Will there be a WP7 XDA app?
Sent from my SGH-T959 using XDA App
I heard its in the works
I hope so
The Android version of the XDA App is pretty good and so the WP7 version will probably be even better.
XDA app.
I too would love a xda app to call my own. Make it so xda. If you could follow Metro UI that would be better.
Yeah the Android app is okay, hopefully they make one that works and is stable

The WP7 version of the Tapatalk app is being developed here and should be on the marketplace soon
To provide a branded XDA version for free to the community, the cost is €999
Wonder if XDA management are considering this?
Bumping this app from the grave..
*After searching for this thread before posting my own*
Is there really anything regarding an app for XDA?
I feel like i cant do anything without that xda app on my phone and thats probably the only +1 android has over WP7 right now..
A lot of people seem to be using Board Express from Wp7 if I'm not mistaken, don't know what's happening in regards to a dedicated XDA app though
Metro based xda App would rule al

I don't really mind using internet explorer... All I did was pin a shortcut of the page (zoomed into the logo ) on my home screen.
any news on a xda wp7 app?
Just buy Board Express, IMO.
I'll prolly get it in a couple weeks after all these extra charges from getting and returning phones fall off my damn bill.

CC only.
Yeah Board Express Pro will definetely do it! But it's a bit laggy though!

Think that's an understatement... Taking 3 seconds just for the "Loading Forum" label to appear after I click the forum is ridiculous... With that being said, it's made a lot of improvements lately, and I've become a fan of it after despising it... I only see it getting better too, the developers seem very dedicated to a quality product.

No need to spend for it. It also has a free version. That's the one I use. Works perfectly fine for my minimal usage needs.

That's true, but it's too limited. If the free version allowed you to use all features with ONE forum, that would make sense, but I guess that would cut into their $999 fees for customization, right? I think that fee is a bit excessive considering TapaTalk is letting them use their forum plug-in to get the app to work (then again, maybe they're paying TapaTalk?).
The XDA App for Android is full featured, just limited to XDA-Developers' forum.

Microsoft's servers are handling Notifications from everywhere else, so I don't see how that would be an issue. I think just the Messenger by Miyowa probably puts more hurt to their servers than this app would due to how many notifications every user gets.
If they need better servers for notifications, buy it with the cash you make from the app.
And hire a dev to fix these performance issues...
Right now, I have two phones, and tablet. I have yet to use the free 25 dollars given to use by Google, and I was wondering if the app was worth the license.
Hell yes. It's like $5 lol

I got it when they had a free sale, I would've happily paid $10 for it, I never worry about my device being lost because of the features in cerberus
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I dunno. It monitors cookies and browsing habits and system logs. Screw that.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
In my opinion, this is probably the single most important android app to install. Also, one license for work for 5 devices. It's absolutely worth the asking price, and much more.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Imo it's absolutely worth it, and it's really a steal at like $2.50 or whatever it comes out to. Yes the permissions and access the app (and therefore the developer) has can be a bit concerning, but from everything I've seen so far it's nothing to worry about and I personally haven't had any issues whatsoever. The developer seems trustworthy and keeps the app updated, including for JB devices. Honestly you'd have to be pretty paranoid to refuse to install such an essential app onto your valuable devices for this type of reason, and if my phone or Nexus gets stolen I'll have the peace of mind knowing the app is installed and ready to do whatever needs to be done to get it back and keep my information from being accessed.
Personally I think its a little overpriced, given the exchange rate. Maybe as and when they have a sale.
I thought the only way to pay for this was via PayPal? Anyway, I agree, this is now the second app I install on the phone / tablet after flashing. The first remains Tasker.

No it doesn't. It asks for these permissions in order to be able to wipe them (without root) if need be.
I have Cerberus and I recommended it to everyone. I do believe that Cerberus does collect info and sell it. They are upfront about this and keep that info anonymous. Who cares if they see how much porn I watch?
Here it is. In the terms of use and privacy policy.
This video goes over the app with a tablet and phone.

