If a contact has more than one number (work and mobile for example), I set the mobile number as the default number. However, In the dialer, when I type in that person's name, the first number available is not the default number. I have to select the drop down and then select the number to call. Sometimes I don't want the default number, but most of the time I do.
How can I set up the dialer to show the default number as the main number?

It is possible to recognise the first 5 digits from a phone number and attach a ringtone to it? I use a service called 'second number' and all calls comming from that number start with 06321xxxxx where x stand for random number. I tried to make an entry in my phonebook with the 06321 number and a ringtone, but this doesn't work.
Any ideas on this?
Is there or anyone know of any apps to block/redirect particular calls?
i.e. if phone number 07123456789 calls then it will automatically send to voicemail / another number or even just disconnect?
and/or if it worked for unknown numbers even better...
Keep getting nuisance calls, I've changed my number once and don't really want to do it again as I've only just got used to this one - I read that o2 will just suggest to change number
Thanks
In your dialer's call log, long press the number, then select the option to add to blacklist It should instant redirect it to voicemail.
long press the number and i get 'view detailed call history' 'edit number before calling' ('view contact' or 'save to people') 'send text message' 'delete from call history'
no blacklisting?
however, if i go into the contacts and i can select the 'send to voicemail' feature and turn it on
thanks!
When have a conversation and want to type the telephone number while talking I press numeric panel. But the number typed there is gone after talk finished.
No difference what kind of dialer using - Dialer One or stock one - both just erase the number when the talk is over.
Is there any possibility (setting, magic, woodoo, sacrifice, prayer) to simply type the number and than call that number after present call end - in DEFY?
Help.
Hi,
Is there a way to have the incoming call display identify which number of a contact is calling - for example, I have two numbers in the same contact for someone, mobile and work. When she calls, it just says the person's name and photo , rather than Name - Work or Name- Mobile.
Short of splitting it into two separate contacts, do you know if displaying the 'type' (or number) is possible?
Thanks
It is showing the number for me. I have some contacts with 3 or 4 numbers in them.
My phone forgets "default" number setting for contact. This is very annoying. I suspect it happens when it syncs with Google contacts, which do not have notion of "default" number. Correct me if I am wrong.
I guess the best option would be to find alernative dialer app, which stores default number setting (at least for quick-dial contacts) in a way it is not lost during sync with Google. Any suggestions?

If contact has multiple phone numbers you can long press on one of them and in popup menu chose "set as default".
When in dialer app you swipe right on this contact it will call this number. If none set as default it will call first one.
