First of all.. Sorry because my english is not so good..
Okay, well my question is.. I have a samsung galaxy s3 sprint of 16 Gb, It's already rooted, I have been using Cyanogenmod the nightlies last versions, but now I want to swap my sd card with my internal memory, I have already try it with Free GS3 the one of Clark44, it works! but i dont like the syle of the stock samsung galaxy . So did you know any good room were you can swap the memories, have a good style room and all that cool staff of rooms like DSP manager, etc? Thanks!

Hello Community. My dear wife is thinking about getting me the Nexus for my birthday. I am currently rocking the Revolution and generally speaking I love it!! But I miss the pure Android experience...
I have a couple of questions before buying and I hope this is the type of community that will take a couple of moments to answer them..
1. Will the android wi-fi tether work with this phone? (from here: http://code.google.com/p/android-wifi-tether/)
2. Any problems with not having an external SD card?
Ok, really those are my only real questions. I'd take any feed back about personal performance and negatives and positives. Specificially to the verizion CDMA version of the phone.
(I have started reading through the forums, but there are 101 pages and I can't read that fast, I am working on it.)
Thanks in advance and I look forward to participating in this very busy community
I haven't tested the tether but I actually like not having an SD card. It should be included but only using one storage source is handy and makes everything easier to maintain.
The LTE has 32gb. That's more then my 16gb SD I used to use... and more then enough. Tether works but I'm not sure about that specific one.
LTE EX Galaxy Nexus - CM9 AOKP
Asus Transformer - Revolver
1. Yes it will work, I have tried it out multiple times and have no problems connecting to multiple devices with 10+ Mb's.
2. Not really, as the other poster said it is kind of nice to not have to worry about it but coming from my old phone was kind of a pain being that I had to move everything to my computer then over to my Nexus but that is my only gripe.
You will love this phone.
1. It works for me as well.
2. I thought I would hate it but I actually like it. It is nice when my phone is plugged into my computer that my phone can still access what is stored on the "SD card" partition. It was always annoying on the Droid X to wait for it to get access to everything again or when someone called and my ringtones wouldn't play. After I do a nandroid backup, I copy it to my computer just in case I somehow wiped that partition.
My wife had the Revolution and I upgraded her to a Razr. 2 days ago she dropped the Razr in the toilet (we are hoping it will come back to life) and had to revert to using the Revo. She hates it! The Nexus would be a MASSIVE step up. You will not be disappointed!!
Android 4.0 has built in wifi tether that works perfectly. I have yet to have a problem with it.
32GB internal memory is fine. Not having a physical SD doesn't really matter cause 32 is more than enough.

Thanks Everyone for their input. Now to get my wife to get in the car and go over to VZW and get me that phone... ....after that...time to play with all the roms!!
Hi all, just a thought, since GN has mods for Kernel, ROM, Casing, covers .. etc has anyone encountered any hardware MOD for Samsung Galaxy Nexus ? like those you can open up the phone and simple removing some chip and replacing it with another e.g. storage from 16gb to 32gb.. internal RAM from 1gb to 3 gb .. etc like a PC..
p.s. after flashing ROMS/Kernels for a few months, thinking of trying something new
we wouldn't need to upgrade phone each year if the said things can be done easily
besides a phone is not a pc, and i'm pretty sure not everyone wanna mess their $700 device in such way
I bought a cable for USB sticks and use chainfires USB app. But sorry bud not sure you could pull out that sandisk chip and throw a bigger one in. Not yet at least

No it's not possible.
Even if you did manage to open it, the chips would still be soldered to the MB.

These phones are not meant to be generally user-serviceable (and especially not user-upgradeable).
Use the phone how it is and you'll be happy. When its outdated, sell it and buy a new model that suits your needs.
Samsung is launching Galaxy S2 Plus with few hardware changes but many software features like
1. Jellybean 4.1.2
1. Smart Stay
2. Direct Call
3. Pop up Video
4. Smart Alert
5. S Voice
6. Voice Unlock
7. 64 GB SDCard Support
Once this is launched hope this would help devs in porting these features to our S2.
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-57...ls-galaxy-s2-plus-with-a-shot-of-android-4.1/
1. We already has 4.1.2 unofficially and we're getting 4.1.2 officially sometime this year.
2. You can mimic smart stay with Smartstay EX
3 & 4. You might be able to do this when we get our official 4.1.2 update as it's based on touchwiz UX
5. Apk is already modified for other phones and Google Now does it better.
6. This might be in touchwiz UX when we get it
7. We can already do this however we have no exfat support so you have to use fat32(no files over 4GB) or a linux file system like ext4.
I think this is an international version and won't help us at all. The 1.2 processor they talk about is the exynos.

