awesome, i'll have to try this in the morning.
I would be careful following those directions. After many hours of countless testing (see here), I've come to the conclusion that those directions are best suited for people running roms on 4.1.1 and not 4.1.2. If the rom you are running is based on the N7100 or N7105 4.1.2, then don't use any of the NFC APKs and LIBs from that file. It will actually cause more problems. Instead, just do the following.
1. Change build.prop to the following:
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
2. Reboot.
3. Copy the wallet apk from the zip file included in the post to /system/app/
4. Change permission of the file. Under the "Read" check owner, group, and others. Under "Write" check owner and press ok.
5. Reboot.
6. Open wallet and set everything up (add your account and add your cards.)
7. Change your build.prop back to default.
8. Reboot.
9. Profit

Which of the above? What rom are you running? If you're runninga 4.1.1 rom, follow the initial directions. If you are running any rom based off the internation 7100/5, then try what I said.
Did the steps for the 4.1.2 version and wallets keeps closing once I open it

Sorry about that!
Currently, I am on CleanRom 3.3 - 4.1.2. Rogers SGH-i317m.
Like I said earlier, I followed everything to the letter. While installing Google Wallet, once I copy the apk into my /system/app folder and reboot, the Wallet apk disappears. The reason why it disappeared is because for some odd reason, Titanium Backup froze the app, so I defrosted, and there it was. Though, when I continued the steps, wallet apk kept force closing.

Hmm. Did at any time did you flash the NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87.zip or use the nfc apks from that file? If you did, you must start over and reflash your phone with a fresh install of Cleanrom 3.3. Also be wary of restoring from TiBu. Especially if you ran a backup after flashing or using any of the files from NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87.zip. Because if you did, it updates like 270 apps on your phone and those backups are no longer good for use. I ran into similar issues and didn't realize where the issue was coming from. Until I realized I was restoring a bad TiBu.
Also, just making sure, but when you installed the Google Wallet app, you used the Apk from the NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87.zip right and not from the Play Store? Also, you shouldn't install the apk, you are supposed to just copy it to the /system/app folder.

Same thing happened to me so I opened it afte4 rebbot kept gettn force close. So I deleted it rebooted and downloaded from the play store. From there I set it up with my pin and added a card. Then I went to data/app and ONLY deleted*not uninstalled* the wallet apk and rebooted. Now I took the apk from the zip file and placed it in the system/app folder, set corredt permissions and rebooted again. Then I opened up the wallet apk again and had no errors. Just to be sure I rebooted once more and tried the wallet app again. No errors so I changed my build.prop back to normal. App still runs with no errors. Will report back later today when I try using it at mcdonalds. Hopefully this towns mcdonalds nfc payment reader works.
Btw I did not use any of the apks or files besides the wallet apk in the zip before getting a force close on wallet.

I got google wallet working 100% on CleanRom 3.3. I've spent many hours testing with many of the different procedures on xda (see here). These are the steps I took.
1. Downloaded the NoteII-lib_nfc-fix-r87.zip file this thread.
2. Extract just the com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel.modaco.1.5-r87-v15.apk and copy it to /system/app and change permissions. For "Read" check owner, group and others. Under "Write" just check owner.
3. Next, navigate to your build.prop in your /system and edit it to mirror the Galaxy Nexus.
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
ro.product.device=maguro
4. Reboot.
5. Open Google Wallet and add accounts and cards.
6. If Wallet force closes on you then proceed to step a. If not go to step 7.
a) Delete the com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel.modaco.1.5-r87-v15.apk from /system/app.
b) Reboot.
c) Install Google Wallet from the Play Store.
d) Run Google wallet and setup your account and cards.
e) Delete the wallet.apk from /data/app
f) Copy the com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel.modaco.1.5-r87-v15.apk to /system/app and change permissions.
g) Reboot.
h) Open wallet again and make sure the accounts and cards are all there.
7. Change build.prop back to original.
8. Reboot.
9. Done.

Can you confirm that the app is in the /system/apps/ folder? If it is, using an app like xplore.. you can manually set the permissions to 644 or rw-r-r
EDIT: Don't flash this using rom manager or fix permissions using it. Thats probably where things are going wrong. Use Clockwork Recovery to flash the zip, then fix the permissions there. Unfortunately your the only one having issues

Finally got it to work! Did it using a roundabout method as described by Snalfio in the unofficial JB thread.
-Extract the TaskManager.apk from your zip file;
-copy it in system/app;
-manually set permissions rw- r-- r--;
and tadaa, it magically spawned in the apps drawer. I've flashed the 0810 japps, maybe its causing the zip file to be unable to be installed properly into the system/app folder.

