Most likely the application won't run unless the Amazon App store is installed. Applications that originate from Amazon's app store tie in with their DRM.

There's no "most likely" about it, it WON'T run without having the AAS installed. As for the previous poster, you REALLY don't already have an amazon account?!

You give google access to every facet of your life including everything personal and private to you but you refuse amazon for sending targeted ads that only access your browsing/buying habits on their website? Hahahahahahahaha
Wake up. I trust amazon more than I do google (well I trust ANYTHING more than I do google actually), and even more than Apple. Amazon is a straight and clear-cut business with no aspirations about your personal/private info. Google does not differentiate between the two. It's all fair game with them.
Amazon as I know it, is a truly ethical, worthy company to invest in. They have earned my trust and money and a spot in my email inbox.

I've had Amazon App Store on my phone for 2 weeks now and haven't received any spam as a result of that yet. I check it most everyday and was sooooooo happy to see the free app today.

Yeah I guess you are right, haha. About google
HD ver too
Grab the HD version too in case you ever get a tablet. It will tell you it's not compatible with your device but you can click through that popup just fine. I show as owning both versions in my app list now. (Did this from a PC browser)

So Polaris vs Quick Office? I already have Polaris, any real reason to get Quick Office?

Then don't bother with Quick Office. I now have both since they were both free. Wanted to compare the two. Polaris is a far better program. Deleted Quick Office now since I don't need it wasting space.
thanks for info
There was officesuite pro for free a few weeks back. That one couldn't search all sheets in a workbook so I uninstalled it....need that feature for work.

Hey guys, I recently came up with an idea for a new app I will call "Socialize" and I wanted some feedback on it. I am currently working on it and will have a preview of my progress up within a few weeks. It won't have that many features, as my first priority is Twitter support, and the first preview will probably only have the ability to login and post a tweet.
What is Socialize?
Socialize is a new way to manage all your social 'stuff' from one place. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google+ will be the first supported networks. Chat support will probably be added in later.
Isn't there already and app that does the same thing/has the same name?
No. I spent about an hour a week ago searching for such an app and didn't find one. There is also no app with the name "Socialize."
So yeah guys, leave your thoughts below, if you have any recommendations, leave a reply! No stealing my idea either.
I really like the title. Doesn't Seesmic do this though?

Seesmic only supports Facebook and Twitter. I plan on supporting all the social networks that have an available API. And thanks, took me hours to think of such a simple name
Cool idea. It would be nice to have an all in one app for that. I hope you plan to support Google+?

What was that one that Ryan from dunder mifflin paper made? But yea your going to have an issue with permissions unless you have a very big budget.
take it from me. I own an LLC and are creating a cross platform music centric (but dont think were just a music player) app.
My costs are withing the 500 to 700 thousand dollar ballpark. I would estimate around 1/4th of what im paying unless you plan to develop market anf publish yourself.

Not everyone has a Samsung you know. This is for every phone, and tablet, not just ours. Plus this will look better than that piece of crap bloatware.

Just now starting Neil degrasse Tyson's Space Chronicles.

Well, I finished an audiobook called Ready Player One, by Ernest Kline (i think).
Read by Will Wheaton even.
Grea book, lots of fun
Check out "Wool" in the Kindle store, series of 5 novellas that are pretty intense.
Game of thrones had been the best series I've read in a long while. Terry pratchett takes up a huge section of my bookcase.

Thanks for the suggestion. Just downloaded the series and will post thoughts later.
I read Anthony Bourdain's Kitchen Confidential as it was on sale at the Play store and I am pretty interested in cooking. Really good book, definitely recommend it if you are interested in cooking or the restaurant business in general.
Bought the Hunger Games trilogy for my wife and currently reading it now because I was curious' I'm on Catching fire right now. They are okay so far.

