So I was listening to music on my phone with slim bean and it fell behind the bed and when I found it all it does is say Samsung and vibrate in a consistent pattern. Also if I remove the battery and put it back in it vibrates as soon as battery/charger is connected. Does this mean it somehow got in bootloader mode? If so is their a way to get it out without my PC? I tried getting into twrp but. No avail.

These is a similar thread floating around here where people have had this issue when using Pandora. See if you can search for it.

Thank you, I fell into a noob panic. Thanks for calming me down lol. Looks like I may have a power button issue on my hands

No problem. I knew there was something on it but didn't know the details. People have also had a similar problem with Pandora. Don't know if that's what you were listening to, but there seems there's a problem with Pandora and the latest roms.

I was listening to music from my SD card. I got it to boot
But I didn't have the similar in and when I rebooted it it did the same thing. Also got it to load the tarp splash and it rebooted then and I can see the screen flicker like it was booting and the power button was pressed. Looks like I'm going to have to send it off. Hope I can get it replaced for free if not I'm gonna look at a different phone.

I just got a new sgs2 thru a warranty exchange, but for some reason this one doesnt have a lockscreen. I press the power button and It just opens to my homescreen, also when I hold the power button it just shuts down instead of giving me the lil options of shutting down, airplane, etc. will installing a ROM fix these issues or do I gotta get a new one again?? Thanks

Yes a new rom should clear this up np. the rom im using actually gives you the option to remove the lockscreen all together. the prior user of your phone must have removed the lockscreen.... Either that or they have some shady software program that restores the phones at tmobil.

I wonder if Widget Locker alone is enough to fix your problem.
I've had a couple of weird crashes in the last few days. I'm on Verizon GN.
First, the buttons on the bottom of the screen disappeared. I could actually still touch them but the visuals didn't show. Then recently trying to unlock, the screen didn't respond to the touches. Had to pull battery and restart. Finally. This morning I went to check email and the phone dialed a * something number.I was able to hang up before it connected but it was weird.
Any thoughts suggestions? I'm on the stock rom.

sounds like you have a lemon. I'd call vzw to talk warranty.

Thanks Keith,
I've only had the phone a couple of weeks. I'll talk to them.

So today the volume stopped workin on the e4gt i gave my son. When i turn it up it says warning listining to loud music could be harmful as if the headphones were in. The phone still rings so i know the speakers not broke. Dose anyone know what this could be?

same thing happened to me, use a q tip to clean out the inside of the headphone jack, if that doesnt work wait a few days and it should go back to normal, thats what it did for me
You tried a battery pull yeah?

Wrong section to post this in. Should be in the Q&A.
I would try battery pull first.

so i had a gnex with a busted usb port. i was using my moms gnex battery in the meantime to send a few important tests before i went off the air, and then i got a HTC One (which is awesome btw) to replace it, but when i got the usb pcb to replace the busted one, i replaced it all and triple checked all connections before putting phone back together.
Basically the problem is this. power button wont do anything. the battery i have i know has a 50% charge on it. I tried the pull battery put in usb put in battery trick and that gets me to the charging logo for about 15 seconds and then the phone turns off.
Do i have a bricked phone?
any ideas?

Just tried that fix. went through the steps but it still wont turn on. im assuming its just a lost cause at this point?
can anyone confirm i should just put the phone in the phone graveyard and move on seeing that the omap flash didnt work? or?
Ok, so i can't really tell if this particular problem has been posted before but from what i have looked through it has not. However, if i have just missed it then please just redirect me to it as long as it matches my problem so please read through my post before posting that its been done.
So moving along, as the title says i have a Samsung Galaxy s2 SGH-T989 and i've been running CyanogenMod 10.2. Oh and before i forget, the battery is not dead and just in case i've tried to turn it on while plugged in only to get the same results. Anyways over the past 24 hours my phone started shutting off randomly to the point now that it shuts off before finishing booting. If it does finish it doesn't stay on long enough to do anything and sometimes it barely turns on.
Has this been heard of before and even if not what can i try or do?
Three words:
Broken power button
Apparently it's a very common issue with this phone.
It has yet to happen on my phone. I hope it never does lol.
You can try replacing the button yourself or take it to a cellphone repair shop.
Sounds right, the button is difficult to replace, best to have a shop replace it. I have fixed a couple by tightening the button. You tube, easy power button fix t989 by iamkambodian. Only if you're OK with taking it apart.
Ps, you can feel the button click if it's good.

Well i tried the method in the video and that doesn't seem to have fixed it. Also not entirely sure its the power button but i don't really know how to tell either. Anyways if there are any other ideas please let me know.
This is what I did when I messed up a recovery: plugged it in the computer and held all 3 buttons until Samsung then just volume up. It got me into download mode where I used Odin to flash another recovery.