Those who had the problem. Follow this step
1. Boot into CWM recovery
2. Fix permission
3. Flash task manager zip file.
4. Reboot
If you fix permission after flash, task manager wont appear.
You must fix permission first, then flash it.

Any help?
GS2 stock 4.03
Hey guys I've tried asking in the threads for these fixes but to no avail so hopefully someone will be able to help me if I make a thread for it. So my issue is that I've been using Google Wallet just fine with no issues using the "build prop edit, reboot recovery and move wallet apk into system/apps" method and it worked until a couple of CM10 updates awhile ago after which it stopped working, I've tried to go back to stock and use the touchwiz fix which also didn't work and currently I'm on the latest AOKP on which I still can't get it to work.
What seems to be happening is that the wallet app is not actually installing in the system, so after I copy the apk and restart, there is still no wallet app or anything in my drawer or if I try the zip file flash method after the restart I'll get a force close for wallet and then the app is gone as well. Not sure why it's happening or what to do, any help is appreciated and hopefully we can get me back on wallet asap, I'm glad I already used the prepaid card up lol.

I'm currently on the latest AOKP, I've tried it on codefirex, CM10 and the jellybean official leak(for the leak I tried the touchwiz fix method) and I've tried r75 and r79 neither are working but the copying the r75 apk into system/app method is what worked before. On the touchwiz fix method I actually was able to get wallet open but then it would say NFC would have to be enabled at which point the whole NFC/S-beam options would mysteriously disappear from the settings screens. There would also be a random vibration for no reason every few seconds.
Here's what I do
First I flash my rom then
I reboot. And with root explorer I put the wallet apk into the /system/app folder
I then change the permissions to the correct type. Then I access my build. Prop and make the three necessary changes. After that I reboot and I am able to use wallet with no problems. Btw I am using aokp and ill post the wallet apk I use in one sec. Are you on a Sammy rom because if you are you will most likely have to flash the new lib files as well

Ok so I used the files provided but now the phone won't boot up at all, it goes as far as the Samsung Galaxy S3 logo and then stops and stays black no bootanimation or anything, I'm gonna restore my nandroid and just see what happens if I use the apk alone and just manually change the build prop values for product device, model and name. Would you recommend the Galaxy Nexus values or the htc jewel? I use to use the Galaxy and it worked fine. I was also using root toolbox pro to edit the build prop which use to work as well,

I tried the other methods mentioned but they didn't work for me.
Here is the link to skynote rom thread and it contains the two files in the first post or so. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2093870 You can see who to thank for this at this thread.e
I don't take credit for any of this other than taking a chance and flashing these files from the Skynote Rom thread and trying on my Note 2 that has Cleanrom 4.0.5.
The cards I added to Wallet were my visa credit card, debit card and American Express.

I taught RC3 had the wallet stuff built right in there. No need to flash anything. Just change the build prop after setting up wallet. All these zips do is change the build props from NEXUS back to I317.

If you downloaded the two zip files from sky notes page for Google wallet it tells you that you have to get rid of the old Google wallet stuff so it doesn't get wonky when you set up the new ones. And yes you do have to use the old build prop afterwards. That's what the finalized zip is for after you flash the step 1 zip

what do you mean by cant get past? Do you mean it takes more than a few minutes and then you give up and reboot? I would make sure you uninstall any google wallet apk you have on the phone and any other traces of it. Maybe then reboot and try the two files again?
It eventually fails to add the card after a few hours. As for the first failure I gave it many, many hours. Ill give your suggestion a try though. Thanks!

I get to this screen, get an email from Google saying I activated a new wallet and then it sits here indefinitely.
As I understand this doesn't work up here in Canada right? Are any of you guys Canadians? Love to have this.

Scarcely a day has passed since the Google Play Edition Galaxy S4 and HTC One went on sale, and their software bits are already floating around online. You can grab the files to get the new red SunBeam live wallpaper, boot animation, and updated camera app on your device.
The new boot animation is a group of spinning Google-color dots. It's a nice-looking animation and it's not hard to install.
Instructions :
1.Place the ZIP in SD card
2.Go to Recovery
3.Just flash it.
Bootanimation : HERE
The camera app has the updated finger-friendly setting menu, volume toggle shutter control, and probably some other tweaks,can be installed normally : CAMERA
The live wallpaper can be installed normally. The file is right here : SUNBEAM
The camera apk wont install. Does the system camera and gallery need to be removed first?

