Hello,
A friend of mine tried to change from stock ROM to Eragon a few days ago.
He wiped all data and then tried to flash the ROM from Android system recovery but it wont install the ROM.
So now the phone just loads the boot screen when its started but nothing happens after that. I can still get access to Android system recovery.
From what I understand, he should have installed CWM before doing anything really but what's done is done.
Is there a way to save his phone?
Hi,
no worries, it's safe! Just reflash Stock ROM, afterwards CWM and install Eragon.

I have downloaded K05TS-A.A.vA0L.E1.150725.zip (Stock ROM Elephone P8000_20150909_Android)
put that on sd card, then I tried to "apply update from sdcard"
then I get "opening update package..." then "installation aborted"
is there something im doing wrong?
You need to use the sp flash tool, there is a guide somewhere so either try the BBS.elephone forum or Google it you will need to install mtk drivers on your PC/laptop...

Sp flash tool wont start to download.
Is there a certain setting that needs to be on phone, when you just connect it android preloader shows up in drivers quickly and then disappear. But if you hold down Vol - you get "CDC Serial"
But when in fastboot you get android "ADB Interface."
From what I have understood you want to stay in Preloader.
How do I do that?
Have read about sp flash tool, but there seems to be problems with the downloading proces and the mtk drivers.
Any idéas?
Click download first and then connect the phone while it's off. The guide on elephone's site is weirdly explained.

1. Install drivers on your pc
2. download spflashtool
Turn off phone
3. format all + download K05TS-A.A.vA0L.E1.150725.zip
connect phone to pc while off
4. when its done start phone, takes around 5minutes to boot up.
5. download cwm recovery
6. use Spflashtool again and flash cwm.
7. put eragon 2.5 on your SDcard
8. Restart phone in recovery, turn off, powerbutton + vol up.
9. wipe data / factory and cash, and delvik cash.
10. install eragon 2.5
DONE
Thanks for all your suggestions on how to fix it.
I will try them as soon as possible.
To be clear:
You can only install STOCK ROM with SP Flash Tool
You can only install ERAGON ROM via Recovery
To install ERAGON you need to be ROOT'ed and have working CUSTOM Recovery...
Followed Peinnes list of what to do and it worked!
Thanks alot for the help!
Thx very much for this solution that work fine
Just i lose my imei duration and i fix it via the EngineerMode (*#*#3646633#*#*) connectivity - cds information - radio information - phone 1 - AT+ EGMR=1,7,"IMEI" and for phone 2 AT+ EGMR=1,10,"IMEI" (with the space between + and E and a restart at the evry time), you save me

Dear guys from XDA,
I think I messed up real good this time. My rooted HTC Desire with a 2.2 ROM wasn't taking the update which I wanted to do. To fix this I tried to manually update my phone by downloading the update on my computer and run it via Recovery mode. I used the option install zip from sd card.
Unfortunately by doing so, I did not realize I deleted my ROM and replaced it with an update. Now I'm stuck with a phone in bootloop and red triangle when trying to access recovery mode to install my older ROM (which I usually did when I messed it up).
I know I can press the volume up button and reboot but then I get stuck into a bootloop. Eventually I have to pull the battery out and I'm back at the beginning. Can't do anything anymore.
I tried many tutorials but I could not fix this, also I'm not really into the 'techy' stuff so can you guys be real clear in your help.
sounds like you're just missing a ROM on your phone. Can't you just download the ROM you want, put it on your SD card and flash that to get back up and running? Or restore a NANDroid backup?
...assuming you mean you rooted your phone and then failed at flashing a ROM..but it sounds like you might mean you attempted to download and OTA update after being rooted?
Download a ROM, put it on your SD card, boot into Recovery (vol. down + power), wipe all data, cache, dalvik, then install the new ROM from the SD card.
Hi,
thx for your reply. I am indeed missing a ROM. The problem is that I can't access the option 'install zip from sdcard' in my recovery mode. I am now trying to rename a ROM as update.zip so I can install that. Any further suggestions?

