Track/Trace Google Server Number - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey Everyone,
I know a lot of you have the issue with Google voice not showing the correct number. However my request is slightly different. I live in Nova Scotia. and set up google voice while in the states last month. I used it quite a bit while I was down there. Since being home I have attempted to use it, and it does connect find, have my local number verified and everything. When I got my bill last month the numbers were all routed via a toronto number. So i have added that to my "Fav10"
Do you know if there is any app/way to have the number that google voice connects to "show" on my phone? It appears that some Dialers do show this number however mine currently doesn't.
I just want to be able to see this so I can ensure I don't get any long distance charges when I use google voice
Any suggestions you may have would be great.
Thanks

[APP] groove ip google VOIP with sprint number!!

Hey guys I’ve been looking for a good VoIP caller for my phone that uses my sprint number for a while now, and I finally found one and I would like to share it with everyone
It’s called groove ip
click up ^^ here for the market link
It is a paid app, I found it on the market and I believe it wasn’t any more than 5 dollars.
set up:
I integrated Google voice on my account keeping my sprint number
I then downloaded Google voice on my phone and set it all up.
Then I downloaded groove ip and signed in.
you have options on when to use groove ip.
i have it auto start and set to ask when placing a call.
there is no battery drain when on standby.
obviously it uses some battery when placing or receiving calls
ive used it for a few days now, and i love it.
texts also work with the google voice app
Now you can use my phone even if you don’t have service as long as there is wifi !!
Yeah I like , since it allows you to use either your google voice or sprint number
I use my google choice to hand out to people to save my incoming minutes, and telemarketers lol
Ive had Groove Ip for a while and works great. I just switched back to Sprint but when i tried integrating my sprint number with google voice text messages would only go to the GV app and not directly to the phone. Or in some cases it would go to both, Calling worked fine.

You can change that setting in google voice settings from your browser. Log into google voice, click the gear in the top right corner, click voice settings. Then you just need to check the box under your GV integrated number that says "Receive text messages on this phone"
I like my google number better then my sprint number. I was able to get a local number; xxx-xxx-name, name being my first name.
Thumbs up for GrooveIP, been using it for a while.
Groove IP totally disappeared from Market w/my new$5!
Groove IP totally disappeared from the face of the Earth today(Android Market). I just paid $4.99 for the App two days ago and there gone. I know there not a fly by night app cause I have been hearing good things bout since my WinMo days. Is this want they do when they're updating the App? Is this normal or has me and many other been hood-winked??

Problems with google voice on CM7 Droid Incredible

My gf's phone has been having some issues with google voice for awhile now. She's always wanted the stock incredible VVM back, but no one's ever been able to find it on other forums. If anyone has the stock VVM for the phone, I think she would like that better.
If not...
Her issue is that whenever someone calls her phone it always has different responses. Some people call and say the number is unavailable, others say it asks for her subscriber number. I've called three times now and i've had those two errors along with one that actually got through. The problem is that she isn't receiving all her calls, which anyone on this forum can attest that this is a MAJOR issue, especially while she hunts for jobs. If ANYONE can figure out a solution to this problem it would be awesome. I've searched the web for weeks trying to find a solution or even an alternate VVM, but I haven't had any luck.
I just need to figure out one of the following:
- how to get back stock Incredible VVM
- how to fix or permanently get rid of google voice
- find an alternative VVM that works decently and can get past this google voice issue.
Any help would be appreciated...
Phone is Verizon Droid Incredible running CM7 version 7.0.3-inc
What are her Google Voice settings set to? Open GV and navigate to: Menu/More/Making Calls? This setting should be set to "Do not use GV to make calls." I've been using it for about a year and across different roms with absolutely no problem, so this is a surprise to me.
To remove Google Voice (no don't do it, stop...aight I'm done):
If you want to remove GV, sign into her Google account from a computer, along the black Google title bar click on "More" then select GV from the list of Google services. Now, click the gear icon below your account name and there is a "deactivate Google Voicemail on this phone" link in blue. Once you deactivate Google Voice, your Verizon voicemail should be working. I haven't personally done this, cuz I actively use GV. I believe your Verizon voicemail is *86 if you want to access it over the phone. If you want, call Verizon to ensure the second phone (the GV account) number is disconnected from the account as well. Last step requires you to call and test her voicemail to make sure they come through.
P.s. Doesn't every rom include Voicemail Settings under Settings/Call? Does changing your settings there fail as well?

thanks that got rid of it. i also found how to set it back to the carrier voicemail like you said. i like google voice, but that problem not being able to receive calls 50% of the time just kills the functionality of a phone almost. i wish i knew the deeper problem of it so i could make it fully functional. thanks though, this fix will work for now.
Not a problem, sucks that you had that issue arise. Glad I could help.

[Q] Good texting app?

Are there any good SMS/texting apps for kindle fire/android that DON'T require the use of a cell number? I've only found one so far called Text+ in the kindle store. It works by assigning your account with a random phone number. Works pretty good for sending/receiving plain text from cell phones. But it doesn't allow you to choose what area code your number comes from, and it doesn't handle pics/video very well at all.
My KF is rooted now and about to have the google apps installed, so I was just wondering if there was a good app out there that doesn't require using your cellphone number.
Google Voice can do this for you. You will probably need to give Google Voice a phone or cell number to begin with, but you can remove that number after you are done setting it up. All of your texts will be coming from a phone number, but it will be the new Google Voice number that you sign up for. I always text from my computer or tablet using Google Voice.

Nice thx, I'll check it out!
Text+ should let you change your area code just fine. Just use your one free number change.

I've been using Evernote. It let's you read your notes from any device and uses Google voice, but I haven't tried that yet. More than I need but seems to work ok so far.

GOOGLE voice indirectly charges your phone number per text if you have a limited text plan such as 200 texts per month on your cell plan. Each google text counts as one because it runs it through your data plan on your cell phone, provided that's the number you used.

So what does it do if you don't use a cell number to set it up with? Just not allow the text?

Need suggestions for new number that allows you to text

Hey guys... I am currently using Google Voice and love it, however, I have ran into a problem. I use my current GV number for a small business I operate out of my home, and am getting ready to start another small business and need both GV #'s to forward to my nexus. Google doesn't allow this apparently, so I was curious if you guys know of any other apps out there that will allow you to sign up for a new number, and that the app will allow you to make/receive calls through that number... I wish google would make this a paid feature.
thank for any and all help.

[Q] using Google Voice phone number without Sprint service

Hi!
I just got a new S3. I'm on Sprint but don't want to activate the phone until Jan. My current phone is fine. I have good wifi and have been really enjoying everything this guy can do. I have two Google Voice numbers from the start of Grand Central. Is there anyway I can make a wifi call via my Google voice numbers?
I DLed the Google voice app, but since i guess it knows this is a Sprint phone, it wants to mind meld the numbers. It won't let me complete the set-up.
I realize this may be a recent development with Google/Sprint.
Any thoughts, or workarounds?
Thanks
Max
I'll answer my own question incase someone else may want to do this. I Used this:
Can't include the URL but its on Google Play
Groove IP
Installed it, entered my GV user/pass and it worked!!!
Sipdroid works too