Bull**** in this article.
That the S2 plus handles 64GB SD card alone (..."while the original maxed out at 32GB")...Hello!
I have a 64GB SD card and it works pretty darn well.
I hope pple want to do some homework before you make statements like that.
(I wonder how much they got paid to make a statement like that?)
LOL

to be fair to him the original WAS slated for only 2.3 GB. this turned out to be an android limit, not a hardware one, and with updates has come additional support.
before u knock others, please check facts as well good sir
They can keep it at there factory.. developments can acquire almost the same features released..with t989

I am not a programmer or dev, but it seems that O4XHD community is bigger than ours. They just managed to improve their ROM with Optimus G and G Pro goodies.
How to put this keyboard an DSP manager to our devices?
http://bbs.angeeks.com/thread-2994742-1-2.html
It is popular but we already have those features custom ROMS have DSP Manager or any other one you like. Sony, Beats, Acid... You can find them here on XDA in the general sections. Just have to unlock and install a recovery to flash those... You can find in the OG support threads how to do the above on stock.
And it doesn't really matter because the LG OG will always perform better.

leaving that aside , look at lg optimus g at&t community. they have so greater stuff than us , look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2099784
i'm very curious , can someone from our section try to make that awesome mod work with our phone ?

you can use only 8 gb. and after a "fix" you can use 16 now , on optimus g with 16 gb. that fix might work for 32 gb too.
- and risky .. yes .. it is. but it's also awesome.
- making the camera work will be the real challenge.

That thread you pointed already belongs to the Optimus G, so there's no fix for 32gb.
I don't think it's worth it to be honest, with more roms coming natively to our device, and Official ones also ( CM, PAC ).

But why would you want that? You can install CM 10.2 and you will get pure AOSP experience, also there are few kernels for it.

here is a fix from 8 to 16 gb. i belive that it can work with 32 gb too , maybe with some modifications .
i mean yes .. it's a lot of work to do. the mod works with our device , confirmed by a dev from their section .. but the camera won't work / nfc either and we will get 16 gb user space for now.
if someone is willing to work with the camera and space to 32 gb and maybe nfc.. it would be great. if not.. it's fine either. i just found something interesting and presented to you.

You really think the Bluetooth bug would go away because you converted? If it was that easy they would just use the Bluetooth files. If you were to convert, I bet you would run into more problems than you would solve. Not to rain on your parade but you will need to wait for someone of our devs to fix this bug.

I think Verizon only has a 32 GB Galaxy Nexus. All Verizon Galaxy Nexus are known as "toro".
GSM Galaxy Nexus have 16 GB of space. GSM Galaxy Nexus are known as "tuna".
ICS is pretty dated. 4.1 or 4.3 would be your best bet for stability. KitKat is still pretty new in the scene but people have said that its quite stable by now.
To root, you first need to:
1. Install Fastboot/ADB drivers for your phone. http://download.clockworkmod.com/test/UniversalAdbDriverSetup6.msi
2. Set up Fastboot/ADB
3. Unlock your bootloader.
4. Flash a custom recovery (CWM/TWRP)
5. Flash SuperSU install zip to root.
To install a ROM, you need to do the above steps but flash your ROM+GApps instead of SuperSU.
im gsm gnex user.. running kitkat rom.. the battery n stability right now was superb..
just need to know how to control apps n ram. u'll got a good performances.
screen shot attached.
sorry for my bad english

toro or tuna? or... dunno?
im just in hopes that it is not some bastard version that never got any mod and development push from xda and stuff.. like i said totally green on these... mostly been rooting moto droid stuff.. and thats so locked down its not even fair... awell... part of the fun is figuring all this stuff out.... cant be as bad as the droidx2 was...
I am running cMetal 4.4 ROM and it is blazing fast and very stable for me. I have had 0 issues with it so far. My battery life also is much better than all other 4.3 roms I ran. Here's the link to cMetal if you decide to give it a try: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2532320
I've been using this phone for over 2 years now and I am still completely satisfied. We have a great development community and I think you made a great choice for rooting/dev experimentation. As far as battery life goes, it will be pretty good since you are using wifi only. Switching from 3g/4g is what really destroys my battery life.

I wouldn't trust a manufacturer's site for specs especially for the Galaxy Nexus. We had totally contradictory specs for storage size right up till the official launch lol.
Anyway, no harm powering down your phone, Vol Up+Vol Down+Power (Fastboot) and take a picture of your phone at the Fastboot screen.
