I don't like the default gallery on the G2, what are your suggestions for the best replacement?
the stock gallery from the desire, i had it on my nexus one but not sure if it will work on G2, its superfast.
Wish I could use the g1 gallery imo it was fast and simple. all these silly effects do nothing for me.

It might work,I used the Moment 2d gallery for awhile, but you had to get used to no multi touch and it would FC when setting wallpaper,so you had to do it from the wallpaper picker app,not the gallery; But it was alot faster,I finally gave in to the 3d version though.

I would give QuickPic a look. Quick, clean, sexy.
Gallery 3D is in the market as well.
Hi,
I really dislike the nexus 4 stock gallery app. It's grey background etc looks really boring. Is there a better gallery app? Maybe from note 2 or galaxy s3? The stock gallery is not really changeable..

Best gallery app ever is still Quick Pic imho. It's nothing fancy like 3d but it's super fast and easy to use for cutting or resizing pics.
Try the Sony album posted back on the gnex forum. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820232 Pinch effect is neat to play with and show off.
There is a newer version posted towards the end of the thread. Works great on 4.2.1 except for sharing (fc).
IMO QuickPic is pretty nice. You should check it out
I love me some .gifs!
Sadly, the Gallery app does not. Well, atleast animated .gif files. I will not tolerate this!
So, that got me thinking... Is it possible to make .gif files animated in my gallery without the need for a custom firmware or any of that gobbledegook?
What if, someone were to get the Gallery app's apk and modify it to be able to display animated gif files? Then Nexus 4 users could install that apk and just disable the gallery apk that came with the device.
Just a thought. I'm sure there's ways to make animated gif files work, but this could be a better, easier way to do it, if it is possible.
If someone wants to develop this, I'll gladly pay for them to do so.
Cheers

Thanks for the post,
Quickpic looks like a great app, I just wish it was called Gallery, and had its icon. Is it possible to modify the quickpic apk and change the app name and icon?

The dilemma is that Android doesn't quite support .gif playback, so this functionality has to be coded on other "dirty" ways.
Third party apps may be able to playback gifs using such methods, but this playback won't be as efficient until strong gif support is incorporated into Android.
Yea Ive been using QuickPic and it plays gifs with no problems.

Ok, totally hate hte gallery app. Anyone have any suggestions for a better one that is free? Even better would be if I could get Google's nexus gallery on my M8. I can't stand the effects the HTC gallery does to every group of pictures. A, I don't want them grouped. B, I don't want effects. C, Its annoying and cumbersome to delete pictures.
Use photos instead?

agreed quickpic is my go to app
Thanks guys. I'll try QuickPic. I also got the Nexus Galley from a gapps zip and it works too. QuickPic looks more of what I was looking for. Thank again!
With TouchWiz you were able to hide images easily. How do you hide them in Sense? I can't find hide anywhere.
Thanks
Looking for the Nexus style gallery. Anyway to flash the Nexus gallery? I've tried some from play store but they all have to many ads n annoying pop-ups.
Try Quick Pics, one of the best I've used.

i use this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.focus&hl=en
works pretty well
Leafpic is the best I've found
Just a heads up, the mods will tell you this thread should have gone to the Q&A subforum because it's a "question" even thought it's a question about an app.
I'll recommend QuickPic too. It may be called CyanogenMOD Gallery or something now (in some places).
Been using quickpic since android 5 as my default gallery. Does the job well.

I normally use the original AOSP Gallery (Gallery2), however have been using Photos since I got my Pixel.