Install HTC Sync, download the RUU which most resembles your original RUU from here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695667.
Connect your phone via USB in fastboot, and run the RUU.exe you've downloaded. You should be fine.
yes it helps you
you can run a RUU now
just plug phone with usb cable to PC, boot into fastboot mode and execute the RUU.exe
it will go back to stock, you will lose root and custom recovery but at least it will boot up, so you can root again etc.
Thx guys! that did it for me! Really easy job! You have no idea how relieved I am right now. Some tech-guys at my local computer shop told me to send it back to the manufacturer cuz the ROM needed to be synced with the motherboard. I already thought it was a weird story.
Again, thx XDA!
friends and i mean its stucked deep!
i was running cm7 full63 nightly and some app my brother download stuck the phone.i take it in my hands flash it again with wipes and wasent working good.then i go to the cwm again.i do 4 wipes(factory-cache-davlik-battery)and go to mounds and storage and do format chace-data-system!and that was for defy the death!
it downgrade my cwm from 5.something and i have <3e> and it cant find my rom on apply sdcard;update.zip to flash it,it says ,can't mound cache;recovery/log,it cant do nothink with this cwm!!
please help if you want!thank you!!

Install RSDLite on your PC. Use WinRAR or 7zip to decompress the. gz file you downloaded (there is an sbf file inside - the clean Froyo firmware you want to flash - and save it somewhere.
Take your Defy and press the power and volume up button and release after some seconds so that you enter the bootloader mode (you see some white text on black ground).
Connect the phone via USB with your PC with RSDLite running.
In RSDLite click the button with the three dots and open the sbf file you extracted.
Hit the start button. Now it starts flashing the firmware, takes a couple of minutes.
When it's done the phone reboots and is running a Motorola Froyo firmware (not rooted or something, it can't really be called a ROM). If you want you can root, install CWM again etc and put your ROM in it again.
Almost always when your Defy is doesn't boot anymore or is somehow broken softwarewise, you can use this method to repair it.
thank you for your time.

If you want the recovery menu you need to install 2ndinit. http://goo.gl/5P89P
Open the app and install the recovery menu with it, then reboot (some say it is safer to reboot even two times). You get the blue LED after powering the phone on, you have to press volume down then. There you can get to the custom recovery and wipe data, cache, install zips from SD etc.

to root your g510-200
Step 1: download and install Huawei drivers on your pc
Step 2: unlock your bootloader at this site http://www.huaweidevice.com/worldwide/servicePolicy.do?method=preUnlock you will have to wait a day or so for your code. follow instructions on that website to unlock your bootloader.
Step 3: download
installTWRPg510.zip
Click to collapse
OR
installCWMg510.zip
Click to collapse
and extract to desktop.
Step 4: go to settings on your phone, enable usb debugging and turn fast boot off. Now connect you phone to your pc in fastboot mode (start phone while holding volume down to enter fastboot mode. phone will stay on boot animation) go to the folder on your desktop and click the install-windows batch file. press any key to reboot. you now have cwm or twrp recovery installed.
Step 5: copy UPDATE-superSU.zip to your sd card and reboot phone into recovery by starting the phone while holding down the volume up button. choose install zip from sd card and flash
UPDATE-superSU.zip
Click to collapse
your phone is now rooted. keep this file in your sd card because some custom roms don't have root and you will need to re-flash this file. if superSU doesnt show up in your apps just download it from marketplace its free.
Step 6: make a back up of your stock rooted rom before you start flashing any custom roms.
I have tested this myself!
I have a g510-0200 with b189 optus firmware and i rooted my phone this way. Then restored it to stock factory b173 rom then rooted it again. So it works very well on both firmwares. :good:
ROMS!!!!
There are plenty of roms to try here! http://www.modaco.com/topic/365268-all-custom-roms-for-huawei-ascend-y300g510/ you can flash y300 (u8833) roms on your g510 too. you can flash custom g510-0100 roms on your g510-0200 phone and visa versa as long as your flashing them in a custom recovery. However if you are downloading factory stock firmware from huawei and installing it via the dload method on your sd card you MUST have the correct firmware eg: g510-0200 on a g510-0200 phone. This is only what ive read and im not willing to brick my phone. correct me if im wrong?
Not able to get into TWRP or CWM
Hey there sonyachin!