My first response is always Sherlock Holmes for mystery, Hound of the Baskervilles is one of the best and should be free on Google Play.
Let me stew on this for a bit, but I have heard some great things about the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo trilogy.
Edit- More horror than thriller, but I loved Horns and Heart Shaped Box, both by the amazing Joe Hill.
All of the circle series books by Ted Dekker are great. He also has another series that falls in with the circle series called The Lost Books. There's 6 of those.

Lol. Well, it's difficult without knowing what you like. Have you read The Hunger Games? That's a nice fast read, pretty exciting too.
Nexus 7 Used Guide is a good one for you guys to read . Jkjkjkjk
I read way too much, although some books are just that good. Anyway I don't know how old you are or what genre exactly your looking for but mystery/ thriller. Actually tell me what your looking for and in that genre do you care/like if its gory. If your looking for ya books I can recommended some. I read most genres except romance and hardcore SciFi. I'll think of some good authors. Right now its been top ten for a few months is gone girl by gillian Flynn, but her other books imo are much better like dark places . Another decent thriller that's been pretty popular lately is cj Lyons books the FBI thrillers.

Try kindle. Works very well and there are often offers. I've just read on exsellent book by Ken Follit 'Eye of a needle' which I found on the kindle store for 20p (UK). These offers tend to be 'one-offs' and disappear very soon after they appear. Search 'mostpopular'
Definitely a +1 for the Game of Thrones series (I'm halfway through the third book and it's just getting progressively better). I also strongly recommend the Hunger Games books and the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (as previously mentioned). If you like crime fiction then James Patterson's 'Alex Cross' series is a good, light, read.

I can't believe Google has evolved so much in a relatively short time and taken up such a huge portion of my life! They have always been one of my favorite companies, and now they may be at the top. I've used their search engine as long as I can remember, of course it's my fave. They give me a free minimalist browser that even my ****ty old HP laptop can run. I bought a Google phone and fell in love with Google's mobile OS, that's free too. Then Google thinks, hey, lets automate search.. And they give me Google Now! Baked in is the best damn mobile voice recognition system I've ever used. I cant believe Google was able to pretty much master the art of talking to a phone, I seriously ask my phone several questions a day, and do it around people with confidence that my phone will understand me and speak back relevant information. It does. Throw in all the different "cloud" storage options they have for free: gmail, contacts, voice, g+ instant upload, drive, etc.. I love Google. I'll never have to enter my contact numbers in a phone again. I have to pause, smile and reflect on that for a second. Or how about freaking satellite pictures of the earth wherever you want, or 360 views from the street. All free again.
Google isn't perfect, sometimes they make me throw my hands up wondering wtf they are thinking, he'll sometimes I complain about it to other XDA members thinking the same things. I know Google makes good money off us (and businesses) through its services.. But from the consumers standpoint, Google offers an almost infinite plethora of options for FREE DOLLARS. And since Google is moving towards all those services being much more tightly integrated, I can't wait to see what they have in store for the future!
... has made my personal information so useful for everyday life!

Hello people
I was looking for an anti-theft app and did some research and found out that Cerburus is a pretty decent app. Is it worth buying..??
I have installed it and will try the features provided by it. but are there any other app which provide similar feature and is free...??
I know i should just go ahead and buy it but its like 2.99$ which is 200 bucks in my currency. So just wanted to get a clear picture before buying
Thanks
I bought it awhile ago and I think it has been pretty useful. There are some apps that will do some of what it will for free though.

I paid for Cerberus more than a year ago and I love it. It's genius.
Just got my Nexus 4 back, JUST because i had a number and simcard-id, which cerberus sent me after i was drunk enough to lose it/forget it.
400€ more or less is a big difference, so i'll say cerberus is worth every cent.
Can anyone tell me what it does better than a free one like lookout?

Personally, I think it's better (for me) than Lookout because I don't yet believe in anti-virus software for mobile devices. Any of them. It will be needed eventually, probably, but right now, to me it's just wasted CPU cycles and wasted memory blocks.
Cerberus is just what I need. And it does it well. Installed it for the rest of my family too! All paid for. And I'd pay again!
