If you will find how to rename the file RUU_signed.nbh from original software what it will flash from external SD-card(you will need Y-cable) - i will teach you how to flash it...)
I allready had debrand my HTC 8X with this method (with a help of mr. xb0xmod)

So it is not necessary to change it on the phone but just on the rom? Can you explain how pls?

i have the phone for CHina, i have downloaded a ROM for Europe.
i have downloaded the ROM from the forum and i can rename the .nbh file, can you tell more how to do the process to flash it?

Rename RUU_signed.nbh to RIOUDIAG.nbh, put SDcard to the phone, pres vol- + camera + power. Flash it. Then rename UEFI_signed.nbh to RIOUDIAG.nbh and flash it the same way. If the phone wont boot flash again RUU_signed.nbh.
It is way for unbranding Windowsphone 8S by HTC.

i am asking everyone in the forum who has that device. please help and dump your rom for us.
my problem is that my device freeze on the windows mobile screen. its unlock and thats why i can't install a dopod rom. i cant open it beacuse it freezes and i can't confirm hard spl..

Follow my guide and use method 3. This will flash back a factory ROM, Dopod or whatever.

i tried step 3 already.. the problem is that i don't have a "factory rom" that suitble for my device so i tried it with the dopod rom and i get an error cause my device isn't cid unlock. that's why i'm asking for the actual factory rom of htc.

If you "Goldcard" or SuperCID the phone, you can flash ANY factory signed ROM, even the Dopod ROM. I did the same to my phone when I bricked it. Follow the steps closely and copy the RUU_Signed.nbh to the "Goldcard" as CACAIMG.nbh, insert the SD card, turn on the phone and enter bootloader.

maybe the problem is that i don't have a working htc donor device with the original software? the donor htc i have has cooked rom.. do i have to "goldcard" on an original software if the bricked htc isn't super cid?

It doesn't matter what OS, software, or device you use. As long as it's Windows Mobile. Cooked, factory, smoked, modded, doesn't matter. The point is to write the Goldcard image to the SD card. Thats all. nothing else matters.

hello again okkba
i did exactlly as you told and it still didn't work. after i enter bootloader mode, i see on the screan "loading" and than "checking"
after that i see "not alow" with the number "00028002"
do you know what this error means?
can somebody help me in this situation??

I had a t-mobile desire, i rooted with pauls instruction and zip.
I have a problem with sending mms to some phones and have read that an unroot will solve this
Question, if i unroot with generic HTC rom (1.15.405.4) will i then be able to download and install new roms that occasionally appear on the HTC site ?
i kinda think that might be possible because im gonna be unbranded ....right?
or am i all confused ?

Yes you will. The only way to rebrand your phone would be to install a T Mobile rom (Why you would do that is beyond me )

First of all you need to update bootloader via HTCdev and the follow the procedures on what to do next. You can look at my YouTube videos at MrTaco505.

Since your is not there, you need to watch my YouTube video to update it on your phone, so just watch the video on updating bootloader and there u have it

This is how I unlocked the boot loader for my vodafone nl(also not listed between the ruu's) htc wildfire s.
Download this Thanks to: click
Now create a goldcard usingthis tool for example
Now open the file(HTC unlock.rar) you just downloaded.
You will see 2 files: PG76IMG1.zip and PG76IMG2.zip.
First copy PG76IMG1.zip to your SD card, rename it to PG76IMG.zip.
Now load your phone's boot loader (take out battery, put the battery back in, hold power+volume down)
If everything is done right it will see the zip file, and it will ask you if you want to flash it. Say yes.
After it is flashed reboot your phone and delete the PG76IMG.zip on your SD card.
Now copy PG76IMG2.zip to your SD card and rename it to PG76IMG.zip
Now load your phone's boot loader.
If everything is done right it will see the zip file, and it will ask you if you want to flash it. Say yes.
After it is flashed reboot your phone and now follow the steps on htcdev.com
Except on the page where you have to select your carrier just click continu. (you just flashed the HTC EU RUU).
Now your phone should unlock .
At least this worked on my HTC Wildfire S from vodafone nl wich is also not on the list of carriers.(after trying many other things and continuously getting errors.)

I checked in the list posted in the thread.
[TUTORIAL][S-ON] Unlock Bootloader using HTCDEV.com
All I found was htc EU (must be generic) and Vodafone UK. If it is not a vendor locked phone then you should still be Ok.
If you just want to clear the Vodafone crap off the phone then just make a goldcard and run the european RUU. Thats what I did and it was perfectly straightforward. Now I'm looking at unlocking bootloader too though, as I ran out of internal memory, so I need to root and install link2sd.
I'm Vodafone ire aswell BTW, my phone was Vodafone branded when I got it.
Ps, remember to backup before you do anything, you will lose everything.

if we talk about 2PS630000 (cid: HTCCN701) there is no europen fw for this device..only chinese one and there is no google play on CN fw...

It is a late reply but necessary to post for future reference for those with HTC M10_U Lifestyle ( 64gb rom 3gb ram ) devices.
Requirement ; S-OFF and Supercid.

How to ;
1- fastboot oem writecid 11111111 and reboot into download mode.
2- Download the spanish rom above and rename filename to 2PS6IMG.zip and copy to exteranl sdcard.
3- Boot your phone in download mode and press volume up to start flashing.
4- Have fun with all european language and google apps.
ps : tested on m10_u chinese device, %100 ok.

I got it S-off'd with XTC !

I followed these steps :cyclops:
1-S-OFF with the Sunshine
2-fastboot oem writecid 11111111
3- Downloaded the spanish rom and renamed it to 2PS6IMG.zip and I copy that to exteranl sdcard.
4- Boot my phone in download mode and press volume up to start flashing.
5. Then i gave 22 RUU Header Error :crying:
IMG version Of chinese is 1.82.1405.9 and europe (spanish) version is 1. 16.401.3 and These aren't match togheter!
am i do wrong ?

Thank's for your offer dude but it isn't worked, HTC m10u is Chinese phone and is only working with Chinese rom and no more...
even you s-off your phone with sunshine app.
I tested all roms in around the internet so don't bother your self
you just can customised Chinese rom if you have super cid

Why do you even try "some" ruu files ? Do you really want to damage your phone ??? Why don't you do some homework BEFORE using "a" ruu ??? I really can't get my head around this.....
Now as far as that goes. Let's put some proper energy in this matter.
1: boot to DOWNLOAD mode
2: READ your OS line and write it down for us
3: we can offer help that's useful

In Download Mode Theres a Line:
"OS-2.41.401.41
Oké nice
Download this zip file :
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634797504
Then rename it to ONLY to 2PS6IMG and make SURE It is only called 2PS6IMG.zip and NOT 2PS6IMG.zip.zip because windows hides the extension by default, so be aware.
Copy this file to the SD CARD and boot to DOWNLOAD mode again. It will find the file and use volume up/down and the power button to select and confirm the choice.
It will ERASE the whole phone so please take note that all that is not backed up will be LOST.
after the ruu is flashed you will be 100% stock as its out of the box. Then you can also update to Oreo via software updates.