I have rooted it using another method
But I can't seem to get it in CWM or TWRP...
Will I still able to use your method of getting TWRP or CWM without Unrooting and Re-Rooting again???
It will be really a great help if you can reply fast!!!
Im new to rooting so... Yeah...

I've been at this for almost 10 hours now and i need a solution. Every time i try and root through the method below, everything works fine till about step 17 where an error at formatting system pops up every time i try to format the system. Is there a reason why? and i cant access my memory card too from that recovery method.

Which recovery menu are you using? TWRP or Philz touch? Which dualrecovery did you use? (do not use version 2.7.97)
Hey really appreciate the reply.
So I get through everything correctly till step 13, i run the lockedualrecovery 2.7.92, i run the install.bat file, runs smoothly till it says waiting for device to reboot, where it hangs for a while. I end up unplugging phone, force the phone off, and turn it on again and plug the usb back in, and then it says installation successful...(I have read somewhere the kernel gets the phone to reboot once rooted, but i've waited over an hour and it doesnt reboot, this is why i plugged it off, force it off then on again for the installation successful to come up)
I get through step 14,15 and 16.
Once in step 17, in Philz touch recovery, when i try to format it says error in formatting and has all these errors again when i try to factory reset through Philz Touch recovery. I then try and access my external_sd but my memory card is not readable through it (checked its not in exFAT, it was in FAT32 which is the default windows format).
So i end up booting in TWRP recovery. Tried and installing the 3 files in order that way. Rebooted it in from TWRP and the phone is just dead, Doesn't turn on whatsoever. However i am able to repeat the processes again. Repeated processes almost 5 times now, no luck.
Is my Kernel dead? is there a kernel i can flash to fix so i can restore to factory settings? or is it totally different issue. I hope phone isnt bricked.
Please need your help. Thanks heaps.
Hanafi.

Which ROM are You trying to flash? If it is a Kitkat ROM as You mentioned, then first copy the ROM and gapps to phone for flashing purposes .
Now, on PC, extract the boot.img from rom zip and flash it via fastboot. Then flash the ROM via twrp which would be installed from that boot.img!

You must have not flashed the rom after flashing the boot.img. That's why it used to get stuck on boot logo of Sony. The kernel(boot.img) of any Kitkat ROM won't with JB ROM as far as I know.
Don't worry, there is still hope since You can at least get it to boot up halfway.
That flashing the original ftf is weird. Are You sure the ftf file is proper? Try downloading a new one. or if You were able to successfully able to flash the original firmware according to flashtool, try flashing it again using Sony Update Service(SUS). Can't guarantee the SUS will work or not.

Hello.
I'm trying to get this **** working as well, but even though it seems like you gave some crystal clear instructions I still manage to not understand it. I unlocked the bootloader on my S and downloaded. All I really wanted to do was get a good 4.4 ROM running, any chance you could toss an idiot some help?
From what I understand:
1. copy the ROM zip-file over to phone
2. connect phone to pc and fastboot it
3. flash the boot.img from the rom zip-file
4. flash the ROM (how?)
I did a quick google on twrp but don't quite understand what I need it for or if I need it.
EDIT: After a bit of looking, apparently the ROM I'm looking to flash (Paranoid Android) installs twrp when you flash the boot.img. Just in case that changes anything.
Brick?
Hi. So I just tried to flash the boot.img from the latest Paranoid Android, got 0 errors or bad blocks, succesful flash according to cmd. I did fastboot reboot as the guide here says: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1526866
LED notification goes pink for a few seconds, I get the Sony logo then just an infinite black screen. Left it on for about 15 minutes with no success. I tried force rebooting/shutting it down with volup+power for 5/10 seconds, but both of them just result in the phone getting instantly turned back on and going pink LED->Sony logo->black screen. This means I can't (from what I can tell anyway) boot into fastboot (vol-up+connect to USB does nothing, vol-down+connect to USB gets me a green LED for a few seconds but then goes over to pink LED, Sony logo and then black screen).
I would really appreciate any kind of help right now, even just advice on how to turn this phone off would be fantastic, because right now that also seems impossible.

No worries! If You were able to perform upto step no.3 properly, then when You boot into twrp(Press volume up button 2-3 times while booting up), there is an option there called as "Install". In that You select the zip file of the ROM and slide the bar to install it!