I don't want to hijack this thread but I'm new to changing boot animations aside from using an app to successfully change my boot animation a couple years ago on my Gingerbread Droid Pro.
Love this simple animation and would love to use it. Just a couple questions.
1. Can I backup my old boot animation and sound?
2. This may be silly and I see the term thrown around multiple times daily, but what does "flashing" something mean?
3. Does this animation have any sound? Not necessary just curious
4. I only want to update the boot animation an not the rest of the things. I don't want to tinker too much with my phone or I'm sure a "bricking" would be in my very near future. Does this Zip only change the boot animation?
5. Do I need to be running a custom rom or unlocked bootloader for this to work?
I am rooted on stock rom running 4.1.1.
Sorry for the elementary questions but I am just curious. Thanks for sharing!

1. Yes. You can back them up using an app such as Root Explorer or ADB. Just copy and paste /system/media/bootanimation.zip to your SDcard.
2.
"Flashing is the term used to install something on your device, whether it’s a ROM, a kernel, or something else that comes in the form of a flashable ZIP file. It is the process of applying a firmware image or a ROM, to your device and usually entails a very specific order of steps. If you don’t follow instructions, you may end up bricking your device." -Derek Scott at Android Central

3. Nope.
4. It will only change /system/media/bootanimation.zip
5. You can flash in Safestrap if your bootloader is locked. No custom ROM is necessary.
Awesome thanks so much! I take it that I can't just copy the file over to the correct directory with root explorer?

You can extract bootanimation.zip from the zip package, but it is easier to flash the zip through your recovery of choice.

when flashing, make sure to mount system first (wiping cache/dalvik helps too).
of course you have the wrong "zip".
unzip the file on your PC, and if you can navigate via the folders to a file named "bootanimation.zip" - then that is your actual boot animation file (this file can be added by moving it via root explorer).
Awesome thanks so much!

This is incredibly frustrating.. due to my lack of knowledge I'm sure. I unzipped the file to my PC. Copied the contents to my SD card. Wiped dalvic. Mounted system (this is the only part I was unsure if I did correctly). Clicked Install. Navigated to the bootanimation.zip file. Swiped to confirm flash. Failed.
You shouldn't have had to "unzip" anything. Just install the file in recovery as downloaded.
The instructions for unzipping would only be used if you were manually installing the animation via a file manager.
Sent from my XT907 using xda app-developers app
I have tried two ways.
1. Downloaded Google_Bootanimation-flashable_zip.zip to SD. Went to TWRP. Clicked Install. Flashed it. Failed.
2. Downloaded Google_Bootanimation-flashable_zip.zip to PC. Extracted zip. Copied contents of unzipped file including Bootanimation.zip to sd card. TWRP recovery. Clicked Install. Flashed that one zip file. Failed.
The only thing I can think of that I could be doing wrong is mounting the system.
And to be clear. Last night Step 1, unlocked bootloader. Step 2 TWRP install. Step 3, trying to flash the zip. Is there a step I'm missing? I have cleared dalvic cache a few times during the trial and error of flashing this zip.
Rooted. Stock 4.1.1.

Flashing the file simply did not work and ended up being a waste of time. Unzipping the file and copying the bootanimation.zip file over with Root Explorer took 30 seconds and was extremely simple if anybody happens to run into the same problem as I did.

After seeing people struggle and research, this appears to still block Google Wallet from completely setting up and initializing. The regular SIM cards do not do it, but the ISIS or NFC appears to be doing the damage. I am not sure if it is possible to switch to a non NFC SIM, but you are more than likely OUT OF LUCK with this SIM Card...Remember this does not guarantee success, but if you hit a wall and just can't get any luck it is a last ditch effort and probable cause to your issues

