Hi,
I really dislike the nexus 4 stock gallery app. It's grey background etc looks really boring. Is there a better gallery app? Maybe from note 2 or galaxy s3? The stock gallery is not really changeable..

Best gallery app ever is still Quick Pic imho. It's nothing fancy like 3d but it's super fast and easy to use for cutting or resizing pics.
Try the Sony album posted back on the gnex forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820232 Pinch effect is neat to play with and show off.
There is a newer version posted towards the end of the thread. Works great on 4.2.1 except for sharing (fc).
IMO QuickPic is pretty nice. You should check it out

I don't like the default gallery on the G2, what are your suggestions for the best replacement?
the stock gallery from the desire, i had it on my nexus one but not sure if it will work on G2, its superfast.
Wish I could use the g1 gallery imo it was fast and simple. all these silly effects do nothing for me.
astro image viewer
2 apps that I know of called: just pictures! & Floating image

Wassup everybody,
Im here looking to see if anybody knows if there is any app that has HD wallpapers that fit well on the G2 withouth having it look a little weird or too close to the wallpaper picture. I know there is a lot of HD wallpaper apps in the market but, the thing is it all says the same but end up having wallpapers with high resolution or something that once you apply it as your background the wallpaper looks a little bit different but in a bad way like all... too close or not perfect idk how to explain it. But what I'm looking for is a wallpaper app that shows the wall papers full hd with the right fit and resolution just like the ones that are put in the Cyanogen mod wallpapers and that comes with the phone. Or if there's anyway I can edit the large pictures myself, meaning size and etc, please let me know thanks...

I use HD wallpapers. Free on Market. Has a good selection.
Zedge is a good wallpaper/ringtone/notification app. Not really sure how HD the wallpapers are, but they look great on my G2.

Why do you even need to do that? You can crop just about any photo in your gallery for use as wallpaper within Android.
Alternately, you can use most any photo manipulation software on your desktop computer to scale/crop the image to 960x800, then copy it to your phone. If you don't have any such software, GIMP is a good, free, open-source one.

Looks Beautiful. Even though it's kind of basic when it comes to customization, it looks great.

You can accomplish this UI with the current apps on the playstore... Desktop Visualizer, Widget Locker, Multi Live Wallpaper and a little Gimp/Photoshop to make the wallpaper and some time... boom you have a very basic UI I think sharp isn't going to go anywhere with this.

I don't get why they put icons inside of squares. Its like putting an icon inside an icon which leaves you with a 3 column app tray. Think about all the scrolling you'd have to do.
The lock screen is cool and I'm sure the app store will have something similar soon enough.

its similar, use multi-live-wallpaper and set crop to "Fit to screen" (this is my version of it) if anyone wants it. I personally do not like this UI but I thought i would take a step toward what some ppl want. Ill make the icons 2mrw if you guys want em. https://www.dropbox.com/s/ffkbkwgxqvm681a/FEELUI.rar Enjoy!

this is more than just a home screen transition.
nothing out there (that i have seen at least) gives you vertical scrolling on the home screen as well as horizontal scrolling.
also, the lock screen is more than just a widgetlocker theme. the clock wont be on the bottom, and it wont scroll, the lock screen wallpaper wont scroll, you cant slide the lock icon up, and get the options, you dont get the nicer looking missed call/mail/sms pop ups.
this goes MUCH further than just some skin.
I just read an article about this from The Verge and i'm intrigued. The developers created Next interface and seem to be onto something. They feel the desktop is an unnecessary step to get to the app tray. Fair point, why have a bunch of apps then hit a button to get to your other apps? In the quest to be pc-like, Android has a desktop and widgets. Great, but I do see the point being made here. Oh, and notifications were redesigned.

A full port would be amazing. It would become my daily for sure, it's so creative and the design and fonts and everything is so beautiful. I love clean looks.
Would love a port...but its not gonna be out for a while...considering Feel UX phones arent even out yet in Japan.

Very impressed with the slick lockscreen, but not so impressed with the basic UI otherwise. Although I couldn't understand what he was saying, adding lines in between rows of icons is not a feature.

I think they where aiming at more user friendlyness hahha. As if android isnt userfriendly enough hahaha

Ok, totally hate hte gallery app. Anyone have any suggestions for a better one that is free? Even better would be if I could get Google's nexus gallery on my M8. I can't stand the effects the HTC gallery does to every group of pictures. A, I don't want them grouped. B, I don't want effects. C, Its annoying and cumbersome to delete pictures.
Use photos instead?

Thanks guys. I'll try QuickPic. I also got the Nexus Galley from a gapps zip and it works too. QuickPic looks more of what I was looking for. Thank again!
With TouchWiz you were able to hide images easily. How do you hide them in Sense? I can't find hide anywhere.
Thanks
Looking for the Nexus style gallery. Anyway to flash the Nexus gallery? I've tried some from play store but they all have to many ads n annoying pop-ups.
Try Quick Pics, one of the best I've used.

I'm using the Sony album apk
i use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.focus&hl=en
works pretty well
Leafpic is the best I've found
Just a heads up, the mods will tell you this thread should have gone to the Q&A subforum because it's a "question" even thought it's a question about an app.
I'll recommend QuickPic too. It may be called CyanogenMOD Gallery or something now (in some places).
Been using quickpic since android 5 as my default gallery. Does the job well.

I normally use the original AOSP Gallery (Gallery2), however have been using Photos since I got my Pixel.
