So I've tried a few 4.2 Roms to see if it went away but it hasn't, it seems like whenever I'm receiving data on 3g/4g or WiFi my phone slows down terribly.. Happens across kernels, governors, I/o schedulers... I'm currently on Dizzy's AOKP nightlies using zen kernel 14.1. Anyone else experiencing these issues?

wifi issues with cm10 jb 4.1/4.2.1 roms
I had same problem with 4.2.1 jb CM10 roms. Tried various versions and roms all are having the same problem. My wi-fi disconnects after some time. I need to turn it on everytime, it does that.

I installed this rom and like it. However the data connection seems to disappear alot and wont reconnect unless I restart the phone. Any one had a similar problem ?

change the apn setting.
Are you running lordmod bfs kernel. If so switch to cfs. This is an issue a few ppl have with bfs. Haven't been able to pinpoint it,as it occurrs randomly. I have on cm nightlies but not blackice which is based on cm
I was actually getting this with the CFS kernel, but not very often, and I thought it might have been because of my carrier, so I didn't report it in the blackice thread.
I don't have much to offer except to say you can save yourself a reboot by just toggling 2G/3G data on and off - this gets my connection back every time. I added it to my power widget for quick access
Also I haven't had the problem yet in the latest stable version, are you using that version now?
Yeah I'm using the latest. It isn't happening as often as it did on 1.22. Not sure what the answer is really.

Hey, I have the same problem with the latest BlackIce Rom, and it is using the CFS kernel. I also can not turn it on/off by toggling 3G. Any idea what it could be?

try changing the RIL
there are 4 included in the rom and it's easy to change between them using ICETool
In cm9 latest few nightlies, I occasionally loss internet connection, about once a day.
Power widget, go setting /mobile network don't work. Need reboot.
Is a rom specific problem?

Also used to have this whenever running Faux. Switching back to stock or sticking another kernel on such as Franco and all is good again :good:
Unsure why it does it, would be interested if anyone knew the cause and had a fix! :fingers-crossed:

I've tried the latest Illusion & PA 4.3 ROMs. I liked them, both, very much.
The problem is I cannot get a 3g connection with either ROM. I live in a non-LTE area so this is a deal breaker.
It's not my location because I have fantastic 3g on Goodness in the same places.
I tried updating PRL & profile, before flashing, still no connection.
I've seen others are having this problem with those ROMs as well.
I was thinking I might need to flash a 4.2 ROM, that has a good 3g connection, before moving up to 4.3 but now I see people have had the same issue in 4.2.
Any suggestions?

I'm currently running PA 3.99 and 3g and 4g seems spotty. Even wifi is not as reliable. PA 3.99 is my first flashed rom and have been a daily for me...but not sure how much longer i can take it. Thinking about flashing a 4.2.2 rom.

Did you ever get resolution on this? I'm having a very similar issue with AOKP's latest 4.3 rom. I've also noticed that sometimes I can get service if I reboot a few times, but that's a PITA when I'm just trying to listen to streaming music in the car.

I flashed PA 3.99 RC2 a couple of days ago & I've had no problems with 3g connection at all.
There's a lot of chatter about changing your APN in order to fix these kinds of issues but I made no changes.

Yeah. I messed around with changing the APN but still no luck. I guess I'll wait for an update to AOKP like you did with PA. At least my wifi works. Thanks!
I just deleted the "Sprint" APN and it behaves a lot better (not perfect). Need to test more APN configs to try and figure it all out.

The only way I managed to fix this was to flash an older version of Aosp Rom. I'm using cm10.2 and I clean flashed back to a 9/25 nightly.
Are there any 4.3 roms that have the data issue fixed yet?
recommendations on which one to use?
Slim 4.3 stable 2.
Crdroid Build 15.
Sometimes AOKP.
I'm running AOKP 4.2.2 just for data reasons. The ROMs listed above do have data but its finicky. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