Troubleshooting
TROUBLESHOOTING
1) Insufficient Secure Element Privileges for system image (release-keys).
If you've been trying to run Google Wallet on your USA variant Note II you've probably ran into some problems. like this one..
"Insufficient secure element privileges for this system image (release-keys)."
why is this happening? check HERE for more detail.
But for the sake of keeping everything together in this thread..
2) Google Wallet controller applet version says "not present"
1. Open Google Wallet
2. Hot Menu Soft Key
3. Find About
It should not say Not Present
If It says "Not Present"
You need to do a nand restore of the ROM you had Google Wallet running on and hit reset Google Wallet. Then You can restore or flash a new ROM and restart the process. If you Do not have a Nand Backup where Google Wallet was working, you may never be able to use Wallet again
3) Device Not Ready. Wallet is unable to proceed until this device is fully initialized. Make sure the device has network access and try rebooting if the problem persists.
I have just gone through the whole set up process trying to use the Galaxy Sprint Note II build.prop and the above error message occurred. I could not even reset Google Wallet on my phone unless I changed my build.prop to the Galaxy Nexus which is the one in this OP. If you are having issues, Only use the Galaxy Nexus build.prop if you are not already doing that
Step 1. Change your build.prop to the settings in Method 1 and 2. (Do not reboot after you finished)
Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.device=maguro
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
Step 2. Download Titanium Backup
Step 3. Use Titanium Backup to wipe Google Wallet App Data and Cache or the built in Application Manager
Step 4. Reboot to Recovery
Step 5. Wipe Cache / Dalvick Cache 3x
Step 6. Reboot
Step 7. Set Up Google Wallet until 100% completion with card added
Step 8. Revert to original build.prop
T-Mobile Note II
ro.product.device=t0ltetmo
ro.product.model=SGH-T889
ro.product.name=t0ltetmo
Step 9. Reboot
Should be Good to Go. I just completed the whole process
FIX: DO NOT USE ANY OTHER BUILD.PROP CONFIGS. ONLY USE WHAT IS IN THIS OP.
4) "Device Setup Failed"
Once your stuck at 'Device setup failed' you need to reset your wallet from the web. Then change your build.prop to Nexus. Reboot, retry wallet and it should register correctly, after that you can change back your build.prop.
1. Go to Google Wallet Online
2. Log in with your login info
3. Click Devices on the left hand side
4. Click Disable Wallet App
5. change your build.prop to the Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.device=maguro
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
6. Reboot Phone and Try to Set up Wallet Again
7. If all Goes Well meaning Wallet is set up 100% and ready for use, you can return to the Stock build.prop
8. Revert to Stock.prop
T-Mobile II
ro.product.device=t0ltetmo
ro.product.model=SGH-T889
ro.product.name=t0ltetmo
9. Reboot Phone after you change back to stock build.prop
10. Enjoy
5) Wallet Freezes During Reset
Wallet Will freeze 9 times out of 10 if you try to perform the reset with your stock build.prop. If this happens then you need to change your build.prop to the Galaxy Nexus
1. Use jrummy build.prop editor or whatever your used to using to change your build.prop
2. Change the build.prop to the Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.device=maguro
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
3. Reboot Phone
4. Reset Google Wallet
5. Once Google Wallet Resets you can flash another ROM or continue whatever Troubleshooting you were doing
6) Tap and Play Is Missing
If You Have Wallet Working Already and upgrade from the Market which you can do without any build.prop modification, Tap and PLay will disappear. Before updating you need to change to the Galaxy Nexus build.prop, reboot the phone then update form the Market and you should have no issues
1. Go into Apllication Manager, Scroll to Google Wallet and Wipe Data and Cache for the App
2. Use jrummy build.prop editor or whatever your used to using to change your build.prop
3. Change the build.prop to the Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.device=maguro
ro.product.model=Galaxy Nexus
ro.product.name=yakju
4. Reboot Phone
5. Open Wallet and Set up Tap and Play until 100% Complete and you get notification that Tap and Play is ready for use!!
6. Once Step 5 is complete, you can go back to your stock build.prop
AT&T Note II
ro.product.model=SAMSUNG-SGH-I317
ro.product.name=t0lteatt
product.device= t0lteatt
7. Reboot Phone
8. Enjoy Working Wallet
7) NFC Error 11 Fix - "nfcpaymentsetupfailure: 11"
1. Go Here
2. Disable Any devices associated to your Google Account
3. Go into TWRP
4. Nandroid Backup Your current Setup
5. Click Wipe
- Slide to Factory Reset 3x
- Click Advanced Wipe
- Wipe Dalvick Cache, System, Data, Internal Storage, Cache 3x
This will clear any Wallet pieces that could be lingering
4. Install Whatever ROM you like
5. Try to install again

Yes I did reset wallet but will try again, and yes it was a clean flash
Your suggesting
1 reset wallet
2 wipe everything multiple times
3 reflash
Now I have a question with 4 should I work on wallet then once working use tb to replace apps or set up rom amd then wallet
Edit
I have reset wallet, wipped everything reflashed, did not restore from backup. And I am getting the same error message. Device setup failed

If you are getting insufficient secure element with method 2 you are getting closer, try to reflash the lib nfc fix, that file in the beginning before you put wallet on the phone.
Go to application manager, find wallet, clean the app cache then reboot to recovery
Go to advanced wipe and wipe cache and dalvick
Fix permissions
Reboot but make sure you still have the custom build.prop still, you can not go back to the original until wallet is fully set up.
Let me know if that works.
If it doesn't then I would delete the apk with xposed framework already installed, wipe the app cache and restart the process because my Rom already had xposed framework installed appears your Rom did not from the start. Let me know brother if that works
