[Q] Phone went does not boot up after rebooting - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Xperia Arc LT15i, last installed was FXP150 - CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1.2
- which I was using for almost 2 weeks without any reboots or crashes nor any setting tweaks.
Yes, I have tried checking through a lot of searches and googling, haven't found any solution so far.
I had initially rebooted my phone to recovery using the option within the OS. It went on and loaded CWM, there I just looked around the menu, and clicked "reboot system now". After that the phone started booting, but after the FreeXperia screen, just displays a blank screen and gets stuck there. I re-entered CWM, and tried rebooting, still won't boot the regular OS. I tried re-installing FXP from sd-card (the same one that I had installed 2 weeks back) but now it won't install that release either. I tried toggling signature and re-installing, it still doesn't install.
I tried connecting the phone as mass storage through CWM, but my laptop won't detect it. The adb drivers don't work despite being installed correctly. Fastboot is the only thing that seems to detect my phone. But I cannot install new ROM using fastboot.
Please help.

Switch off your phone (if you can't try battery pull)
Use flash tools and install stock firmware and follow onscreen instructions
(Search and download ics stock firmware
Connect phone in flash mode by pressing back button and connecting)

Is there no way to make it work on FXP from this point itself ?
I was kinda hoping I could get it to run FXP directly....

If you can access Cwm get a complete back up and then after installing stock after installing Cwm you can restore...
But the best way is to flash stock and install fresh to avoid problems

yes, will do that ofcourse. But was wondering if there was any way to get it to work as it is.
CWM is already working, and the sd-card already contains the package too.....

Markphytons ICS 4.0.4 not booting

I am having trouble installing Markphytons ICS 4.0.4 on my device.
I have a Canada r800a Locked Bootloader
I have followed the instructions included here( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1762372 )
Everything works well it is actually the rom i am using for now.
My problem is when i flash MarkphytonsFinal_ICS.zip from my CWM everything seems to go fine then i reboot and get stuck at the SONY boot logo forever, does not loop and i have to remove battery to make it stop and flash a new ftf from flashtool to gain any access to my phone.
Am i doing something wrong or can this simply not be installed on r800a?
......... sorry
I dont think custom rom specially ics is available for xplay under att or verizon, but if it is i have a small tip to make it work, this usually works r800i, and this happened to me before.
The way to make it work is by accessing the right recovery. So download Lupus Kernel "the Linaro v4 or above" flash the kernel and access recovery by pressing the back button.
From there on just wipe and factory then install markpythons rom.
Before the standard recovery is causing me bootloops too, but as soon as i got rid of the blue/standard recovery and got red one or the dooms, i was able to flash ics roms.
Sent from my R800i using Tapatalk 2
I am making progress after a lot of trial and error i have successfully flash and booted the rom on my locked r800a.
More updates later if it works well with stock Neo L kernel
Booted everything up fine but i cannot reinstall CWM recovery because i cannot properly mount /system as writable.
If anyone with locked bootloader is willing to try here is what i did:
1. Flash stock 2.3.4 image, i used R800i_4.0.2.A.0.58_Enhanced.ftf
2. Turn it on so you can have usb debugging/MSC connection mode
3. Root it using your favorite method -flashtool works easily
4. Install CWM recovery
5. Flash R800i_4.1.B.0.479_Kernel.ftf
6. Factory reset/Data wipe+Clear cache+Clear Dalvik cache+Format /system
Formatting /system is what made it run for me else i was stuck at sony logo
7. Install MarkphytonsFinal_ICS.zip
If anyone can reinstall CWM after they reboot in this version please post how as i am stumped.
Cant apply update or stock wifi modules so i am trying a different rom next.

[Q] LT15i bricked: how to get into CWM??

Good morning,
Yesterday, I tried to unlock and root my friend's Xperia Arc (LT15i). Although it was running FW .62, I did manage to unlock the bootloader and root the phone. I installed CWM, emptied the phone (I thought) and installed the Xperia Ultimate HD ROM.
Unfortunately, I think I forgot a detail. I wiped data/factory reset, cache and Dalvik, but after the installation of the ROM completed succesfully, rebooting the phone keeps it hanging at the Sony Ericsson logo. It seems to be hanging right at that moment, because the problem is that when I then press the Vol.Down button, I'm not getting back into CWM.
I tried to use the "Unbrick" option to flash an original .ftf file via Flashtool, but then I get the "Error in processHeader: 1 Incorrect function".
Can anybody give me a clue on how to:
a) get into CWM
or
b) restore the phone so I can try again
Thanks a lot in advance!
PS: is there a way to get in the bootloader and go to CWM from there? It all seems to be so much more difficult then on my own Nexus S

FW .62 is gingerbread ROM and UHD is ICS ROM.I think you forgot to install ICS kernel. Use the suggested lupus kernel for UHD or any other ICS kernel in Fastboot mod or using flash tool then you can boot into ICS.

