Cerberus...Is it worth buying - Nexus 4 Themes and Apps

Hello people
I was looking for an anti-theft app and did some research and found out that Cerburus is a pretty decent app. Is it worth buying..??
I have installed it and will try the features provided by it. but are there any other app which provide similar feature and is free...??
I know i should just go ahead and buy it but its like 2.99$ which is 200 bucks in my currency. So just wanted to get a clear picture before buying
Thanks

I bought it awhile ago and I think it has been pretty useful. There are some apps that will do some of what it will for free though.

Yes it's worth buying I tried the free trial and very much impressed and paid for it and very happy with it one of the best apps I paid completely worth

Fortunately never had the need to use it, but yeah it´s worth buying, have 4 devices in my account for example so it comes cheap if/when needed better safe than sorrow

i think its worth it, i bought it, wont know how well it works til i lose my phone, soooooo yea.
It can do some great stuff. itll come in handy

I have it and think it has some great features if needed...

It's Best anti-theft that I know
I do not regret every dollar I paid for it

I paid for Cerberus more than a year ago and I love it. It's genius.

Just got my Nexus 4 back, JUST because i had a number and simcard-id, which cerberus sent me after i was drunk enough to lose it/forget it.
400€ more or less is a big difference, so i'll say cerberus is worth every cent.

Can anyone tell me what it does better than a free one like lookout?

Best app

I got it free from "appgratis" promotion offer...

I bought it long time ago and for me, the best app! Lot of function and work very well.

have to try it. I often get lost phone ;/

Personally, I think it's better (for me) than Lookout because I don't yet believe in anti-virus software for mobile devices. Any of them. It will be needed eventually, probably, but right now, to me it's just wasted CPU cycles and wasted memory blocks.
Cerberus is just what I need. And it does it well. Installed it for the rest of my family too! All paid for. And I'd pay again!

Demos, just not labled as such.
One of the top phones on the market.
Super fast. Also, I think its slimmer than the other GS 2s.

You own an HTC phone. Simple answer, a Motorola v60 is a better device. Buy this phone. I refuse to even look and see what else is coming out anymore. I'm that satisfied with it and I buy new phones every 2-3 months. I got this right around release time and haven't looked back.

Cerberus - Is it worth it?

Right now, I have two phones, and tablet. I have yet to use the free 25 dollars given to use by Google, and I was wondering if the app was worth the license.
Hell yes. It's like $5 lol
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium HD app
I got it when they had a free sale, I would've happily paid $10 for it, I never worry about my device being lost because of the features in cerberus
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I dunno. It monitors cookies and browsing habits and system logs. Screw that.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
In my opinion, this is probably the single most important android app to install. Also, one license for work for 5 devices. It's absolutely worth the asking price, and much more.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Imo it's absolutely worth it, and it's really a steal at like $2.50 or whatever it comes out to. Yes the permissions and access the app (and therefore the developer) has can be a bit concerning, but from everything I've seen so far it's nothing to worry about and I personally haven't had any issues whatsoever. The developer seems trustworthy and keeps the app updated, including for JB devices. Honestly you'd have to be pretty paranoid to refuse to install such an essential app onto your valuable devices for this type of reason, and if my phone or Nexus gets stolen I'll have the peace of mind knowing the app is installed and ready to do whatever needs to be done to get it back and keep my information from being accessed.
Personally I think its a little overpriced, given the exchange rate. Maybe as and when they have a sale.
I thought the only way to pay for this was via PayPal? Anyway, I agree, this is now the second app I install on the phone / tablet after flashing. The first remains Tasker.

It's a must have app.
is it the one by LSDroid it is showing up free in the market?

No it doesn't. It asks for these permissions in order to be able to wipe them (without root) if need be.
I have Cerberus and I recommended it to everyone. I do believe that Cerberus does collect info and sell it. They are upfront about this and keep that info anonymous. Who cares if they see how much porn I watch?
Here it is. In the terms of use and privacy policy.
This video goes over the app with a tablet and phone.

You can pay for it with an in-app purchase now.
I recommended this app to a friend who had his phone stolen and he's been very happy with it. I haven't bought it myself, but I'm thinking I will very shortly as it's one thing to lose a phone, but another all together to lose my N7.
Avast Antivirus does more and is free... just saying

+1 for Avast
Avast = 4.7 rating = free
Cerberus = 4.6 rating = lunch
It is worth ... I think this is one of the most amazing app for Android. All those features. Great app!
So how good would Cerberus be on the N7 though? Seems like the power lies in it being able to accept SMS commands, right? Since the N7 isn't a phone, would it still be worth it, or am I not understanding how it works?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Good Q... I'm using it, but clearly only works if the N7 is connected to the thief's WiFi so not quite as powerful on a phone I guess..

i feel exactly the same way. Unfortunately i cannot uninstall it because the apps i got from amazon do a license check with amazon and will not work without it installed. Ugh

I was thinking the same thing!

You mean you're not into Wonder Witches? :cyclops:
I count on 1 "good" app per month from Amazon... and even at that hate getting it since they are always 1-3 updates behind. Actually got Xscope free, but bought on Play store to get newer version.
Lol thought it was just me, it used to be good now its freeking candyland junk
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Yeah I used some of the play credit to buy the printer app from play. I do miss plants vs zombies, but first world problems I know
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
It makes sense for them to feature those apps right now. Given the proximity to a kid-centric holiday and that their target demographic is Kindle Fire toting soccer moms, they're going to put apps like that front and center right now. Same can be expected for Christmas.

I dunno if the free apps differ by region, but here in the UK Jamie's 20 minute meals was free yesterday, Jelly defense before that (currently in play store for £2.45) and thumb keyboard was also free recently. It's still worthwhile checking everyday.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yup, it's mostly rubbish, but still worth checking; I find a few a month I want, here in the UK.
I think it needs to get slower and more non responsive when trying to install apps from your library! Then it won't matter what apps are free .

I was trying to be sarcastic. The app is terrible on my devices (Galaxy nexus and nexus 7). I have a hundred or so apps on the 'cloud' from Amazon. Browsing the list and trying to install them is like pulling teeth. It's slow and not responsive. Button presses offer no feedback and seem nonfunctional most of the time. Is it not like that for everyone else?

+1 laggiest apply in a long while.
Amazon free apps have been crappy. I still take a minute out of the day to check it just in case. Every once in a while, something good comes around. Audubon birds was a big score for me a few months ago.
I do wish you could "purchase" without having to download, even though install is optional, still uses space.
It's been laggy for me too, especially when trying to delete apps off the list. Accidentally discovered that feature a couple nights ago.

Have you ever tried it long enough to become familiar with it? I'm definitely not asking you that to attack you over your opinion or anything (because you're definitely entitled to your own opinion), I was just wondering because I effin love Next Launcher. I don't just like it because it looks really cool though (it's just an awesome bonus lol) because I could care less about showing off my phone, I actually like it because of all the added functionality it provides on top of giving you the ability to fine tune everything the way you like, and call me crazy but I honestly think it's even worth it for the original price.

Try "Mint", not sure if it has all those features but heard great things about that app.

Mint does have that, but it gives you a monthly budget.
Mint will look at your spending and tell you when you start to get close or go over those limits.
It also uses the same financial database that all the banks use, so its as safe to use as checking your bank website.
