So I got 4.1 running on my Gnex (EaglesBlood) and it has been working just fine as long as I remember. Now all of the sudden I'm not able to call my girlfriend anymore, she can call me and I can text her. We also tried switching phones and with my sim card in her phone I was able to call her and with her sim card in my Gnex she was able to call me.
So it doesn't look like its the sim cards or my carriers fault, but it still doesn't make any sense why my gnex refuses to dial just one number, all other work fine, it's just that one number that I cant call, it just starts to beep rapidly.
So far I tried the following:
Calling the same number from another phone with my sim [WORKS]
Deleting all contact info to that number [DIDN'T HELP]
Downloaded another dialer from play store [DIDN'T HELP]
Removed battery and restarted phone [DIDN'T HELP]
Clearing app data for Phone.apk [DIDN'T HELP]
I don't want to reflash the ROM since it's so outdated and I'm just waiting for a more stable release of PA, but there has to be something that can be done, it's just stupid that there is that one number that I can't call and it happens to be the most used one too
Hmmm, are you sure your number is not blocked in her phone by mistake? I am just guessing that this is the case so whenever you call, her phone rejects your number.
I'll have to find out about that, why the hell didn't I think of that, always just assumed that the problem was on my end.

When I update my voicemail settings, or call forwarding, I get a "Unexpected response fron network" error message. I called my provider (Rogers) and said it appears to be correct on their system... However, it doesn't seem so because when people call me, they get forwarded to Google Voice... I already uninstalled Google Voice, and it was taken out already, however, it still forwards to there which is a USA number and I'm in Canada, so people who call me get forwarded to a long distance number and it bothers me and them so much...
Rogers told me to contact HTC but I want to hear your solutions first guys... BTW, I'm using the Virtuous ROM (which is almost entirely stock packages)
Help?

did you use the star codes to disable call forwarding?
What are the star code? Already forgot them... heh

I was getting the same error and this worked for my desire on orange:-

"Try sending ##21# which is the network code to cancel all forwarding."
Call Forwarding Problem
I have an unlocked AT&T Atrix on Orange UK running Gingerbread. As soon as you go and look at the Call Forwarding options the phone indicates that all calls are Forwarded and the Icon top left turns on, disabling 'Foward All' shows disabled for a few seconds then comes back with the 'Unexpected reponse from network' message, although calls are not actually Forwarded (can still receive calls). Old SIM card, but OK in old V3x phone. I tried with a '3' Network SIM and all works as expected, so definitely an Orange problem with Android/Atrix. I called Orange who sent some SIM updates one of which failed, called them again and they decided to send me a new SIM but this has made no difference at all.
Only way to reset the indicator and message once on, is to enter ##21# which does the job.
Just an annoying Network bug but interested if anyone knows how to get Orange (and I guess T-Mobile) to do anything about this as it seems from other research to affect several different phone makes and models.
Same issue
I'm Having the same issue on Rogers with my Xperia ion....still ahven't sorted it out
Any Resolution to this issue? I have what appears to be an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 Active from ATT and attempting to use my CRICKET SIM and I get this message.
Hey everybody
So I've had my DHD on Vodafone since November. Since that time I've been having a recurring problem making out going calls as well as forwarding text messages and occasionally receiving calls.
Making Outgoing Calls: Whenever I try to make an outgoing call the phone will bleep and say 'Call ended'.. It does this alot at first it was across the board but tonight I seem to be able to call everyone apart from the person I actually need to call (typical).
Forwarding texts: I dont seem to be able to forward texts at all.. They get sent from my phone and it shows up as being sent but they are never received.
Receiving Calls: Less of a problem however every now and then people will try to call me and wont be able to get through.. Also sometimes the phone will cut out in the middle of calls.
Has anyone experienced problems like this before and if so what are the solutions??
I have tried switching the network settings and my wi fi is off and nothing has worked. I have also taken the phone apart and cleaned all of the contacts..
Phone already restored??
Sim Card tested in another phone, whether the card is OK??
Ask the provider to send you the right net configuration via sms??
only some ideas you can try....

I've received a voicemail (I have the reel-to-reel tape icon). If I do anything in an attempt to listen to the voicemail (including dialling 901 as suggested) then my phone attempts to make a call, which ends about one second later, then the display locks and I have to enter my PIN number again.
I'm happy just to turn Voicemail off, as it has stopped working, but I suspect this will involve dialling 901, and then I'm back to square 1.
Any suggestions, or do I just wait for the voicemail to expire?
I liked this phone for the first three weeks, but now, with the "Low memory" problem and now this, I've passed into the "hopefully someone will steal it" phase...
I suspect it that your wfs can't read the settings from the sim to find out the voicemail/anwser phone. Haven't tested it, will report back if I have a problem.