I recommended this app to a friend who had his phone stolen and he's been very happy with it. I haven't bought it myself, but I'm thinking I will very shortly as it's one thing to lose a phone, but another all together to lose my N7.
Avast Antivirus does more and is free... just saying

+1 for Avast
Avast = 4.7 rating = free
Cerberus = 4.6 rating = lunch
It is worth ... I think this is one of the most amazing app for Android. All those features. Great app!
So how good would Cerberus be on the N7 though? Seems like the power lies in it being able to accept SMS commands, right? Since the N7 isn't a phone, would it still be worth it, or am I not understanding how it works?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Good Q... I'm using it, but clearly only works if the N7 is connected to the thief's WiFi so not quite as powerful on a phone I guess..

Hello people
I was looking for an anti-theft app and did some research and found out that Cerburus is a pretty decent app. Is it worth buying..??
I have installed it and will try the features provided by it. but are there any other app which provide similar feature and is free...??
I know i should just go ahead and buy it but its like 2.99$ which is 200 bucks in my currency. So just wanted to get a clear picture before buying
Thanks
I bought it awhile ago and I think it has been pretty useful. There are some apps that will do some of what it will for free though.

i think its worth it, i bought it, wont know how well it works til i lose my phone, soooooo yea.
It can do some great stuff. itll come in handy
I have it and think it has some great features if needed...

I paid for Cerberus more than a year ago and I love it. It's genius.
Just got my Nexus 4 back, JUST because i had a number and simcard-id, which cerberus sent me after i was drunk enough to lose it/forget it.
400€ more or less is a big difference, so i'll say cerberus is worth every cent.
Can anyone tell me what it does better than a free one like lookout?
another cerberus user
Best app
I got it free from "appgratis" promotion offer...
I bought it long time ago and for me, the best app! Lot of function and work very well.
have to try it. I often get lost phone ;/

Personally, I think it's better (for me) than Lookout because I don't yet believe in anti-virus software for mobile devices. Any of them. It will be needed eventually, probably, but right now, to me it's just wasted CPU cycles and wasted memory blocks.
Cerberus is just what I need. And it does it well. Installed it for the rest of my family too! All paid for. And I'd pay again!
So yesterday it was all over Google+, CyanogenMod is now incorporated and the team will now be able to do massive expansion and devote full time hours to the development of cm due to a 7 million dollar loan. I'm thinking we just witnessed history. Anyone else?

I am thinking that now they will want to pay back the loan and in the end make money. Meaning fewer free releases and more pay per use releases.

They can't charge for CyanogenMod because its open source, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them charge for certain add ons and services and use that to fund their efforts. I would definitely expect cm to get exponentially better over the next year.
Sent from my LG-E980 using Tapatalk 4
I'm sure they have a plan to monetize their offering or they wouldn't have been able to secure the capital. They ought to just tell everyone how that's going to happen. People aren't just handing out $7m without a business plan.
I'm happy for them, it's great to see hard working individuals create companies and make jobs for other folks out there.

More competition and choices on OS the better. Look forward to the new changes.

My only question before I buy this: How do you take it out? Looking at the video, it seems like it gets pretty flush with your device, yet I also use headphones. Is it easy to switch out?
Thanks! For 39 cents it's worth taking a chance. I just ordered one.

I think it would not be an issue because the audio jack has a slight curve for our phones. There will be a small gap towards the back of the phone where you can stick your finger nails under to remove the button.
The app sounds some what sketchy. I have to wonder if this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kober.headset would work with Pressy or it's clone.
Are you guys sure it's 0.39$ and not 2.02$ ?

I read a review somwhere that it does not work all the time (doesn't react everytime you press), maybe the apps gets killed by the system or something, or maybe it's just "you get what you paid for"..
I ended up ordering one from ebay.

PSA for anyone considering buying this or any such device - the "convenience" is not worth the trouble. Here are the few things you need to know -
These buttons work only with their companion apps. i.e you'll need to keep their app running.
From time to time, the app will forget what is plugged in and will wake up the device, asking you what's plugged in. i.e. look forward to a lot of wakelocks.
Sometime, it won't even prompt, asking for what is plugged. It'll think you've plugged in a headphone and act accordingly. So, you'll hear nothing from your speaker since the device is routing all sounds to the "headphone".
The above bug will also prevent you from speaking to your phone; i.e. you can't give commands to Google Now.
I speak from personal experience. I have the Klick button, which I had bought from tinydeals for ~ $1.90.
In for one. For this price not really out much if it doesn't work.
