich version are you up to upgrade? is ist 1.31 or higher?
VODAP102 CID is not supported for JB update.
You could try ICJ, or some other AOSP ROM, but not the ones that are CID seensitive.
You'll get an error, cause it's not a valid CID.

I believe you can install it on any HOX (CID independent). Note that it's not Sense ROM, but AOSP. Go to Lord's thread and read more.
and if I try to install firmware.zip with OTG cable + java goldcard.
With the gold card is not verifying the signature, right?
java goldcard doesnt work with One X AFAIK

There are many threads and posts about it here.
There's no way around signature verification, so only thing you can do is be patient.
I want to know if is it possible to update my device which doesn't have JB update yet, with CID HTC__J15, to JellyBean without rooting my device or unlocking my bootloader using RUUs?
Is it possible for example to update my hboot and then download the leaked JB Europe RUU and install it on my HOX?
If your hboot isn't supported yet, you have to wait for the official update.

No your cid is not in the list of supported cids of that ruu. You can not install it !
In the 2.17 ruu your cid actually was supported in the RUU, but in the JB ruu your cid is not listed so you will end up with an error !