That was it. GiffGaff uses 443 (GIF) instead of 901.
Their help said to enter *61*443# but that didn't seem to do anything. Voicemail still said 901.
So I went into the settings and changed the Voicemail number to 443. It still said 901.
So I rebooted the phone. Now it says 443 and Voicemail works.
I'm left wondering which of my two actions fixed the problem, and if it WASN'T *61*443# then I wonder what that did?
voicemail is in your service provider in sim, not included in phone only emails are compatible with wildfire s. just tell them to email you than this voicemail.
In the past two days it seems my phone has been acting up. I can give you some information about it. I hope this is enough.
Phone - Epic 4g
Firmware Version - 2.3.5
Baseband Version - S: D700.0.5S.EI22
Kernel Version - 2.6.35.7-CleanGB-MTD-gb805fd3
Build Number - CleanGB-MTD-1.0.5
Hardware Version - D700.0.5
The phone has not been ringing. When I say has not been ringing I mean I am not receiving calls. This could be due to two reasons. 1. The person is either hanging up before the 5th ring(this seems to be the magic number for my phone to actually ring according to some self tests performed today). 2. My Google Voice is picking up before the 5th ring and the people are hanging up. Now I am also not receiving notifications of missed calls. My wife has ranted at me the last two days about not picking up her calls to which I reply I had no clue that there were calls to where I show her my call log and the lack of her calls. I have called Sprint and went through about 20 minutes of back and forth and a reset a couple of times then a punch in of a ## 6 digit number # and did a MSID input. The Sprint tech said that the phone was ringing on his end and when I picked up said it took a while but he did a few things and then it seemed to have sped up on his end. Now after hanging up with him proceeded to call my phone from the wifes and it still takes 5 rings for it to pick up. Is there anything I could do to fix this. Is this an issue on CleanGB. Thanks for the replies. Let me know if you need anymore information from me.
im just taking a stab here but I think I remember reading this is a GV problem and had something to do with GV settings . Like I said not sure but you might wanna start there.
That is what the Sprint guy started off saying. How would I go about fixing that? Do I need to uninstall Google Voice? Sign out of Google Voice? or what I am willing to try anything right now.
I don't use Google voice, but if it's easy enough to uninstall & install I'd try removing it and see if problem persists. At the least you can tell if it is the problem or not

Uninstalled
I have basically restored my phone back to factory. I am on EL30 now. I uninstalled google voice that way. I also went to google voice on the web and fixed my voicemail on there. My phone still wants to ring 5 times before it shows me I have a call coming through, however I also do not have any voicemail at all now. After about the 8th ring it gives me a This caller is unavailable message followed in spanish then an error 261 message. Gonna call sprint again in the AM and see if they can reset something for me.
VM app try phonefusion its what i have been using and it works great i didnt really like google voice i just need voicemail i dont need something thats going to record my calls and text messages
as far as your phone ringing i had this problem a while back and i think it had to do with a cell tower not sending the call out right or something like that anyway ask tech support how the towers are responding in your area
Thanks
I will ask them about the towers today when I call. I have to call them now I have no voicemail at all. The sprint voicemail isnt picking up anymore.
On my wife's GSM Galaxy Nexus, running JB 4.1.1, all incoming calls are getting forwarded directly to voicemail. I've tried quite a few things to remedy the issue, but to no avail. Here are some of the relevant details.
Phone worked fine for at least a week after the JB update.
She can place calls without any problem.
She can receive email and browse the web without issue, both on WiFi and on 3G/H.
I can forward her phone to our home number and the forwarding works perfectly.
We use Google Voice for our voicemail service. When I try to reset voicemail settings to our cellular carrier (AT&T), the phone does NOT seem to reset the voicemail numbers (they still appear as her Google Voice number). However, when I do remove Google Voice and then call the phone, I get a message that her voicemail is not set up. Which makes sense: we've never set up AT&T voicemail.
I've done a factory reset: calls still go straight to voicemail. And the voicemail number after a factory reset is STILL her Google Voice number.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Did you port the # to Google voice? I that would explain the settings sticking after reset.. It sounds like a GV issue and not a phone issue

No, we did not. I'd agree with you that it's a Google Voice issue...except everything was working fine up until one or two days ago. Calls both in and out worked without issue, as did voicemail.
Very strange. I'm going to contact AT&T to get their take on things.
AT&T seem to think its a bad SIM card. I'm going to pick up a new one tomorrow.
last time this happened my girlfriend somehow added me to the auto reject list lol

I'm not sure if you said calling to google voice number wouldn't work or calling the mobile number...
If it's the mobile, its not a gvoice issue..
I really would not think that a sim card would cause the problem itselt, but it might reset your forwarding options... I dont know.. you can try this if it doesn't work...
dial #002#
this will reset ALL of your call forwarding options just in case something is wrong / corrupt there... after you verify that calls to the number work, then you can setup the conditional call forwarding..

Great idea. I thought something similar, but when I try to enter any call forwarding codes (like the one above), I get "Call forwarding connection problem or invalid MMI code." Again, this leads me to think that perhaps the sim card really is the problem. If not, it's an AT&T network setup issue.
I'll post again later today with whatever progress I've made. Thanks for trying to help!
Picked up a new sim card, and it completely resolved the problem. Strange, but whatever. As long as the wife's phone is working, all is well!