Oh crap, I didn't even think about that I figured it would be implemented in the ROM. Thanks a lot, I'll try that right away when I get home! :good:

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Bricked Badly--Please HELP

Hi My Galaxy Nexus seems to be Bricked.(PHONE NOT BOOTING)
Problem:
1. Power button doesn't work- Phone not booting
2. I connected through a USB cable then phone started charging, Then i tried to boot which didn't work
2.1 Then i tried to go into Recovery (TWRP) which somehow worked for a while and then rebooted.
2.2 After trying more i finally managed to get TWRP working and i re-flashed the same version of Paranoid Android(@BigBrother) 4.3 Beta 2 that was installed - DIDN'T WORK
3. Then i trying to take the backup and succeeded using ADB from TWRP.
3.1 Then i flashed an old version of PA - didn't work
3.2 Then i tried installing the Stock ROM (4.3) - Installed successfully- But didn't work on restart. After Restarting the Google screen came up and then the Battery Charging indicator started flashing. The phone didn't boot up.
Initially i used Trickster MOD to overclock the phone to 1.5 Ghz, but I did it in Morning and the phone was fine till night So i am still not sure of the reason.
Anyone Please Help :'(
can you get into download mode?
if yes then reflash the stock google image using terminal and not toolkit.
if you successfully flashed 4.3, then go to recovery mode and wipe data/cache. it should boot up correctly.
run stock firmware for a week and see if the phone is stable.

Guys Any Help.. :|

Feel so helpless, Stuck on Sony Logo.

So I was following the Easy Root Tool instructions to root my device, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2784900
rooting was successful but when it came to installing the duel recovery, ran the .bat file, installation was successful but when the phone restarted itself it didn't boot up past the Sony logo.
Is there a way to fix this? Please!

Nevermind, I just learnt about the soft reset button, I swear I did it before but it didn't do anything. Does anyone have some tips in case something like this happened again, is there anything I should backup?
Not sure if there is anything worth backing up at that point. After rooting, maybe you would want to back up apps (with their data/your settings included) by using TitaniumBackup? And to be extra safe, backing up all the files from your internal SDcard (in case it gets formatted)
Re: recovery - is it possible that you chose a recovery that was not technically for the Z1C? It's an easy mistake to grab a Z1 recovery (or in my case, a couple of times, I grabbed Z1 kernels by accident ) Which recovery did you flash exactly?
And in case you're not sure about how to get your phone back to stock - flash a stock FTF using Flashtool. If you haven't installed Flashtool yet, once you have installed it, make sure to go into the Drivers folder in your Flashtool folder and install drivers for your phone + flashmode driver + fastboot driver. If you're using Win8 or higher, you may need to reboot Win8 into a special mode where it allows you to install unsigned/unverified drivers. That should be easy to do / find via google.
I can see that there is an FTF for 4.4.4 now... and I think it can be rooted using the same method you used. Can't wait to try it.

I never actually flashed a recovery, I installed ndr utilises as mentioned in the easy root tool instructions. If I boot holding power down it takes me to Twrp I think, but if I use the app itself to boot, it'll boot to a black screen, it doesn't seem to boot into Cwm either. I suppose I'll have to flash them?
There's a bug in the latest dualrecovery that will get you stuck on the Sony logo, same happened to me. Just install beta version 2.7.128 or older and it works fine.

Bricked phone

Hello,
A friend of mine tried to change from stock ROM to Eragon a few days ago.
He wiped all data and then tried to flash the ROM from Android system recovery but it wont install the ROM.
So now the phone just loads the boot screen when its started but nothing happens after that. I can still get access to Android system recovery.
From what I understand, he should have installed CWM before doing anything really but what's done is done.
Is there a way to save his phone?
Hi,
no worries, it's safe! Just reflash Stock ROM, afterwards CWM and install Eragon.

I have downloaded K05TS-A.A.vA0L.E1.150725.zip (Stock ROM Elephone P8000_20150909_Android)
put that on sd card, then I tried to "apply update from sdcard"
then I get "opening update package..." then "installation aborted"
is there something im doing wrong?
You need to use the sp flash tool, there is a guide somewhere so either try the BBS.elephone forum or Google it you will need to install mtk drivers on your PC/laptop...

Sp flash tool wont start to download.
Is there a certain setting that needs to be on phone, when you just connect it android preloader shows up in drivers quickly and then disappear. But if you hold down Vol - you get "CDC Serial"
But when in fastboot you get android "ADB Interface."
From what I have understood you want to stay in Preloader.
How do I do that?
Have read about sp flash tool, but there seems to be problems with the downloading proces and the mtk drivers.
Any idéas?
Click download first and then connect the phone while it's off. The guide on elephone's site is weirdly explained.

1. Install drivers on your pc
2. download spflashtool
Turn off phone
3. format all + download K05TS-A.A.vA0L.E1.150725.zip
connect phone to pc while off
4. when its done start phone, takes around 5minutes to boot up.
5. download cwm recovery
6. use Spflashtool again and flash cwm.
7. put eragon 2.5 on your SDcard
8. Restart phone in recovery, turn off, powerbutton + vol up.
9. wipe data / factory and cash, and delvik cash.
10. install eragon 2.5
DONE
Thanks for all your suggestions on how to fix it.
I will try them as soon as possible.
To be clear:
You can only install STOCK ROM with SP Flash Tool
You can only install ERAGON ROM via Recovery
To install ERAGON you need to be ROOT'ed and have working CUSTOM Recovery...
Followed Peinnes list of what to do and it worked!
Thanks alot for the help!
